Stupid octopus

Well, the stupid octopus will not move on a real Odyssey2. I've been trying various things to try to fix it and still the thing won't move. I'd get the hardware to get to play Odyssey2 games on real hardware, but it costs about $100, and since I don't really have any plans after GoSub (even though I'll probably think of something and work on it even though assembly is too hard and I can't understand it anyway.) I don't plan on getting one. So that means getting other people who do have the hardware to test it on it. And they say the octopus hasn't moved since they first put it on real hardware. If I can't get the stupid thing to move at all soon, I may end up deleting the octopus from the game if I have no other option, which would suck, but nobody has volunteered to look through my code to see what could be causing the problem.

Does it move on your emulator? Can you not use the debugger in O2EM to see what is happening?

Can you tell me about the hardware that allows you to play the binaries on a real O2? where can I buy it? Is it something available for sale from someone on the videopac.nl web forum? I may be interested in it. For $100 I could play all my O2 binaries that I have for the emulator... and all the new homebrew games being made for the system.

If it works in emulation but not on real hardware then its probably something to do with accessing VDC registers when its disabled. That would be my first guess but I'm not a G7000 programmer.

In my opinion learning how to use the debugger and watching your code execution paths would be your best option.
