I've been putting off this day for a while, but I think it's time for me to start over. I've been busy trying to re-work the demo kernel into what I need for my game, and there are some parts I simply do not understand. For this reason, and the fact that I think I need to write my own kernel for it to truly be "my game" I have decided to scrap my current progress and start fresh. My new approach will have only two players per team and use the missiles for balls. By not using the ball object, I don't have to worry about trying to get it recolored to stand out from the playfield. I am in fact going to take advantage of the fact it matches the playfield and make it be the (much skinnier) center line. By doing this, I may even be able to create a "player over the line" foul routine, though that is the least of my worries at this point. The playfield will also have a few other differences which I hope you will see in my next posting.Due to some non-Atari projects I need to get finished, it may be a while before I get anything significant done on this. I've set up a very basic kernel and am going to attempt to keep adding features to it. Hopefully it will be one of joy and not of frustration. I do feel like I'm finally getting a grasp on this assembly thing, but I also know there are specific instructions I'm going to have to ask down the road which I have been unable to find.

Sounds good! :)

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

It sounded a lot better when I wrote it. :D In fact though, I've been so busy I haven't touched a single piece of code since that day. I'm hoping this will let up soon, and I can get back to my real passion of the last few months. Vdub, just wondering if you got the PM I sent you a few days back?
