Was Cruiz'in Atariage and found a new user who had been here a little over a month by the name of BubsyFan101. Always good to meet another Bubsy fan since we are a unique breed I think. ;)

 

So while there is new material on the internet (which I will feature next month), allow me to draw your attention to some things going on here on Atariage. First off there is BubsyFan101's intro message:

In the Bubsy Opinions thread on the Jaguar forum the level maps have been extracted from the Jaguar Bubsy game and are available for viewing now:

BTW on the level maps, I have one correction to make. Just switch the map for level 7 with 9. Those two got swapped around somehow. Sorry about that.

 

Also one last bit of news, Songbird was nice enough to send some early source code for Bubsy my way, so I will be sharing what I have so far. Basically as far as I can tell it is about 90% of the source and files between what Songbird contributed and what I was able to decompile from the original rom with a lot of technical help from various people.

If only having the Jag' source code for Bubsy would allow some Jag' dev to improve the game regarding control issues...

That is the hope. I think the control of Bubsy himself is pretty cool, but the hit detection on the enemies could use some work. I think people would like it where Bubsy could take a few hits. I am still around the Sonic idea where Sonic was protected by the rings and would shower rings if hit but was still alive... Just have it where Bubsy would shower balls he collected if hit. If Bubsy has like 10 or 20 balls collected he lives. If not, he dies. :)
