Wii-U first impressions
I got a Wii-U. Apparently Fred Meyer opened at midnight to sell them, and when I got there at 8am, they still had a few 8gb ones left. So I got one. The controller is freaking huge. Way bigger than a 3DS. And you have to plug the controller in separately. And there are no yellow/white/or red wires any more, so you can't play this on a CRT TV. Luckily, I had a HDMI output on my new TV, but it took me a few more minutes to figure out how to make the TV display what was plugged into the first HDMI slot. Right now it's playing soothing music even though I'm mad it's taking forever for it to download data for an update. I don't plan to do anything illegal or put a homebrew channel or anything like that. So I figure in a few hours, I'll be able to play my new Wii-U and New Super Mario Bros. U. And you know what this means? Remember that Nintendo Power magazine thingy I was talking about making? Now I can do that (if this update ever finishes...)
