How It Works...


EarthQuake

Only unique rows are stored in the map data, and each row has a height value to determine how many scanlines it is drawn for until another row of data is loaded and displayed. Also, only the left side of the screen can be manipulated; the right side is copied or mirrored (again, depending on each row). I colored mirrored rows differently from reversed rows in this example.
