    • Finally unboxed things today after returning from vacation.  Ended up coming down with something when he got home and haven’t had much energy.  Here’s the couple of Intellivision items I picked up that I’ve been on the search for for some time.     I’ve never found many of these, so when these came available, I had to make a big push for them.  Very likely overpaid, but when you see something that doesn’t ever come up, you better get it then     finally, being a big Sears fan, I’ve wanted this since I first saw it. Still not sure if these were sold at Sears or how they got they got to market.  The seller didn’t have any history either but said he’s owned it since he got the system.  It’s in rough shape, but hoping that it will clean up somewhat. It will sit nicely next to its Mattel twin.
    • Hi I've been trying some of my old 5-1/4 floppies.   Most of them are Alphas.   Both 810 and 1050 have no difficulties reading SD disks and run perfectly so I don't think its the felt pads.   When I try an alpha load DD it either keeps Boot erroring or loads up the media very slowly.   I've added a link with video,   any ideas gratefully received.      I think maybe the media has degraded over time,   I don't think it was specified to be in use thirty years later     https://1drv.ms/u/s!AkwzwvRKBoyjlKhl-xelEjRLlTpN4A?e=6OcXzn   Many Thanks

    • If Atari had stayed together as a single unit and part of huge media company like Warner, they might have stood a chance.   They would have bought the Amiga instead of Commodore, of course too, but that's a different thread.  There would have been a lot of money poured into a 7800 development team, and GCC would have been around to continue making amazing ports.  They would have figured out how to match or best Nintendo by adding the same type of extra memory/chips/etc. to 7800 carts that NES carts had.  We would have seen some great 8-bit computers games ported, like the ones from Synapse, EA, Origin, SSI, etc.  They still would have had to weather 1984/1985 when home computers and VCRs were all-the-rage, and video games had fallen out of favor, but by 1986, if they were determined to stick it out, a new set of kids would have been ready, and they could have prepared the Atari 15600 (maybe based on Lynx style 65SC02 + support chips, or maybe a stripped-down Atari Amiga game system, but definitely designed by Jay Miner et al), kept backwards compatibility, and ruled the Nintendoage with amazing games.  Nintendo might have even stayed away from the USA market, and Atari could have instead, licensed their games for the 15600 and Amiga.  There would have also been a ton of games to port from the Atari Amiga over to the 15600.  Then we could have played Mario, Zelda, The Bitmap Brothers games, The Bard's Tale, Gauntlet, and a legal Atari Tetris all on an Atari branded machine like good Lord Bushnell intended all along.
    • I'm just getting back in to A8s at the moment and really enjoying it.   I've got a ton of ATR multi boots and am going through them one at time and looking at games i've never played in Years!   I've kept my 810 Happy in a cupboard for years (400 died years ago),   then recently EBAY happened     I forgot how I loved some of the games I played so much.   It will calm down but at the moment i'm loving it!   Preppie 1 and 2 tonight!
    • Thanks for finding the bugs. Something similar also occurred in the NTSC version. I will analyze the code and try to fix it.
    • I'm having a blast programming the zx81 but the games are limited. What games from the Spectrum should I try?
    • I thank you.  I figured out how to download the text file--I had problems from the site before.  I will look at it in more detail later.
    • Posting in old threads is fine.  Bumping very old threads just to bump them and not adding anything of value is considered a form of spamming/trolling.
