******************************************* * TI BASIC/EXTENDED BASIC COMPILED GAMES * * MEGA PACK V3.0.0 * ******************************************* All the games (300+) in one .zip archive, with scripts to rename for FinalGROM (I've only tested the Windows script, not the Un*x counterpart). This pack replaces the previous .zip (some of the games in the previous archives received an update and are included in this new pack). *** Have Fun with your TI99! *** TI99_Compiled_Games_MEGA_Pack_V3.0.0_by_TMOP.zip TI99_Compiled_Games_List_V1.5.2.xlsx -

Nitrous has had a small but significant update. Something I have been wanting to reinstate into Nitrous for years now is the lateral road movement. I took it out long ago for performance reasons. I am now at a point where I have been able to add it back in and iron out any performance penalties. The outcome? The game feels much more immersive and fun to drive!

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
Battlefish replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
Apparently, Sears is still around! They're shedding dozens of stores per year, but still around! If that chain still exists after Amico launches, how about a special edition for them? Sears got rid of their video game section a few years ago, but they must be desperate enough by now. -
Hi all! Last night on @ZeroPage Homebrew's Twitch stream, Champ Games revealed the "secret game" that we've been working on the last few months: Turbo Arcade for the 2600! Turbo is a 3D racing game from the early 80's (1981 to be precise) that featured state-of-the-art scaling graphics. @Nathan Strum has done an amazing job bringing these images to life on the ol' 2600, including full screen four-color scrolling backgrounds (inspired by @cd-w's Zeviouz kernels) and managed to capture all of the iconic scenes from the arcade game, including the city, tunnel, wall, bridges, snow forest and many more! Nathan also stepped out of his comfort zone and provided the sound effects , but if anyone is interested in 'checking his work' we'd appreciate the help! The game currently supports joystick for control but we are hoping to add in driving controller support. There are two modes of shifting supported: automatic (the game automatically shifts from high to low and vice versa when necessary) and manual (the player manually shifts to low or high gear). Due to the large number of data needed for the 150+ scenes and 300+ frames of animation in Turbo Arcade, the game uses the new 64K CDFJ backswitching scheme. Currently this is not supported by the Harmony or Harmony Encore but Fred aka @batari was gracious enough to send a loaner development 128K Melody board to myself, Nathan and James so we could develop, test and reveal the game on real hardware. Thanks Fred! The game does run on the latest version of Stella; I will need to test the ROM on other emulators to confirm whether it works or not. A demo ROM is expected to be made available in the next week and will be available on Champ Games ROM Demo Download page. If you haven't already, be sure to check it out for the latest demos of RobotWar: 2084, Lady Bug Arcade and Gorf Arcade (all expected to be released in 2021), as well as final demos from the released versions of Galagon, Wizard of Wor Arcade and Mappy. The full version is not expected to be released until sometime in 2022. We will post updates here, on our FB site and on our webpage as they become available; in the meantime, here are some screenshots from the current build of the game (which we estimate to be about 70% done): Title screen: Start of race in the city: Limited visibility in the darkened tunnels: Be careful on the slippery surface in the snow / forest scene: You lose sight of the opponent cars as they dip behind the oncoming hill: Slow down around the sharp curve overlooking the ocean! Avoid the ambulance as it travels through the streets with it's sirens blasting!

I thought I'd have some fun with this and at the same time reward my valiant colleague testers with an Atari 8-bit first- The Atari 8-bit motherboard temperature monitor utility 😁 I can't test it on real hardware and by definition it won't work on Altirra (although the picture will display) I would love feedback from those trying it out on genuine Ataris... Tatra Mountains, Slovakia 57 colours. drpeter_GTIA_Temp_Monitor.xex N.B. No assurance as to the accuracy or usefulness of the GTIA temperature monitor is offered or implied 😀 N.B.2 It will only work from a fully cold start, on machines which have demonstrated artefactual behaviour with drpeter_Artefact_3.1 (see recent posts)

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
IMBerzerk replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
Wow. Nice job! I think this is actually nicer than the woodgrain version of the Amico... then again, the same could be said for the Sears version of the Intellivision as well. I hope this gets a real look by Tommy and IE. It would be a great 70's look variation. I'd even buy it if it was a customization kit, whereas I paid 20 or 30 for the top shell and controller covers and did it myself. Thanks for posting. -

The last one by me is in the process of going out of business. It is a bit sad. It was in that store that I met my wife of 28 years. We worked in the automotive dept., she was a service writer and I was a salesman. I jokingly told her we should go and renew our vows in the tire section before they close the doors! She was not amused! -

I know, I know that a MegaPack is needed... 🙂 I've just prioritized the creation of new compiled games, however the .zip is coming soon, since now we have reached the 300 games. -

No man, you nailed it. Just pull the woodgrain design from the original as believe it or not, it was actually specific to both the SVA and the Sears Atari 2600 variant as well. I love it... but then again...I'm completely biased. Lol. -
I know I'm a little late for the party here, but with everyone breaking a million or half a mil, I'm just happy to finally break 100k!

Glad you liked it! I was originally going to make the side buttons beige, like the rest of the controller, but authenticity demanded otherwise: -

Thanks for showing up, registering, and being open about all that it is appreciated as you can see by the click responses to your post. I just preferred to write this and say I get it completely, and good job at what you've accomplished so far. Try and stick around, we have a few company reps for various entities and any continued support would go a long way (in both directions.)

Hey everyone... we did it....! I worked with papa*nannysfunstuff and together, (her sowing and my artwork) she is now producing new 1200XL covers: I provided her with a 1200XL case for a template and I also created the 1200XL graphic file for her embroidery machine.. She sent me 2 of them at cost.. look: Please support her! https://www.ebay.com/str/papanannysfunstuff

A little while ago I had the idea to make a Joy of Painting style video where I would make a simple game in bBasic and explain what I was doing as I went along. I've sort of cooled on making the video for now (but I may come back to it at some point), but I went ahead and made the game. It's just a simple little Cave/Flappy Bird style game. Press the button, your ship goes up. Release the button, your ship goes down. Don't crash into stuff. Cosmic Canyon.bin Cosmic Canyon.txt

My goal for today was to get the maze looking respectable. I did part of it on my Twitch stream, and a good chunk of it afterward. I ended up with this: This is plenty good enough for today. Tomorrow, I'll work on something else. Not sure what. I might try to get the gold coins on the maze, or maybe work on getting the player in there and moving around.

4 pointsHappy to finally have my Atari 7800 hooked up to the internet! 🤣

So, I played a quick game on the original release and scored 223,190! Made it to round 18. The enemy AI looks like it was untouched in the arcade remake. Maybe Brutus throws bottles a little more often in the original, but I couldn't really tell for sure. All the strategies I use in the Arcade version can be employed in the original. Each death was the result of the bad bottle punching, resulting in the lower score.

Credit due to the artist that captured the retro look and feel of the old-school original Intellivision box art. Very nicely done imo! I look forward to seeing more! -
I still haven't had time to catch up on the questions and chat. Busy week! Some BIG news coming next week. In the meantime... real quick... In case you missed the 1 year anniversary of Oeb Pete's weekly Amico All Access show, I revealed the cover box art for the upcoming Biplanes game! The art hearkens back to the hand-painted watercolor/marker style of all the original Intellivision boxes from the 70's & 80's!

#Atari8bit #FujiNet @Bill Kendrick is at it again! This time, he has written a visual tracker for the International Space Station! You can run it on atari-apps.irata.online/Networking/iss.xex

The directory limit imposed by the hfdc/ide/scsi controller card specifications is 114. It is almost a certainty that the Geneve OS is not checking this boundary in a TIPI configuration. Did you create all of these folders for test purposes or as part of gathering files? 250+ generic folders seems quite excessive to me and will slow down catalog operations by the sheer volume of data requested each time.

Ryan! Welcome aboard! We are lucky to have you.

Cheers! The horizon is a balancing act between visuals and performance. It's dancing close to the max frame time already. Changing over to the lateral road movement has used up my last round of performance gains. I'm always tweaking and trying to improve performance though (hence partly why the game is taking the time it is) and expanding the road is always on the list.

Using Pokeymax Config (v0.7) to configure my Pokeymax
foft replied to Gunstar's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I'm afraid I didn't write any documentation for the tool. I should do something... The dev guide is indeed the best reference for the features right now. Firstly I'd use the latest version from my site, which I see you found now. I put this and the cores here: http://www.64kib.com/pokeymax_files/. Particularly important to make sure the software is new for updating the core, some earlier versions had some bugs for some configurations. The larger FPGAs have flash storage (10M04/10M08/10M16), the small ones do not (10M02). The MXX is shown in the version code in pokeycfg. A quad+covox is definitely large enough, since it doesn't fit in the 10M02. For new ones @Duddie now started using 10M04 and higher. When you "apply" the settings are activated until the next boot. When you "store" it writes the flash. Note that it does not activate it immediately. Pokeymax only reads its flash memory after a cold reboot. If you have a pokeymax without flash support then it does not have the "store" option. When you start up pokeycfg it reads the state from the registers on pokeymax, so if you have not rebooted after a "store" then you will indeed see the old settings. Channel mode is described in the dev guide. It is for outputting each pokey channel to a different audio output. "Output each pokey channel separately. E.g. channel 1 on AUD, channel 2 on audio pin 1, channel 3 on audio pin 2 and channel 4 on audio pin 3. In the case of multiple pokey chips, the channels are summed.". So typically you don't want it, unless you are doing something special! "Restrict" removes chips from the memory map, so instead you will see mirrors of pokey1. Its just for incompatible software of if you don't want, for some user specified reason, to have a sid for example. I added it for the U1MB plugin so it was easy to disable devices to run incompatible software. The use of D4:core.bin is only because I didn't implement a file selector. I did plan to add one then got used to it as it is! Its a large file so I thought most people would use sio2pc or sio2sd anyway where its easy to mount it in that drive as that filename. Is it a problem because you have a real D4 so would need to unplug the SIO cable? -
Ok, I took my previous .CAR version of this, and instead of adding a title screen, I did a "full" or at least extensive hack. There were some things I didn't like on the original game, so I changed them all to look much more like the arcade version. I added the Namco font, brighter and more accurate colors, and modified quite a bit of the graphics. Probably more could be done, but this is enough, hahaha... This is my first 'official' hack of a game, other than making cart versions. Not perfect, but lots better than it was. It's still a 16K .CAR version, needs 32K RAM. Pooyan_LE.car

Popeye Arcade: 215,860 (Round 20) I agree with @Deteacher. Once you figure out how Brutus reacts and the witch, you can roll the score. Made too many dumb errors in this run. Will need to try again later

314,900. I forget the round number, but it was in the 20's. I've pretty much figured out a strategy on all 3 boards. The only time I lose a life now is on the ship level, when the bird throws off my pattern. Otherwise, I think I can grind out some rollage on this one.
