  1. ndary, Can you please clarify this for me? Is Tapper a real cartridge that was released by Atari, or did you make this yourself? Thanks.
  2. quote: Originally posted by Krawhitham: he is not doing anything wrong he is selling cartridge version of those games which do exist in very small numbers The problem is that those are not real Atari releases. Those are hobbyist cartrdiges that he made himself. By not clarifying that fact, he may be selling to people who are not getting what they think they're getting. And if that isn't enough for you, technically it's copyright violation and illegal.
  3. Has anyone contacted this individual about clarifying his auctions? If he refuses to do so he should be reported to eBay, because he is clearly violating their user policy. I wouldn't have a problem with it if he would just be clear about what he's selling.
  4. Okay, thanks. Is there a picture in the auction you won, and if so can you give me a link to the auction? And in case you are wondering, we are missing many non-US cartridges from our database. We are adding them on a case-by-case basis when we can confirm them like this.
  5. Glad to hear it Rick! Thanks for letting us know what happened. And to think this guy would have gotten away with it if he had just been a little less greedy.
  6. I have several boxed double-enders, but no boxed single enders.
  7. If you can send us a scan (or at least a picture) along with the titles on the cartridge, we'll add it to the database. Thanks!
  8. Well, that's two "Ayes" for increasing the Double Dragon rating. Anyone else have a comment?
  9. Good question. I can say this - the ROMs on AtariAge are by all indications NTSC. I have wondered about this though, as very few (if any) people have actual NTSC copies. Perhaps the NTSC versions should even be bumped up to 10? How many people have these? Has anyone dumped a supposed PAL version and found it to be different from the ROMs we have on AtariAge?
  10. If they've been dumped, we don't have them. If you want to dump the one you have, we'd be happy to put it online, or at least put up some better screen shots. [ 04-18-2002: Message edited by: Alex ]
  11. http://www.cafepress.com/cp/store/store.as...iage2,atariage3Yes, that's right, you can finally order gear with the AtariAge logo on it. T-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, hats, and other items are all available. Now you can look stylish (or something) and support AtariAge at the same time. You can see all the products at the AtariAge Gear Store. To kick it off, we're having a slogan contest for the back of the t-shirt. The winner will receive a free t-shirt of their choice with their slogan on the back. For all the details, go to the AtariAge T-Shirt Slogan Contest page.
  12. http://www.gilligames.com/Space_Horse/TheGame.aspShrapnel Games is set to publish Space HoRSE, a strategy game from Gilligames inspired by the classic game M.U.L.E.. For those unfamiliar with it, M.U.L.E. is considered one of the best computer games ever, and the Atari 800 version is considered by many to be the best port. Get the ATR file for yourself and find out why. A demo of Space HoRSE should be available soon.
  13. It was sold seperately - definitely easier to find a single white box as opposed to the actual Action Pak. Federated for one sold them in a bundle with a bunch of other titles in the mid-90's. I doubt it was ever available at places like Toys R Us, just from some warehouse finds/closeouts. Probably should be higher than a 2 though.
  14. After Downloading Targ for MAME and comparing it to Universal Chaos, I would say that UC is at the very least a clone of Targ. I emailed both Telegames headquarters, but unfortunately they didn't have any information. The US location said it had been out of stock for many years and nobody knew anything about it, and the UK location said that most of their old files had been destroyed (ack!). So this will remain a mystery for the time being, but we will add to the UC game notes that it is a clone of Targ, and that CBS had originally planned to release a home version of Targ. Perhaps someone will be able to supply more info someday.
  15. http:///features/contests/CastleBlast/entr...0&EntryNumber=1Ronen Habot has selected Zanza's entry as the winner for the Castle Blast Label Contest. Congratulations to Zanza and thanks to everyone who entered, you can see all of the label submissions here. For his efforts, Zanza will receive a limited Special Edition version of Castle Blast. This Special Edition will be differentiated from the normal version as follows: [*]The owner's initials and serial number will be displayed on the top of the screen when pressing *. [*]The owner's initials and serial number will be displayed as a moving message at the bottom of the screen when the game is over. [*]Cheat mode where the player can select the level he/she wants to start playing at.
  16. Thanks guys! And thanks to everyone who voted for us. We will have even more reasons for you to vote for us for next year's award.
  17. And just for the record, it wouldn't be the first time that Telegames acquired the rights and subsequently published another company's unreleased game. They did this with Sunrise's Glacier Patrol.
  18. Interesting thought. I don't know the story behind Universal Chaos, although we will be changing the entry to NTSC due to the scanlines. Has anyone purchased this from Telegames UK? The screens certainly do look similar, I'll have to download Targ on MAME and see what the gameplay is like, as I never saw that game when I was younger.
  19. Thanks Thomas. We listed it that way because it is not sold by Telegames US, but it is sold by Telegames UK. I never checked the scanlines (I saw your other post). I wonder though if there are two versions, or if Telegames US used to sell it, or what the story is? Anyway, we'll change it.
  20. Skatepunk is correct. Although the label only says "Football", it is Super Challenge Football. If you had the original box, it would also say Super Challenge Football.

I personally don't like anime style games, which is a healthy portion of Japanese games. Just can't get into them. I like innovative titles like Jet Grind and Seaman, but even Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star, with it's wierd mix of sci-fi and anime-fantasy, just doesn't appeal to me. Give me Baldur's Gate, Halo, or Starcraft any day. I've seen a few Japanese fantasy games with more 'realistic' styles to them, but very few.

    WOW LOOK

Wow, I just read NESChampion's post. Looks like there's no doubt that this is a case of fraud. I hope all of you who sent money are able to get it back.

    WOW LOOK

I am always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. My initial reaction was that this individual was simply misrepresenting himself, but perhaps it is more than that. Fact: This guy is using images taken from Digital Press and AtariAge. We emailed him yesterday and politely asked him to remove the images taken from AtariAge, and suggested that he use images of the actual items so that people can see exactly what they're getting. We told him to email us if he had any further questions. He has never responded, nor removed the images. Fact: He has claimed to others in email that the Q*bert's Qubes box shown in the picture is his. This is not true. The front of the box was taken from Digital Press, the back of the box from AtariAge. The actual box from DP belongs to Marc O., a known and respected classic gamer. So in this case he is either lying or very confused. Our Q*bert's Qubes box came from MattW in case anyone is wondering. Fact: He is selling a Glib, shrinkwrapped New in the Box. You can see the shrinkwrapped box (which came from AtariAge), and also the cartridge. Not very clever, when you consider how he took a picture of the cartridge from a shrinkwrapped box. The Glib box on AtariAge came from Dave Warmington. Fact: The Quadrun cartridge scan is from AtariAge. In fact, it is my cartridge and I'm looking at it right now. So this is definitely NOT his cartridge. Any theory that he somehow was the person who originally sent these scans to us is bogus. So, this guy is definitely misrepresenting his items, and is lying about this fact. Please use caution if you plan to deal with him. I would think that if he were legitimate, he would have responded to our email and taken down the AtariAge images. If you were selling thousands of dollars of rare games, and people were questioning your authenticity, wouldn't you take the time to provide some proof? Something to think about.
  24. I'm not sure if you're asking specifically about UltraDev or Dreamweaver. UltraDev is basically Dreamweaver with additional features. Anyway, it's my favorite GUI web dev tool, although these days I mainly use it for layout. Once I have a layout, I use TextPad or Homesite to write the specific code. It also supports some server models like JSP, ASP (which I've used, although I found it better to just run IIS locally), and I think Coldfusion. There is a PHP server model you can install called Impakt, but I haven't used it. I used to use it a lot more, but it's still a good tool for certain tasks. I haven't developed with Coldfusion, can't help you there. Have you looked at PHP?
