  1. Intellivision Productions owns the ROMs. Wizards of the Coast owns the D&D name. Can't someone just take the name out of the title? I really don't know from a legal standpoint. I've sent IP email asking them for more details or if they plan to do anything with them, but never got a response.
  2. http://www.atariage.com/company_page.html?...600&CompanyID=3Sean Kelly has submitted screenshots for five M-Network prototype games that first resurfaced at CGE '99. These titles include Locomotion, In Search of the Golden Skull, AD&D Treasure of Tarmin, Anteater and Rocky & Bullwinkle. While we have had some low-quality screen photographs in the AtariAge database, this is the first time clean screen captures have been published on the web. Unfortunately we don't have the ROMs to these games, but we hope you enjoy the better view.
  3. Moving this to off-topic. Please people, try to keep the totally off-topic stuff in the appropriate place. Thanks!
  4. I have three books looking for a good home: Inside Atari BASIC Hands-On BASIC for the Atari 400/800/1200XL I also have Learning C: Programming Graphics on the Amiga and Atari ST. I'd rather give them to someone here than donate them to Goodwill. Please only ask for them if you actually have a use for them.

    AAAAARRRRGH.

The worst part about eBay is their refusal to remove bogus feedback. I had one guy leave neutral feedback complaining that I didn't leave positive feedback for him fast enough. He later apologized. Another yahoo bought something and left negative feedback claiming the shipping box was wet. They never contacted me first. And how is this my fault?? I sent them a replacement item and asked them to leave a followup comment. I never heard from them again. They subsequently did something to get booted off eBay, but their negative feedback is still on my account. And then there are the three neutrals that used to be positive. The users closed their account and the commments changed to neutral. This is what eBay used to do, but not anymore. Anyway, they won't change them back to positive. eBay knows they have the market cornered and they're not going to spend time fixing feedback. Any jerk can say whatever they want about you, true or not, and there's nothing you can do. Sound fair?

  7. It's made by Axlon though, which is an interesting Atari connection at least. Neat, never seen that before.
  8. In terms of layout and core functionality, it's very similar to UBB. But it's faster and has many additional features that UBB lacks. I think you'll really like it once you see it running, it's very slick. And I think the "View Posts Since Last Visit" (PHPBB) function is better than "Today's Active Topics" (UBB) because it doesn't run on a 24 hour clock than can be limiting after midnight or if you don't visit every day.
  9. Here is the catalog page he speaks of. Here is the Secret Agent prototype. There is an A-Team prototype featuring Mr. T from Atari, but that's all I know of. Smokey Bear I don't know any more about. Mr. Bill's Neighborhood "supposedly exists", but we've never seen any proof. The Mr. T that MattyXB has doesn't have anything to do with the Data Age Mr. T. (that I know of). [ 12-30-2001: Message edited by: Alex ]

    Space Eagle

If you can scan it for us, we'll add it to the database. I actually had this in the old Nexus "Foreign" list, but when we added international titles to AtariAge we didn't have a picture of it to confirm.
  11. Due to techical problems with this thread (a page count problem was forcing an empty page to load), I've closed this thread and continued it here.
  12. There was a technical problem with the MK thread probably related to the issues last week, so I've closed the thread (page count was off, causing an empty page to load). Please continue your discussion in this thread.
  13. I don't have that isssue - can you provide any more details? Did they mention if they still had the game? Does anyone have a copy of this toady? Have they been dumped?
  14. quote: Originally posted by Scott Stilphen: Looping and Cabbage Patch *do* exist - the programmer confirmed it He confirmed that they existed at one time, or does he have them now? If so, where are the screenshots?
  15. Man, you guys aren't making it any easer. In regard to the ROM, what I meant was that I would like to actually dump an Atari label version and check it. As you noted, I have no idea which cart our current ROM came from, even if it is NTSC. Since we only (at this point) differentiate rarity based on video format, we might say the PAL BMX is a 6 (for example), even if it is a 10 in Holland. It's still a 6 in PAL format, we don't differentiate rarity among countries. We do try to indicate where a game is primarily found, so this entry might indicate Australia as opposed to Europe. It certainly isn't an exact science! I think if we can indicate a general notion of common, rare, and extremely rare, that may be the best we can do. At this point, I'm more interested in getting more scans of European/Brazilian/Pirate titles.
  16. First off, here are the protos that we know exist, but we don't have dumps of yet: AD&D: Tower of Mystery AD&D: Treasure of Tarmin Anteater Crack'ed Funky Fish Good Luck, Charlie Brown In Search of the Golden Skull Loco-Motion Pink Panther Pleiades Rocky and Bullwinkle Snow White That's quite a list in itself. Now, CGE has stated that they'll be releasing three protos next August. Anyone know what they'll be? Will they be from this list, or something else from the rumor pages?
  17. Yes, we do try to distinguish PAL/NTSC rarity. In some cases we have entries for both PAL and NTSC games, same title, different rarities. In other cases we simply haven't gotten around to that title yet (we're concentrating on unlisted titles first before adding all the games that are found in both PAL/NTSC). Unfortunately, sellers often don't discern and just look at the higher rarity like you said. At some point we need to find someone with an NTSC BMX and have them dump it - then we can determine the video format and prove it. Now that you've brought this up, we'll add a PAL entry for BMX with a lower rarity. If you see any other glaring PAL/NTSC variances, let us know.
  18. Just wait till that Incredible Hulk movie comes out. Did I say that?
  19. A couple comments: I've seen those Kickman ads before, but I've never heard of anyone having seen the game. It was not unusual to advertise games that weren't complete (or in some cases not even started), so that Kickman ads doesn't mean too much unless someone actually saw it once. Also Moycon, the VGR list you referred to is extremely out of date. The Kickman entry is basically accurate, but theres lots of stuff that isn't, just FYI. It's possible there's a proto out there, but I wouldn't get your hopes up until we can find someone who can verify that it ever existed in the first place. As for the screenshots, one of them is obviously a mockup, as they are drastically different. The AGH shot looks more like a mockup to me, the Columbia House screenshot looks plausible. Leonard Herman, are you reading? Ever see this one?
  20. I do not believe a picture label exists. That was an error no the Nexus list that we weeded out. But, if anyone does have a picture label, let us know.
  21. Compare it to other 7's and see what you think. And remember, cartridge rarity can vary regionally, we try to present a national picture. Even though you may rarely see it at the local flea market, it is easily available on the Internet if you're willing to pay $20 or so. I know many people don't like eBay, but it's a great barometer of rarity due to the fact that it's national/global in nature. I think it compares favorably to other 6's, most 7's are simply harder to find than that. Also, I should point out that new Frogger games have no bearing on Frogger II getting more difficult to find. They might put it in more demand, driving the price up, but that doesn't make it more rare. As for Dark Chambers, we should probably raise that up a bit. That used to be an Oshea's/AtariClassics game which was why it was rated so low, but they appear to have finally sold out.
  22. I'm sure z26 will be updated shortly with the proper support. Then you'll just be able to run z26 and click on the LotR game and it will run. It's just tricky right now because it's a new release.
  23. The Lord of the Rings story was posted on Slashdot, a news site. It generates huge amounts of traffic and instantly crashed our database, so we had to make a low-bandwidth page. Once things calm down the old page will be back.
  24. Maybe we should hold another manual contest. Any interest?
  25. Great entries so far! I can only assume that liveinabin and others are at hard work as we speak.
