While having proper distribution and support channels is great, it also means that price will go up. Original RetroHQ price was £140 which in today's rate is 160€. Dragonbox lists JagGD for 190€ which is 19% increase and again that's fine,

It's because Dragonbox has to add the local sales tax (VAT), which in Germany is 19%.

  2. It's any cart, not the Lynx SD in particular. There is a physical connection on every cart which powers a part of the Lynx's power circuitry and hence will slowly drain the batteries if a cart is left plugged in.

Thanks a lot for this useful clarification. So I will keep my Lynx SD and all other carts separate when not in use.

Although it's quite tempting to leave the Lynx SD card permanently in the Lynx ;-)

  3. I am a happy owner of the Lynx SD card.

Somewhere in here I saw someone mentioning one should not leave the Lynx SD card in the Lynx when not in use.

What is the background of this hint?

What happens if I leave the Lynx SD card permanently in the Lynx?

    Thanks for explaining.

  4. The preview image file format is the raw pixel data produced by the Lynx sprite packer (I did include the packer with a utility to feed it with 4 bit bitmaps), it's knocking around on a thread somewhere. The resolution is 160 x 102. You would need to create 4 bpp (16 colour) 160 x 102 images and then feed them through my utility to produce the .lsd file.

OK, I see. So it is not a "straight forward" thing to do on a regular Windows PC.

I wonder where the utility to feed it with 4 bit bitmaps is located in this forum....

  5.

Thanks for this very useful video.

So I registered at EPForums and followed the given link over there to download your Lynx package v 1.0.

Then I downloaded the 7z file, 10 MB in size. But when I unpack, it contains all your rom and preview files with 0kB each.

I downloaded several times with the same emtpy files after unpacking.

    Why is this?

  6. I can corfirm omf´s issues with the previous JCP.exe on a Windows XP Home netbook, see screenshot #1.

Then I tried the new JCP.exe dated July 10 (V02.04.02) and it cured the issue, see screenshot #2.

  8. Had this photo back from the PCB fab house a couple of days ago showing an assembled board. From the photo I'm very pleased with the quality of the work. Should be getting this first big batch before long...

Indeed, that looks like a perfect production!

  9. @SainT, which SD card sizes are supported?

I have seen you were mentioning 4 GB SD cards you have tested. Will SD cards of larger capacity also work?

I am asking since e.g. 2 or 4 GB SD cards are getting more and more difficult to find, and if they often are more expensive than larger ones.

You may want to add your answer to your FAQ, if you think this makes sense.

    Thanks!

  10. Sorry, no plans to get those back in stock. I could pursue Ocean Deaths, but would need a certain amount of interest before I import a bunch of games from Europe.

Carl, why do you list so many games which are not available any longer or which you do not intend to get back in stock anyway? I find it quite confusing...
