  1. Actually, Falcon is not mine. Just one man, who has another one loaned me for longer time - for testing purposes. I care, but not so much. I agree that Magic Boy is nice game. But my concern is hard disk adaptation and what goes with it partially - adapting for higher TOS versions. Before 2 years I knew almost nothing about Falcon. Still don't know many things. As Magic Boy is only second one, what I saw that has no sound (first was Starball, if remember well) all this sound problem is new for me. What I want to point is that people can learn things. All it is question of motivation and time. In case of Magic Boy problem is that it was released in 1993. So, for me it looks as very unlikely that fixing sound will be easy. Otherwise programmers would solve it, I guess. Maybe it is just disabled because of some troubles with...
  2. As our kind buggers spoiled original thread, I need to start another: Added latest adaptations at: http://ppera.07x.net/atari/fromhd.php OIDS - one of most anticipated games (although it looks pretty poor ) Mickey's Runaway Zoo - for small kids Car Vup - interesting platform Tai-Pan Famous Five F1 Tornado - fast 3D, low realism Fascination - erotic adv. Firestar - kill that mouse buttons Lemmings - no need to present Lemmings 2 - GameSave/Load works not (for now) Flintstones - patched for TOS 2.06 and 4.0x . Galdregon's Domain Fred Adaptations are 'as is' . Nobody except buggers complained about them. If you encounter some problems drop me a mail or PM. with some details about system. It there stays that works not on Falcon or that has errors I will not bother with it. There is still a lot of STs operational.
  3. I suggest another Atari ST forum, where is a special coding section and people with knowledge. : http://www.atari-forum.com/
  4. What bugs you see in the program ? Saying for some programm 'buggy' just like is not the way - especially as it may happen that you just don't understand everything in the way how it works. DOS can handle 800K floppies better, as driver is not limited as XP-s. And Windows 95 recognises and handles Atari formatted ones. But it is now mostly history, although some people uses it.
  5. Magic Boy is game from Falcon period. I did not patched it at all for Falcon. Why it has no sound with, I don't care. As I stated it already couple times - Falcon patching is not my concern. And you know that I never wrote that D-Bug is talentless. You have some other problems.
  6. Dear moderator. If you want avoid discussions like in this thread, please delete all posts what are from D-Bug and it's supporters + replies on. It is obvious that they will write only negative about mine SW, adaptations and will not miss in meantime to praise own 'releases'. Automation is not equal to D-Bug. Hole allows lot of games to run without any patching - so must be bad Usage is absolute easy for everyone who knows to read. It is part of new hard disk driver. Only 1 game of 3 mentioned works just with Hole. Mickey Zoo had still protection (version in GameBase ST), so I removed it. Tai-Pan needed new launcher. That's are facts dear spitters (never said talentless ones). I do not releases. There is no mine name in intros. If someone want to see what is done by myself let read 'ChangesMade.txt'. I do adaptations for my own use and fun. If someone find them useful, so better. If you don't like them or myself open new thread and write everything what want. But before it would be good to check some facts. So will not repeat comments like that about floppy rpm measuring prg. Or comments about using 'D-Bug' crack of OIDS, what exists not at all. Thank you.
  7. Some people suplied me images from original OIDS floppy. Was not Was was not in D-Bug, btw. You are really pathetic with your postings. Actually, I did not any hard disk adapting based on D-Bug crack. And I don't see some decent game worth of effort on their menus. Mr. Grz, you have no clue what talking about. How many adaptations you did? How you know anything about all it? Can you even count ? Another 3 game is added today...
  8. Situation was better some time ago, but even then was no site with all them. Not just that some disks missed (or were corrupted), but was no site with all groups (crews). At moment planetemu is the best, I think. One FTP with more images is down for some time.
  9. Clean hack ? What it should mean ? Hacking is not something considered clean. There was spoiled crack from Was not Was - with his name at several places. Some called it not-clean. But it was just something annoying, his crack worked from floppy. I just wanted to point that there is a lot of games which can not be patched by existing tools and ways (as ULS). OIDS was special - even it's Swoosh worked not without patching .
  10. Made OIDS hard disk adaptation - with trainer options (thanx Pugsy). Saves (maps) to hard disk. Done with brain, not ULS
  11. Quoting from their site: "Another game that took longer than the Earth has been orbiting the sun to fix. We had to disassemble the entire game and convert it into z80 and back before it would even start on a standard ST, and eventually ported it to ST-Basic and hand drew the graphics ourselves." I start feeling some compassion toward you. Maybe you are just utterly tired from so many work... Maybe some bad words were just because of beeing exhausted. Don't forget to sleep sometimes, and long.
  12. They start shitting again, then complain .... What you want from me ? Odas perhaps ? Can I post here something so, that no moronic comments from morons appear ?
  13. Space fighter is programmed HD compatible. What's next? Ishar? Space Fighter, crack what I get works not on Falcon because of launcher. Other crack requires some stupid typings. So, there was some work with... At least that game is worth to play on Falcon. In list is not 2 game what I added to table, already HD compatible and operational. What is next? Hmmm... let me see: Havoc, Mudpies, Tetris.... Thank you for continous support
  14. Enchanted Land - Very nice platformer with lot of colors. Perfect scrolling - HW dependant, so not for Falcon. Starquake - Spectrum classic. With trainer. Spy vs. Spy 2 & 3 - Technically not the best, but very amusing. Snoopy - similar to Garfield. Dive Bomber - help to win WWII . Space Fighter - Fast 3D, but far from original game. Trainer. Spindizzy Worlds - Control that damn ball ! Trainer. Sooty - Nice game for kids. Trainer. Magic Boy - Nice graphic, many colors, perfect anim and scrolling. Runs on Falcon, but without sound. Trainer. Extase - Something original. Added screenshots for games. http://ppera.07x.net/atari/fromhd.php or http://ppera.exofire.net/atari/fromhd.php
  15. Upgrade to 68020 will hardly find... Plus, it will be incompatible with lot of SW. STE to TOS 2.06 - replace EPROM chips with programmed with 2.06 . HD kit for STE is not available for long time. Maybe UltraSatan ?
  16. It may be drive failure, but not for sure - possible that error is on mainboard . FDC chip or something else... Even foppy cable, connectors may cause error. Replacing drive with some other (PC floppy drive) is not big deal. But you must set it as drive A for Atari. As some floppy drives have no jumpers.... see this: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=14049
  17. Did you really just do that? Certainly not. From my reply to christos is clear that I claim that Atari ST (PAL versions) RF modulator is good quality. And I saw and run a lot of Ataris. As you did not reply me on questions and did not give arguments, I'm over this 'RF' ranting. Let see another thing: how plan to do VGA color adapter's output ? What vertical freq ? What VGA resolution (mode) ? Border ? Overscan support ?
  18. I made new version(s) of DOS partition compatible IDE hard disk driver. http://www.ppera.exofire.net/atari/astams.php (Diverse driver versions for above interface). Main new feature is improved installer with dual boot. Usage is really simple: partition drive or CF card on PC, right after copy BIGDOS in AUTO folder of boot partition(s) - while they are empty. Then connect drive to Atari and run autoboot installer from floppy (1 short proggy). It will install driver for regular IDE and driver for twisted IDE (for faster work). Installation may be done on any of above IDE types, and after it you will have autoboot with regular or twisted IDE, without any driver reinstall. Of course, it requires some support in TOS. As is known, only TOS 2.06 has IDE boot (+ Magic). I made TOS patches for following TOS versions: TOS 1.04 , KAOS 1.4.2 , TOS 1.06/1.62 and TOS 2.06 . All patches support boot from regular IDE and IDE with twisted cable. Booting is very fast, with quick drive and cable type detection. Even if no hard disk attached (on machine with IDE IF) it will boot without delay. Only TOS 2.06 will work with popular drivers as AHDI, Hddriver, of course not with twisted cable. All other TOS versions and twisted cable will work only with mine drivers - reason is that other drivers need new XBIOS function for IDE read, what is present only in TOS 2.06 . In any case, best way for TOS patching is to have on-circuit programmable Flash EPROMs in ST.
  19. I'm sorry, but I don't have US ST(F)M, so can not check quality of them. All what can say is that ST had best RF pic. quality among most popular micros in Europe in 80-es. Why US people always mixes RF with color encoding ? "The MC1377 isn't exactly an RF designers dream. It's selling point was price." - you wrote it, while later went on RF modulator.
  20. But you argued, instead answering couple simple questions... Give me some examples of micros with better color encoder. If possible not from 2008
  21. Well, I didn't examine US RF modulators, but don't see why it should be different. On what TV channel in US it works (PAL versions RF modulators are on channel 3 (VHF low) ? RF designer's dream ? RF is radio-frequency part, and has not much with PAL encoder. 20 years ago MC1377 was good choice. And I know about some cheaper encoding chips used in other micros. What PAL/NTSC encoder chip would be better for Ataris around 1987 ?
  22. I don't agree. Atari ST has pretty good RF modulator, so composite is only little better. In any case it is a worth to make composite cable if have no way to use RGB out.
  23. http://www.algonet.se/~guld1/hardware/atari-scart.html
  24. Of course ! At 0 costs : http://www.ppest.org/atari/stvid.php Point is not in cable (what can buy) but in making S-Video output. On page given it is solved by modding of original PAL encoder.
