1. No, I agree. What you have to do to unlock the game is way too much IMHO.
2. Just make sure you don't put the PSP to sleep while in the game. And if you do, read the message that comes up after your game ends CAREFULLY. Many have lost their scores because of this bug.
3. That trick has been known for months. It's found on GameFaqs and every forum and thread about Lumines on teh intarweb. It still requires a lot of skill and speed. It's not cheating, just pattern recognition. If I really WANTED to, I could pause the game every block and use that time to decide where to put my block before it starts falling (Since unlike Tetris, you can still see the play field when paused.), but that'd take well.. forever and accomplish the same thing.
4. As much as I'd love a Zodiac.. or a Tapwave.. which is the company name and which is the product name? As much as I'd love one, I really do not want to carry yet another portable around with me just for portable NES games. And believe me, it's tempting to lay down $200 and $50 to get a Zodiac and DOOM, but no. I cannot. A GBA, a DS and a PSP are more than enough. If I had my ay, I'd have all three on one stupid little handheld, but I can't have my way. So I don't need a fourth handheld to worry about. My friend literally bought a Gizmondo just to see what it was about. I wouldn't want to have to buy that either. I would much rather just have my 2 main handhelds and GBA. Owning every console is one thing. You aren't carrying them all with you at once and you can switch between them. But you want to support 4+ handhelds at once, you better be taking a suitcase with you everywhere just in case you get a craving to play some Lumines when you finish with your Super Mario Advance. Oh, yeah. And no Mac compatibility? That's a no no.
5. If you spent a fraction of the time reading about the Zodiac that you spent on that dictionary post, you'd know. 858057 The link you posted goes to a page about "Used Iriver Ifp190t 256mb MP3 + Fm Tuner Portable Digital" 858064 I believe that's what they call a BURN! A used Iriver MP3 player won't let me play old NES games. Especially not on the little black and white LCD screen.
6. Sweet! Now all we need is a release date.
7. EXACTLY! Yet another meaning for the word everyone's getting so uptight about.
8. LOL I know what you mean. But I find the SP practically unplayable in games that need use of the L and R a lot. Mainly the FPS games like DOOM and Duke. Maybe this'll play them easier. LOL The smallest DOOM ever! So, how small is the screen really? 2" diagonal. What's that width and height? By the picture, it looks realllly small in comparison to the cartridge. Like.. SMALL. Wow. I'd get it just for the neatness factor.
9. Why not get one of these instead? 857381 How is an MP3 player going to allow me to play my old games on the go? Also, I like the name Revolution. The word doesn't mean what you all think. It's got two meanings... Anyone ever stop to think that maybe Revolution might refer to Nintendo finally seeing the light? Until now, they didn't think Online was worth it. They didn't think people cared about their old games. Now they've finally shown they know what we want now and are finally giving it to us, and all you can do is complain! Take a look at the second entry in the Thesaurus. Ever think maybe THAT is what Nintendo has in mind? The English language is a confusing thing.. Words CAN have multiple meanings. *sigh* Besides, Revolution is the same damn thing as 360. Why the hell isn't everyone questioning Microsoft's name? 360 is another word for Revolution. Revolution is another way of saying 360. Geeze, people. It's a name! Can we please just keep Nintendo threads about loving Nintendo's games and not about how they're going to go out of business because they can't compete? I love the logo. I love the DVD and the Cube disc as the two "O"s. I love the design. I love simplicity.
10. I love it. 'Nuff said. Not the "new" Game Boy I was expecting thoguh, i.e. new technology, super processor etc, but it's great. It looks as if Nintendo's trying to end the Game Boy line and push the DS as the future. I don't care. This just means I can concentrate on buying games for my PSP and DS and if I want, my GBA, and not have to worry about a new format. So it's fine. Besides, I like it, and I'm sure it'll come in colors eventually. Black or red or even solid white would do.
11. I watched the Nintendo press conference video and I must say they still impress me. It really is about games. I don't care if it has 4 Gigaquad processors and 16 controllers, if the games are shit. And Nintendo has at least one thing going for them.. Games. And with the ability to play any Nintendo game on the thing, I could say I'm completely impressed. Now if they could give us a way to take these "purchased" games, and archive them on an SD card as well as transfer them to the DS for on the go play, I would give up waiting for a Nintendo emulator on the PSP. Well.. as long as they make the A and B buttons NOT the A and B button. GBA games are UNPLAYABLE on the DS because of the locations. It's worse than using a DualShock controller. I actually have to play GBA games on the GBA because of that. I love the black and blue. The light is my favorite part. But it looks like a Sony design with it. So if they have to, I'd want a white with a white light. Yes. THAT would totally rock. But if they DID go black, they'd actually be the one black console this generation. For once, Sony and MS are going silver and white! Funny.
12. http://www.1up.com/do/imageDisplay?id=1897381 Wow. Hot damn, I love it!
13. I didn't understand a word you said. Anyway, the latest "Evolution" was the worst one yet.
14. Not in the main game at least. There are still the Vs. skins and if you didn't get them by now, the 10 hour and 20 hour ones. Not sure of others. If you got Lights, you just got the last normal mode Skin.... ...Lucky bastard. I really want Lights!
15. The camera didn't seem to be much of a problem for me. Maybe I'm just so used to it. Also, I'm not one to judge a game based on the way the camera moves. I judge it based on the content and what it makes me do. And Vexx just had beautifully constructed levels, a very nice distant horizon (Read: not as much pop-up as you'd think) and awesome sound. As well as constructive missions. It was really like Mario 64 on crack or steroids or something. That's probably another reason I loved it. It worked the same way one of my most favorite games did. It had great pick up and play knowing the controls would be almost identical to M64.
16. Muddy Graphics? What are you talking about? Which system did you play Vexx on? (Makes joke about an N64 version of Vexx) It looked beautifully crisp and clear on my Xbox version. I enjoyed the game, graphics, play control and music of that game as well as the level design immensely. Too bad the boss is impossible to beat. I loved that it was mostly seamless with nary any loading going from the main hub to the levels. And the time shifting feature was awesome. The original Turok at the time was a masterpiece IMHO. I guess after time, it just became dated. Especially since the latest one, Evolution, was pretty much the same graphics and play control we used in 1997. I'd much prefer a new Vexx. It was the best $5 I ever spent on a new copy of a game. I would have paid $20 easily. Best thing to ever come out of Acclaim IMHO.
17. Guess who owns the license. http://today.reuters.com/news/newsarticle....S-DISNEY-DC.XML Why Turok? Why not someone interesting like Vexx? THAT was a fun game, if only a Mario 64 clone. Turok hasn't been fun since the original.
18. I love the logo, but yeah, it's fake. Will we find out for sure next week? We'll find out for sure if we're gonna find out for sure. That's for sure. Can't wait for E3. I'm 99% sure I'll be getting a Rev at launch. About 75% sure I'll be going for a 360 now that Backwards Compatibility is all but 100% confirmed. And well.. Good going, Sony. I haven't seen any info on your PS3, but I'm 90% sure I will wait another 4 years to actually buy one... Unless it gets an exclusive title worth my money... Katamari is the only thing I can think of. Even that's not enough at $300. You go, Nintendo.
19. Solar Charger would work better. The long extension cord would be prone to corrosion and shorting out because of the salt water.
20. Thumb Strap doesn't work. I don't even use it.
21. My problem is I can't control my thumb that perfectly. I can't return my thumb to the center point. Using the touch screen causes the character to go all over the place. Screw touch controlling. D-Pad all the way!!!!
22. I hope they make a sequel that takes place in the next three episodes. It's only natural.
23. Hell yeah. And until someone does, it's not a Mac. It's just a PowerPC computer. I mean, they already got OS X running on the older Xbox. It should be a little easier now, shouldn't it? On a side note, speaking of hackers, hows come we don't have any good PSP hacks yet? The web browser is so old. I was hoping for at least an emulator or two by now.
24. No high score, but I did finally unlock Morning Beats. Too bad there isn't one for playing 30 hours.
