Without wading through this whole thread,I sold off all my 2600 collection last year,due to never using it because of the phono Jack connection and the thin power cord. Now I'm itching to play the games again. I'm sure the infrared controllers are terrible but I have Genesis controllers and can easily get CX40s anyway. How is the emulation of the games? Is it close enough for horseshoes?

Eh,I somehow have extra controllers so i'll just use them. The thing is her favorite games are Circus and Warlords.and it's just not the same.

I'm thinking about getting a relative Flashback 5 for XMas (the one with Centipede on the box) . Unfortunately,this person's favorite games are all paddle controlled. I saw the unit has control ports on the front,could I just give them my spare 2600 paddles to use,or will the plug and play not recognize the paddles?

If you go into the options,you can change it to buttons instead of touch screen. I can get the dude to throw the discus now SOMETIMES,but it's 50/50.

I just got New international Track and Field for DS,and this is going to sound like a stupid question,but what am I supposed to do in the discus throw? I can't even get my dude to throw the damn thing. I want to like this game,but I can't progress until I do this!

I have like 4 or 5 2600 games I've never played. Pele's Soccer is one,I forget the others.

I will be SHOCKED if anyone remembers this one,but when I was a kid I used to go to this one called Funky Monkey or Chunky Monkey or something at a little shopping center in Chelsea,MA. It was with a DeMoulas/Market Basket and an Osco Drug and some other stuff.

It amazes me that four pages in,we're still getting posts saying PC emulation sucks because you have to use a keyboard. You don't!

My copy of Mouse Trap says "Joey M." on it in marker,and I believe my friend has a cart or two from the same Joey M.! (We shop at the same game store.) I kind of like stuff like this,to tell you the truth. Adds a little character! We aren't baseball card collectors,we're game players! As long as it works and it isn't actually dirty,who cares?

How do you "butcher a controller" to use it on the PC? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You plug it into an adapter,just like you'd plug it into a 2600. How are you harming it? Of course,worst case scenario,you could buy a USB joypad. Mine was 14 dollars.

You don't HAVE to exchange codes. You can play random strangers easily.
