Thank You! These are nice effects...

No problemo. First, I load the gif(s) and 2 other image files into my image editor. After I resize the gif(s), I copy/paste the 2 other images as 2 new layers for each gif. One layer has a transparent background with solid horizontal black lines (1 pixel high, every 5 rows), which I then blur a little. The other added layer is made of solid vertical lines (1 pixel wide, red/green/blue/black), whose opacity I then set at around 50 percent. Some tweaking here and there, and then I save (usually as a png). Could you also share the 2 layers with us.

Has the Star Raiders .xex been converted to XL compatability. I have an .xex file of Star Raider rom but it is OSB [800 OS]. And I would like to get one that will run on the 800XL os. I have it also on an Atarimax Flash cart, but I would really like to start it with DOS.

I would like to order (2) two. One with the ribbon connector for XL PBI. One with XE connector and original XL plugin.

Poll: What do you consider the ultimate Atari-8 disk drive?
Roydea6 replied to wood_jl's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Must use my SIO2PC as my ATR drive. I do have a couple of 1050's and Indus drive's, but I only use them to transferr ABBUC and other Floppies to ATR's on my APE equiped XP. Mostly the 1050 is set as drive #4, and never boots a floppy. -
Candle Two, please. (HQ) (one for xl and one for xe) Thanks,

Read Directory with CNTL+L then add *.* to prompt.. press enter and you will get a directory arrow key to desired file and press return.. If file is a directory -- directory is open and contents displayed.. for selection.

Reunited with my old 800 - alot of help needed!
Roydea6 replied to slyde's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Atari keyboards don't like to be stored away, so they are crankey when woke up. Just keep typing and pressing the keys - most should wake up and start responding to your keypresses. The disk drive problems are extremely varied, but usally cleaning and SLIGHT lubrication on the rails guiding the head can help. Also check the felt pad that presses to the disk, sometimes it gets worn and doesn't keep the disk surface pressed to the media revolving over the drive head. Try to boot with the top half off the drive and verify that the disk is revolving to verify that the drive belts are still intact. If the problem eventually is found to be in the electronics then send to get repaired. -
Problem sounds like the color pot is not tuned, or if you are using a 5-DIN plug you may not have composite connected correctly. Composite is pin 4 on the 5-DIN plug.

returning to Turbobasic from DOS
Roydea6 replied to Marius's topic in Atari 5200 / 8-bit Programming
I found an Atr of DOS 2.5 with Turbobasic as an autorun.sys, and the DOS version return to Turbobasic with the B key. TURBOBASIC ENHACEMENT BY RAPHAEL JAMES ESPINO DOS25TB - Bkey.ATR -
Replying to self... Because I figured it out.. Nconvert is the file loader. Extracted all files and made a new ATR to load these files into with MakeAtr. Loaded the original POKEYDEM.ATR and ran the file N-Dos Convert and swapped disks and made a new file listing. Attached is My Resorted ATR.. N2POKEY.ATR Great program..

ATADIM305 is an atari file extracter also.. Not read sure where I got this program, but it is still being maintained. Also MakeATR version 06 seems to extract atari files from ATR's. Both programs are talked about here in this forum. You could do a search to find them. * Question-- Just what does Nconvert do? And what loader are you using to load these files.? These files are all new to me because they seem to be PAL and I only have NSTC Atari's. But they are great on the emulator.

If this is really functional, I would pay the shipping + a small amount to cover expences.

This effort might be a little easier but similar to the code you are using..and will stop when screen fills to 22 lines. 10 REM ALL TEXT MUST BE ENDED WITH THE RETURN KEY ON EACH <40 CHARACTER LINE. 100 DIM A$(44):GRAPHICS 0:POKE 82,0:? "}" 110 ? ,"A=READ - FIRST.TXT" 120 ? ,"B=READ - SECOND.TXT" 130 ? ,"C=READ - THIRD.TXT" 140 POKE 764,255:IF PEEK(764)=255:GOTO 140:ENDIF 145 ? "}":REM CLEAR SCREEN 150 IF PEEK(764)=63:A$="D:FIRST.TXT":ENDIF 160 IF PEEK(764)=21:A$="D:SECOND.TXT":ENDIF 170 IF PEEK(764)=18:A$="D:THIRD.TXT":ENDIF 200 TRAP 250:OPEN #1,4,0,A$ 210 INPUT #1,A$ A$:IF PEEK(84)<22:GOTO 210:ENDIF 220 POKE 764,255:? "PRESS KEY FOR MORE" 230 IF PEEK(764)=255 THEN 230 240 POKE 764,255:? "}":GOTO 210 250 CLOSE #1:POKE 764,255:CLR :POKE 82,2:END

It seems that it would be easier to pre-format the original text to have a [return] at the space before the line wraps at column 39.

Logo_Cartrige.rom.txt Just change name back to .rom and it should work... Roms dont seem to be uploadable...
-
Yes this is a very nice tool... Good on MyDos and SpartaDos.. Too bad it is not Density aware.. for 128 bps and Sector wise for smaller Partitions or disks. I did copy a 8MB atr to a 16MB Partition and then ran cleanup to fix the sector count..

Merry Christmas - Atari SAP Music Archive v3.4 is out!
Roydea6 replied to pseudografx's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Hi, Tonight I was playing some of the files in the ASMA archive. Drag&Drop onto the Windows SAP desktop shortcut. And then I accidentally dropped one of the files onto a different desktop icon called 'VLC media player' and it played the tune. I normally only play DVD's with this player. I knew that WinAmp would play SAP files, but this was a suprize.. http://www.videolan.org/videolan/ -
I wil want (2) two at that price.. Start a list...
