  1. The ESC key when not in a sub menu causes a crash in Atariwin800 plus. I got quite use to using the ESC key a lot for macros and testing ICONs. Using MyDOS from a directory.

Moved the ATR to C:\ drive and now I don't get a crash with the ESC key.

  2. I spotted NO garbage in the game, except the unpacking streaks. This file gets all the way into the Title screen, I waited a bit to see if it would continue --- then press START, TRIGGER, SHIFT, ETC... Shift caused the game to goto black screen and then nothing. The next try I pressed TAB and got IO noises then black screen. Is there a continue key?

    NTSC 240K Rambo upgrade.

  3. Just tested the MYDOS/H: again: can now see files when do a directory of *.xex etc but still cannot copy multiple files (error 165) using C(opy) "H:*.xex,"

If it's any help when copying a single file it works using "H:filename.xex,d1:filename.xex" but "h:filename.ext," gives the error 165 also.

MyDOS even has this problem with the APE interface using the 'MIRROR' drive. I noticed this problem years ago when trying to set up MyIDE partitions.

  4. Jon,

How do I get to the 10th bank in MyDOS? Using CTRL+SHIFT+1-9 I can get to all banks except BANK 10. I did notice that CTRL+7 pressed repeatedly will cycle through all BANKS to 10.

Woops! I found it CTRL+4+0. I noticed also that CTRL+5 will cycle through BANKS also.

    Great Beta......

    This testing done with Emulator.

  5. Any chance that you could supprt zip/rar or 7z files (since they take up less space on a hard drive) in the upcoming altirra release (it would be the first a8 emulator to support compressed files)

  6. Good news everyone, the PCBs arrived yesteraday and look great icon_smile.gif I'll add some photos tomorrow. Durning weekend I'll calculate the final price, and then I can start to ship the cards to their new owners icon_smile.gif

Would it be possible to see a list of new owners? I don't quite remember whether I just voted or ordered.

  7. I'm fairly sure that Altirra is handling bit 1 of PORTB incorrectly and switching in BASIC when that bit is used for extended RAM banks.

Aha, got it! Don't know how I missed that the first time. Please verify the fix:

    http://www.virtualdu...-1.7-test21.zip

    http://www.virtualdu...-test21-src.zip

This seems to have fixed the Memory setup, but now I can't get ALT+8 to open the printer output--- the menu drop down still opens printer output.

  8. Another problem arises here:

After installing any .cas file is associated to the atari-emulator: If I do just a simple double-click on one of my .cas files (from the windowds explorer), especially when it is a binary/autoboot, everything works perfect.

But now, if I want to open a .cas when the emu is already active it crashes. How's this possible? And how to solve? Anyone else having these problems?

So, until now I wasn't able to run basic programs, as these are not autobootable (i.e. double-clickable).

Yes I have had this same problem with Atari800win Plus 4.0. If emu is running a .cas file will crash, double click will start the cassette.

  9. with sio2sd drive

Freecell.com from Flop Magazine caused a crash.

Gyruss file version caused a crash.

    [/qoute]

These are now loading with the SHIFT+"key" to stop high SIO, and a couple more that were acting strange work with the 'shift+key'. Damn it sure helps to read documentation occasionally.

  10. I'm out of ideas. I tried flashing the MyIDE cart with a standard 1mb SDX 4.42 image and loading the myide.sys file from a 16mb APE partition. No dice. Wouldn't boot the cart.

I can live without image space and a man.com command, but I *need* a working Sparta game loader, or the whole thing is moot. I tried using mydos again ... blech. MyPicoDOs is fine for games, but doing any kind of productivity work is just annoying.

Are there any other Sparta compatible micro dos loaders out there?

Well SpartaDos 33a, and Bw130.dos works with MyIDE. They are both command line dos's and run much of the same productivity programs. Run MSDOS43.COM from the command line when you want games. OR have a third partition with msdos43 and swap it in when it's time to play, and then you can have IMAGE SPACE also.

  11. Old Spartados x file to switch sdx cart on --- I got it off a BBS or Compuserve or Genie back in the mid 80's

    8D E0 D5 ;Switch for cart

    4C 77 E4 ;Jump to coldstart

    I didn't realize that CP.COM was outdated.

  12. I got my MyIDE cart today (thanks Steve!) and have got most everything working well. I flashed it with the Spartados X 4.39 image from the Atarimax forums, which works great. I was able to format and set up 5 x 16mb partitions fine, but I have a couple of questions.

    1. Man pages. The 4.39 cart doesn't seem to have a man command installed. I downloaded all of the older man pages separately, but couldn't find an actual 'MAN.COM' file anywhere save on my SD X 4.42 cart (Atarimax 8mb flash). I TYPE copied that to a file, then copied it over to the MyIDE HD partition with the man pages, but it will not run. Is there a 4.39 compatible version of the MAN command anywhere?

    2. Micro Sparta DOS. This works great under the 4.42 cart, but with the MyIDE version (4.39 again), I get a 'Memory Conflict' error. Do I need another version or something? Nothing in the docs was able to point me in the right direction. Getting this running is essential for games. All I can find online is the latest version.

    3. I'm pretty sure I can't do this, but is there a way to access something similar to 'image space' (like the standard MyIDE software) with sparta?

    4. Stuff! Anyone have some links to non-game, productivity stuff. I have all of flashcatjazz' stuff, but I would like to find some sparta compatible utilities for sprites, fonts, pics, etc. Any suggestions?

Also, on tip for anyone else going the Sparta MyIDE route. I was able to extract the COPY.COM file from the 4.42 cart (use the TYPE command as there is only one channel on the CAR: device) and use it on my main partition (by the SET COPY environment variable). This is awesome, as the 4.42 version has the /R recursive option, which makes it much easier to copy hundreds of games and directories.

    Thanks in advance!

Q#1-- MAN information wouldn't be correct for 4.39 ELSE TYPE A:>MAN>DIR.MAN

Q#2-- no answer but a tip would be to copy XON2.COM to your game atr and ESC long names select xon2.com and this resets SDX4.42 without turning off power to reset CART.

Q#3-- I haven't been able to do this since forever.

Q#4-- Try the MyDOS related files many of them will work with SDX try some out and pick the ones that will work on the EMU

Tip #5 SET COPY=A:>CP.COM or you may not have heard of the CP.com copy utility.
