  1. If you like disk images from the Homesoft collection:

    http://www.mushca.com/f/atari/

perhaps you faced the same problem as I did.

Each ATR image contain several games and to find a game on SIO2SD you need to have the table of contents (GAMES.TXT or better GAMES_S.TXT) printed out.

I tried to extract the XEX files with Total Commander and ATR plugin, but the files have short names:

GACCRR.XEX for "The Great American Cross Country Road Race"

That's why I wrote a small HomesoftExtractor tool:

    http://www.abbuc.de/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=2784

    Manual:

    1) Download the ZIP files (GAMES001.ZIP, GAMES002.ZIP, etc.) and extract them (to ATR files)

    2) Download the GAMES.ZIP file and extract it (to GAMES.TXT file)

    3) Copy the HomesoftExtractor.jar file to the folder with GAMES.TXT and ATR files

    4) Double click on HomesoftExtractor.jar or start it from the command line:

    java -jar HomesoftExtractor.jar

After some time you should get over 3500 XEX files with long names.

I recommend to copy the XEX files on the SD card (for SIO2SD) with nvc.jar:

    http://sio2sd.gucio.pl/wiki/SoftwarePC_en

This way you will easily and quickly find the games you want to play!

For a game lover and SIO2SD user these two Java tools are beyond exciting .... I thank you also for the updates to the tool. This is good way to get playable content for the Maxflash Studio by classics aka Steve Tucker of A.P.E. and all his efforts toward the Atari Scene..

  2. First there was a perl application to build the xex files wanted into an ATR that is used to flash the MaxFlash cart. And now there is a downloadable file called Maxflash Cartridge Studio used to build the xex files into cartridge form ATR flashable with the Atari and a SIO2PC (SIO2SD,SDRIVE) and others..

  3. I want to use it through the PCLink interface.

Since I'm sharing a folder in Dropbox, it won't be a problem to convert the file on the other end, but I will need to check out the macro facility.

I am doing the save thing with Dropbox what line ending to want to end up with on the Dropbox side CR/LF or just an LF.

    TLW.zip

This is a macro that jfc made for me years ago and also the LW.SYS file that calls the macro while loading program...

  4. If anyone aside from TheMontezuma is interested in testing the release candidate firmware, please let me know. It appears to be feature-complete now but I have a couple of extra pairs of eyes on it pending release of the final build this week. :)

I would like to try the new RC on my 800XL [PAL] that has been an under achiever since the last release in December 1916.

  5. I need help with Input mapping so I can use the emulated Koala Pad with Altirria. I have it set but no amount of trying can I get the stylist to activate any of the other option is the screen.

The Cartridge file loads and shows the menu and if I press space bar I get a stylist icon but I need a way to get the icon to active the menu item.
