  1. Well everything seems to be working, maybe. I got a pack of DOS 2.5 diskettes, and they do boot, but the 810 can't write or format them. I'm assuming that's because DOS 2.5 was designed for the 1050. I was wondering if there was a cassette DOS I could use instead? I've tried TT-DOS, but I don't think it'll run on an Atari 400; it crashes both on real hardware and in emulators. Someone on this site actually ported Atari DOS to cassette... but it's DOS 2.5 so that doesn't really help! If worse comes to worse I could just wait for SIO2USB to get here, but I'm sure that'll take at least a month

Dos 2,5 has a format at single density H option to copy dos files to diskette and you can then boot it with an 810 Drive.

  2. I'm trying to load OSS Basic XE onto my Flash cart, but keep getting an error. I run the .atr image from my computer, which is connected to my XE GS via the SIO2PC cable. It starts the loading process, but once it gets to bank 10, I get a Disk Error on the XEGS. This happens every time. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Goto this web site for a basic xe but you need to have the MyIDE 2 cartridge and put it in the FAT32 area and load with the fatload that comes with the cartridge. Drive D1 should have you dos disk with extentions..

  3. Turn off the computer then You need to pull the jumper off and then rerun ant.exe has now gone to version 1.4. Turn on the computer and Reset menu items ... reboot then turn off computer and reinstall the jumper on the pins.

Also read the original thread about the upgrade.

Christmas of 1982 I got my KoalaPad and never did any decent picture files. But later the Kids came along and they did a lot of drawing (mostly scribbling)

But now I really like the Koala pad pictures. So I am constantly looking for more Picutre.ATR's

  6.

Bah. Maybe so. I purchased SIO2PC cable and APE something like 15 years ago and still have the cable (serial) -- but I see APE is $100. Not going to re-pay that with the SIO2SD en route from Europe, but it would've been nice to play with some games on this NTSC unit while I wait. Is there any other program that can use an SIO2PC cable to run anything, even if crudely?

Also -- is it definitely the case that if I were to pay the $100, signed drivers that will run under Windows 10 Pro 64 exist? (I would need to install the Keyspan USB to serial adapter I have and drivers to interface to APE with this serial SIO2PC cable.)

Also --- other suggestions for PAL Atari 8-bits (more than just the board)?

    Thanks.

If you have an APE serial cable.. If you bought it from the AtariMax website you should email Steve Tucker for the latest version 3.0.13 that has a software mode that will except the USB to Serial adapter..

  7. I wish these conversions were further along than they are but if I wait until I'm completely satisfied I might not have any picture before Christmas, truthfully.

    ATR with MyPicoDOS v4.06 menu

    attachicon.gifa8isa1_xmas_pics_2017.zip

ZIP with executables and customized palette

    attachicon.gifa8isa1_xmas_ntsc.zip

These are good pictures and good colors.

But still crash on exit with return or START key requiring a power off and power on to see the next picture.

I wish you would re-download the RasterView converter and replace the original version.

This is the only disk RPM checker I could find in basic .... Never used it I prefer the Binary RPM.
