  1. That's beautiful! So much for my lead...
  2. New score: 231,620 Gettin' closer to my personal best...
  3. OK, time for some tips (I don't remember reading these on the last HSC page, but I'm not entirely certain...) 1) On the early levels, you can outrun the bear, so don't be afraid to jump in front of him as long as you head straight for your igloo. 2) There aren't four horizontal lines on the playing field, there are five. Don't forget you can always jump to shore to escape a hairy situation, just don't linger long enough for the bear to getcha! 3) As the game gets faster and faster, you actually gain more control -- your jumps fly farther and you can really hook your guy in mid-air. You can even change direction (multiple times, if you're quick enough) mid-jump! So practice jumping over enemies, landing between them, etc. Don't get stuck by only jumping straight up and down. 4) If things get really hairy, take a breather, if possible, by resting momentarily in a row occupied by fish. Sometimes a moment's respite is all you need to regain your bearings and finish out the board. 5) Try to jump behind the enemy as they pass -- they can't change direction, so it will buy you some time. 6) If you're lucky enough to have racked up all 9 available lives, sacrifice yourself before entering the igloo. That way, you can maximize your time for that board and thereby maximize your score. Most of the points in this game are in the timer and once the game speeds up, you essentially get a free guy every board -- so you really don't need to sweat losing a guy on nearly every board. Just try not to lose two or three. 6½) If you plan to sacrifice yourself anyway, now would be a good time to go fishing... rack up a few extra points while you let the timer run down by gobbling up any fish that come your way.
  4. Not much -- it's mostly classic rock and such, but there's lot of strangeness lurking in my stock. Everything I have for sale is on my website which is 100% up-to-date.
  5. I have moved to a new URL: http://usedrecordsandmore.com I have edited my original post to reflect this change. Thanks for looking!
  6. Help me complete my 7800 collection! All I need to do so are Motor Psycho and Tank Command. Loose carts are preferred. PM me or post here if you are willing to part with copies of either of these. Thanks!
  7. What is it with eBay anyway? Why was your auction yanked, but this guy never seemed to get his homemade 4-in-1 porno repros yanked? Not that I think his auctions should get yanked, but what's the logic on eBay's end?
  8. That's a decent score for your first time -- I recall it took me a few days before I got the hang of it a couple years back when I first started. In fact, for nearly a week, my non-Atari-addicted wife was routinely kicking my ass (this is one of the handful of games she actually enjoys.) What's really strange about this game is, once you get good at it, it's the first few levels that are really hard. Everything... moves... so... very... slow... ly. When I sit down to play a round, I generally have to reset three or four times before I make it through the first board without dying. Once you get used to having to jump jump jump jump super quickly, it's hard to go back to the less demanding boards.
  9. Pardon me while I retake the lead... 191,720 BTW -- I really think there should be a bonus point or two awarded for being awarded the fish in your score...
  10. 1st attempt: 117,070 Glad this was picked! I looooooove this game -- and I wasn't around the last time this game was played in HSC. Be sure to follow that link to check out all the great tips from that event. My personal best on this gem is 268,270, so y'all better get your ice jumping chops in gear!
  11. It is The Tubes, at least according to Wikipedia.
  12. Finally broke 30K -- 30,760 That is... finally broke 40k! -- 46,170
  13. Got mine today -- #11. Thanks, Shawn! Oh... and it works just fine on my 7800.
  14. I've made two recent purchases from Video Game Connections and received excellent service both times.
  15. Improved score: 22,990 Tip: Make a bee-line for the free guy object as soon as it comes onscreen as it will disappear if you die before reaching it.
  16. Great game! It's gonna be a fun week. Anyway... my first entry: 19,510 I really love the way the brick bounces off you.
  17. If you're referring to the book, that is true. We're always working on the live online guide, however, and urge everyone to let us know when prices are "off". No big deal either way. It's almost impossible to maintain any kind of accurate price guide (print or online) with the way this market fluctuates. Which is exactly why I was hoping the experts here could provide me with a range. I'm certainly not trying to insult eBay sellers with my offers or queries. That said, it seems to me if this cart was worth what the seller thinks, it would've sold by now (especially given the extra attention this thread has surely brought it.) I also question the whole "make offer" option from sellers who get insulted when someone does.
  18. I hadn't -- thanks. Digital Press does indeed value it at $50.
  19. Thanks, fellas -- I really was concerned that maybe I was in the wrong here. Now, not so much. But doesn't anyone around here know what a reasonable value range is for Immies & Aggies so perhaps I can avoid such drama in the future? Would I get a better response if I started a new thread to address that topic?
  20. I completely agree. Especially with #1. I never did make it through the 5th level!
  21. I just made an offer on this copy of Immies and Aggies currently up for auction. In my message, I asked why they were asking so much ($60) when the last one sold for less than $24.00. Their response: "Because the other person was stupid. This is valued at 50.00 at least." Now, I honestly don't know if that's a true value or not - and I'd be interested in hearing some opinions about that - but I thought that response was such a turn-off that I don't really want to do business with this seller now. Which "other person" is stupid, exactly? The other seller? Sskatari, who won the auction? Or me, as I was the second highest bidder!? I'll tell you what's stupid -- insulting a potential customer! I admit to sending a lowball offer (well, $25, which is more than I bid in the last auction) but I was sorta flabbergasted by the response. Was it rude of me to ask the question in the first place? Am I just being oversensitive? And what really is the value of this cart?
  22. Once in a while, but I don't have a copy in stock at the moment. However, if you're just looking for "East Bound and Down", it makes an appearance on this album, which I do have in stock: REED, JERRY Texas Bound And Flyin' (VG++/VG+) AHL13771 RCA $2.00
