  1. The scene was sorta dry for a while and I haven't posted much on here, but about 2 weeks ago I found a master system power base for 5 bucks, and a friend from work gave me a bally astrocade. Then, yesterday another friend gave me a coleco gemini that looks like its in great condition and a radio shack TV scoreboard. That makes up for the dry spell I think. I also found gauntlet and ultima exodus boxed for the NES for about 8 bucks for both. Brad
  2. I believe I read that someone told to use toothpaste to remove stickers from cartridges and that many times it wont even harm teh sticker underneath as long as you don't get it on anything you don't want taken off. You can let it soak on the sticker you want removed. brad
  3. It absolutely boggles me that you all debate on whether or not the NES is a classic. It is so obviously a classic, I cannot see how one can dispute otherwise. I can almost see using the term neo-classic, simply if you want to group all of the atari, intellies, and precrash systems together, but the NES was what saved the videogame industry.it had a long life just like the 2600 and many games, many of which were original. I don't think many folks out there would dispute calling Super mario bros. ( 1, 2 or 3) classic, and if someone would dispute calling legend of zelda a classic, I feel sorry for them. Not to mention titles such as excitebike, punch-out, metroid, et al. Brad
  4. I need one of those hook-ups for the sega genesis model 2. IT bugs me that they couldn't have put teh regular rf hookups on it. brad
  5. I'd give you a 2600, an NES, and a sega genesis, and a playstation. Some combination of them at least. brad
  6. I would personally wait if they are 12 a piece. It took me a few weeks to find Contra once I started looking and I ended up getting it at a flea market for 3 dollars. If you're dead bent on getting one of the two I'd say get super c, because I've haven't seen it out nearly half as much as I've seen contra. Brad
  7. i got an atari 800xl computer with 410 tape drive, and power supply, and 3 5200 games: pole position, pac man, and dig dug for 10 dollars. I was pretty happy about it. I gotta clean it all up. Brad
  8. I actually recently did that myself. I bought a few 2600's and one had a broke switch so I had to replace it with one from another unit. It's an easy procedure, and a perfect one to get your own experience. Not too difficult. Brad
  9. I'm looking to get a colecovision and some 7800 games. Dont' care about boxes or nothing just a colecovision with controllers and a power supply. Hopefully some common games as well. Some common 7800 games would be cool. I have an extra NES for trade, Id include a power supply and controller. Probably find a game to throw in. I also have a set of 7800 joypads for trade, new. If anyone is interested private message me, or email me at rjewel00@pc.edu Brad Jewell [ 05-09-2002: Message edited by: wolfgang ]

  11. yeah, I see what you're saying phil. It kills me when there are people trying to pawn stuff off for 10 or even 5 bucks for a loose cart. The problem is there are actually people out there that pay it. I find it hard to deal with those people that want a million bucks for their games. I stopped at a side of the road yard sale on cars type thing, and this dude wanted 40 bucks for a genesis with 32x, and one game. I about laughed in his face. I just walked away. Brad
  12. this reminds me of the discussion that had been going on a while back about finding stuff in the wild against ebay. I don't see how anyone can not keep looking once they find anything in the wild. I get giddy when I see a pair of paddle controllers or a pac-man cartridge sometimes. It really pays off to be friendly at these places and ask questions. Sometimes they'll help you out. I've gotten 4 atari's (2 4switch, 6switch, and a junior. one had broke switches) for like 12 bucks in all. Plus he threw in a joystick, pacman, and a star raiders overlay that was just laying there getting ready for the trash. I love it when they throw stuff in. Good advice, phil. (just thought I'd add that) Brad
  13. Porky's is great movie. I used to love it when I was a kid. It's still enjoyable. Brad
  14. love the music, ben. great job. Brad
  15. quote US GAMES made squeeze box and it is awesome. I have to stick up for the maker for that game. Geez, I loved it. It had great music too. Brad
  16. Every once and a while I can get him to throw one in, but it just depends what mood he's in and what he has in stock I think. I'm going to try to go back and I'd like to pick up a few extra, butt we'll see what he has left. Later, Brad
  17. to answer your question, i bought the nintendo back in nintendo's heyday. I just found it wally or kmart a long time ago and wanted, ney, needed its storagy goodness. I'll take a pic of it and upload it, whenever I get out of school (2 weeks) and start working, and put up my webpage. You all be good, brad
  18. i went back and bought two snes's, two nes's, a snes controller, a nes power pack, and 3d world runner for the nes. I LOVE THAT GAME. All for 23 bucks. If anyone needs an NES for 5 bucks plus shipping , thats what I can get them for. It's ahrd to pass em up, but you can only buy so many. I love being a classic video game junkie sometimes. I just need some snes games now. I need allstars, mario world, and link. Take it easy all, Brad
  19. Right now I'm using a show box that happens to fit two rows perfectly. I also have a storage shelf that holds about twenty that nintendo made. The shelf looks awesome and also hols controllers and a zapper. Brad
  20. Assembly is very powerful, but the hardest language next to actual machine language to program. I'm actually in a class right now where I am designing a working compiler to convert a subset of C++ to assembly. It's the hardest class I've ever had. Brad
  21. I enjoy berzerk, and it was one of my faves back in the day. Sometimes, when you go back to things you liked as a child theyre not always as good. I've watched movies and TV shows that I adored as a child and some just aren't as good anymore. I still love my GI joes, atari, legos, and others.. But some things just lose their magic. I'll have to dig out berzerk to see if it holds up. Brad
  22. I haven't played brutal, but I have played syndicate, and probably would pick brutal if I had the purchase to do over. Brad
  23. 255 comes up a lot in networking. I.m doing work on packet sniffing right now, and the max you can give a packet is ff in hex, which is 255. memory restraints or something simmilar could be why it comes up a lot. I need sleep. enough packet sniffing for now. I hate reading hex. I'll be dreaming in hex now. Brad
  24. The one I have is a full size. Thanks for the info people. Brad
  25. I have a friend who I was talking to about how I collect classic systems and he started talking about his old c64, and he dug it out along with about 200 games, and started getting all excited about it. I think he still has it hooked up and is playing it after digging it out about 2 months ago. I like to see people get back into those classic systems. I play on mine every once in a while and enjoy it. It's got some fun games. Mule. and the ultima series. Brad
