Probably because you don't like it. I like shooters as well and he's right about the 7800, food fight is one of my very favs. There's also Galaga, purr, and all of PacManPlus's games - PacMan collection, space invaders etc - they are fricking amazing! ps - There's also beef drop, b*nk, space duel, and asteroids deluxe for the 7800 that IMO whup @$$. Should have said that earlier, it is on a 7800 that she is playing them on. I agree with Beef Drop and most of the others, esp PacmanPlus' games, need to buy the carts though, only have them on rom.

Okay I take that back, might be she just likes the shooters. She's been playing Phoenix and Galaxian alot here the last couple days too. Looks like I'm going to have to buy another Atari so I can play now. Emulation just isn't the same. Kenny

Seems she favors the Activision/Imagic stuff over anthing else, finding her playing alot of Fishing Derby also now...Dunno why on that one, I was never a big fan of it. Kenny

She just turned 16. And Loving Megamania & Demon Attack. She's flipped when I answered her question on how long until you get to the end, she's having a hard time understanding why there is no game endings. I've been telling her that back then we didn't play for an ending, we simply played to get the highest score that we could and to pass time. Actually Megamania does have an end. Once you hit 999,999 the game would totally stop. Be a long time before she hits that score, I don't think she's broke 20,000 yet, she makes it to the diamonds (Board 5 I believe) with one or two ships left and they quickly take her out.

I've always taken a beating from my daughter over playing all of the old Atari games that I do, Seldom do I ever touch a nexgen system. I would always here things like, "OMG dad what are you playing, is that an actual game?" or "Dad, the 1980's called and they want there games and cassette deck back." Well to make a long story short as they say....While playing Megamania for a couple hours, I got a phone call. I left the system on and went to take the call returning about a half an hour or so later to find my daughter sitting there playing. When I asked here what she thought she was doing playing something so old, her only response was...."Dad, you need to get more Atari games. Kenny

In addition to what Nukey said, this can be found in Stella in several ways through the debugger and cheat facilities: 1) Search all of RAM, then go back to the game, lose a life, re-enter the debugger and compare RAM for '-1' (ie, all locations previously searched that are 1 less than before). This will highlight $CB and $CE. Lose another life to narrow it down. 2) Once you've determined it's $CB, there are two options: a) trapwrite on $CB, rerun the game, and let the debugger break when $CB is changed. Then 'NOP' the operation as described by Nukey. The instruction is located at $F932 in bank 1. A cheat to 'NOP' this instruction is 01932ea1. b) set $CB to some constant value all the time, so it effectively never changes. A cheat to do this is cb86. I need to look into this, not really this but Stella's cheat system, I never have understood how it works.

System you make excuses not to buy
iratanam replied to Atarifever's topic in Classic Console Discussion
a NeoGeo I want one bad but I simply refuse because the carts (which also work in Arcade Cabinets) are still just to damn expensive. -
Still don't own one, still don't want one. If I wanna watch a movie I have the internet. Well crap now that I think about it I guess really I do as both my systems have dvd combo drives. Does it count if we have never watched a movie with it I actually still have a working BetaMax sitting out in the garage.

I'll second "Swordquest: Earthworld" I remember dying to have it, go it the day it came out, got it home, played it for maybe and I mean maybe 30 mins, and then giving it to a kid down the street for Laser Blast.

Thanx for the help. I won't have to buy a new 72 pin connector after all. I cut pin 4 on the lockout chip, and that took care of the problem. At least for now it has.
-
I took it apart and took the cart connector off of the MoBo and cleaned it really good (didn't help needless to say.) I do have the top off still and I can get it to work if I fidgit with the cart . Gonna order a new connector.
-
It blinks, so I guess I gotta find a new connector.

I use the keyboard for all of my emulators. I must be missing out I guess. Now the keyboard does suck for some emulators, but I just haven't found a pc stick or controller that I really like yet.

I dug my old NES out of storage (just so the kids wouldn't be hogging up the comp's playing with Nestopia all the time) and it will power on when I press in the power button, but the power goes back off instantly. It didn't do this before I put it in storage about 10 years ago, any ideas? Thanks

I used KEN, short for Kenny.

Curt is in touch with several GCC people, maybe he can ask them? I asked the few GCC guys I knew but none of them were involved in the arcade end of things. It's very possible that CO still exists. Tempest That would be cool, Temp you gonna ask Curt about it for us?

a 3 player option would be easyer and cooler like the hacked ik+ on the c64 Hmm... Must visit Google...Didn't know there was a hacked 3 player version on the C64

The original Impossible Mission on the 7800 is just that, it's Impossible to beat. That is unless the bug was fixed in a later release, I know there is a fixed rom that someone did.
