Month of Dreamcast Rev0s - Blind Luck

It gives me a couple of big advantages and I'm sure a few smaller ones that I'm not aware of. The reasons I have it are to be able to natively boot any region games and to not need a boot disk to use burns (really the same thing, but I have a lot of imports so I treat them as separate advantages). I believe the bios will let you do a few other things with the SD card readers, but I've never tried it. I had a guy on AssemblerGames mod mine for me, but from what I understand, he just added a second bios (stacked on top of the original) and set the mobo to use the new chip instead of the old. The bios is link83, so you can google for more info. I'll say it's well worth the cost (minimal) or effort if you enjoy imports. If there is any info I can offer off of mine, let me know. I'm 100% sure it's the one I bought at retail and has never been messed with. I would guess mine is a launch system. I bought it as a refurb from Funcoland in 2000. I'll definitely have to look into that mod. It would be great to be able to play imports without the boot disk. I'll be sure to do it on my other DC and not the Rev0! -

Shining Force II on Genesis. It's still one of my all time favorites. -

It's awesome to hear something Dreamcast related that I never knew about. I've always been a huge Dreamcast fan. What's even better though is this post made me go look at my Dreamcast and it's a Rev0. Thanks for the heads up -
The demo is out on XBL. Looks great so far. Just need to work on my simulation skills.

Not trying to hijack the subject but..... There are a lot of games I really like on the Wii. But what I don't like is the "funky new controls".... I don't want to wave my arms all around or shake the controller like a madman. I much, much prefer twin analog sticks and buttons. But in watching what Nintendo, MS, and Sony are doing, I fear the days of twin analog sticks are over and gaming is soon going to be dominated by the wave, shake, and swing method of control. I've watched the Project Natale video's and I am **NOT** excited by this method of game playing. I don't want to kick and swing my arms to beat Godzilla. I don't want to pretend I'm changing a tire with an impact wrench. I don't want to jump in the air on my pretend skateboard. And on and on. I've watched some Sony Motion Control video's and read articles about it and again I'm **NOT** excited by the thought of having to swing my warms, shake like a madman, or jump - kick- twitch during my game play. Others may like these "funky new controls" and that's cool. They work well with some types of games, such as bowling or WiiFit or Tennis. But speaking only for myself, when I have the urge to play Halo or Resistance, to play Ratchet & Clank or Resident Evil, to play Call of Duty or Uncharted, I just want to sit in my comfortable chair and GAME. As I said, I didn't mean to hijack the thread but when I read your above statement, I had to jump on my soapbox and rant. Damn you Nintendo!!!! Mendon I don't think that's something you'll have to worry about. I can't see the core of "regular gamers" out there in 360/PS3 land jumping on the waggle control bandwagon. Project Natale looks like crap, and Sony's motion control looks better, but it's just isn't impressive as a whole. I can't see either of them catching on. They're both just attempts at saying, "Hey we can do waggle controls too!" Games that are that motion control intensive are better left to the Wii or arcade machines. MS and Sony can try to put out motion control systems/games, but I they'll be sorry when the end up seeing sales of those items tank.

Well once we can get a foursome together, it's Firefight time! I've been itching to play with four people.

The Orange Box definitely, or maybe something like BioShock.

What 's your most favorite system of all time?
16-bit replied to lushgirl_80's topic in Classic Console Discussion
This is such a tough question to answer. Especially since it's just one. Gotta go with the Genesis. I'm tempted to pick NES, but for me the Genesis has the fun games AND the best childhood memories associated with it. Hours and hours of every Sonic game, epic Super Tecmo Bowl matches with friends, Toejam and Earl, Shining Force, Streets of Rage, Vectorman, and just all around fun. -
Voted for NES. Would love to have one for the PC, especially if it's affordable I also 2nd the Genesis idea, if you decide to go that route.

That's some cool stuff! The Army also uses adapted 360 controllers for two of their UAV aircraft. I remember reading an article long while ago that there was a piece of medical equipment that was manufactured using old Jaguar cases too. **Edit*** Found it. It's piece of dental equipment from Imagin Systems called 'The Hotrod'. I remember reading about it in GamePro or something, but aparently it's old news around here. Old thread from the Jag section

But if you couldn't flip vehicles you would hardly be able to get through half the levels. I really enjoyed how they made it feel so different from Master Chief. I died a whole lot of times in the first level or two before I got that rechargeable shield Spartan mindset out of my head. Even large groups of grunts can give you trouble as an ODST. The Hunters are the worst though. If you were low on grenades or you didn't have a gravity hammer, watch out! Half the time I just ran. Plus they're smarter! I had one chase me up into one of the buildings and kill me.

Forza 3 Modern Warfare 2 Dragon Age Origins I'll probably end up getting Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City too, since I never got around to getting Lost and the Damned anyway. I so WISH I could get Katamari Forever, but sadly it's only for PS3 *sigh*

Anybody else get screwed on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2?

Wow, that sucks. They pulled that same type of B.S. with me before too. When I reserved Fable 2 you were supposed to get a card for a free download of the Fable:Pub Games XBLA game. They "didn't have them in yet" when I made my reserve and told me to come back in a week or so. Upon returning, they were out of the download cards. GameStop just blows, but unfortunately sometimes you can't help but shop there. When there's a release of a big game, you can't always count on being able to get it at Walmart or Target. Plus no other places get the nicer collector editions. I've tried to cut back on my shopping there. I'll usually only buy my new must have games there. Anything used I'll get on eBay, which is always cheaper anyway. -
Ditto on the controller price drop idea. I'd like to be able to get another 2 remotes affordably. Of course then I'd still need four Wii MotionPlus add-ons.

I second this, nothing smells as good as new magic cards. ... New Magic cards do smell wonderful. Glad to hear I'm not alone on that one either

System link will do from 2 to 16 people. The game is great btw and I really enjoyed it. Just finished the campaign last night. It definitely does not feel like your playing an expansion or a Halo 3 rehash. The storyline is all self contained and the game play is slightly different than on regular Halo. Since you're not Master Chief, you can't be so gung ho with groups of enemies due to the lack of shields. My only gripe is that the Firefight game mode doesn't support matchmaking. Meaning you can't get matched up and play with random people. It has to be with friends or recent players. Also Zeptari1, the load times aren't bad at all. They're actually pretty quick. So installing to the hard drive isn't really necessary.

What's your gamertag Video? Foxy and Moycon, sent you guys requests too. IRON MAN XV is mine. If we can manage to all be on live at some point, it would be perfect for a Firefight match.

Game On! WOOOT! Hopefully see some of you online in the next few hours.

In traditional Halo fashion there are a number of Gamestop stores running midnight releases for ODST. Here's the list for those who have a reserve in at GS: Midnight ODST Releases I'll be grabbing mine @ midnight! Anyone else?
