According to CNET, Sony is going to sell a stand to allow it to sit vertically. Otherwise it's designed to sit flat out of the box. They also removed the ability to install Linux or another OS. Oh, and no backwards compatibility either. I might have considered getting one at some point if they had included it.

However, you can look forward to the new Secret of Nihm Movie. Article How good it will be is another story.

Yea the collector's edition w/ the controller is $100. I think the game itself will be worth the regular price though. I'm looking forward to the side storyline and all the co-op aspects.

Just saw this on Gamestop's website. The collector's pack comes with a special edition 360 controller. Pretty cool looking. Don't know if I would get one though as I already have 4 controllers, but it is tempting. Also if you reserve Halo 3: ODST you get a code that allows you to play as Sgt. Johnson in the new co-op mode.

Finally got around to playing the demo. WOW!!! If the rest of the game is like the demo this game is going to be awesome. I knew about Mark Hamill, but I had no idea that they were reuniting the entire cast of the Batman animated series! That alone is half the fun. Can't wait for this one!

It seems to have come down in price from what it used to be. Lately it's going in the $30 price range on eBay. It used to be you couldn't find it for under $40

Fixing it is simple. There are a few suggestions in this thread. If you decide to buy a new 72 pin connector, you can get it off of eBay. Also, there are a few tutorials around for disabling the lockout chip if you Google it.

I'd vote for Dreamcast, but if you have good memories with the Jag then why not go that route? Ugh, that's awful. Sounds just like typical Gamestop too. The one near my house is usually full these types of clerks. I used to drive to an EB Games a few towns over just because the staff was nicer.

The easiest way is with a boot disk. Either Utopia or DC-X(if you want to buy one). Otherwise you can find modchips if you want something more permanent.
