Voted for #1. I like the classic style fight the evil wizards kind of thing. Neat idea with restoring the colors and starting in a world of grays.

Article: Fifteen Classic Game Console Design Mistakes
16-bit replied to VectorGamer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Not a bad article. They seem to dump hardcore on all the older classic systems though. Also I was never bothered by the "big bertha" Xbox controllers. -
Great person to deal with. Ships items fast! Thanks

I think some of you are blowing it out of proportion. There's really not that many ads, or at least what I would classify as an ad. Sure Netflix usually has a slide or two of what movies they are currently promoting in Video Marketplace, or there could be a "Doritos is offering you a free arcade game download", but other than that it's not really that many actual ads. Xbox All-Nighter, Community Playdates, or 1 vs 100 announcements are hardly what I could consider ads. Plus, I'm usually interested in what the Deal of the Week is, and what game preview they have to show. Granted, there's stuff that might not be up everyone's ally. Family game night with Wall-E, or get your avatar a new hat type stuff, but is it really bothering you that badly??

Used to be that you could find replacement sticks on eBay too. It's definitely cheaper than getting a whole new controller.

Gotta cast a vote for Sonic as well. Ever since Sonic Adventure 2, the series has gotten progressively worse and worse. Granted, Sonic Rush for DS was good, but that's only because they went back to 2D. I don't think it's possible to make a good 3-D Sonic game anymore.

1. Super Mario Galaxy 2. Elebits 3. No More Heroes 4. Mario Kart Wii 5. Excite Truck

I can understand them keeping the Arcade since it's at such a good price point, but if they want to make it a big seller they need to make the hard drives more affordable or at least make larger memory cards. Good point on the two controllers. That's what the Elite should come with besides the 120gig drive. Not just the "free HDMI cable".

The 12 month is only $50 and if you check Amazon, they often have sales where you can get it for even cheaper. So in the end paying $4 a month for a well made network like LIVE is totally worth it IMO. On the original topic, I hope they don't do internet on the 360. Somehow I could only see that making things worse. If I want to go online I'll use my PC.

Don't know if it's old news for anyone or not, but I figured I'd spread the word. Hopefully this will end up with a nice price drop for the Elite. Engadget link

Maybe if they made a Rock Band where instead of the instrument playing and whatnot, it would be a simulation game were you have to guide your band to stardom and go for the longest career possible. Try to keep your band members from becoming drug addicts and alcoholics, keep away from groupies with STD's, negotiate contract deals with the record execs, etc. That would be fun.

My NES Died... NES Front Loader or Top loader?
16-bit replied to Frizo's topic in Classic Console Discussion
If you would take everyone's advice and clean your system/disable the chip, you'd save a good bit of money. Money that could be spent buying more NES games instead. -
Since it's not your fist one I'd say leave it sealed, but sell/gift it to someone who doesn't have a 7800 and will really appreciate it, so they can open it. Then, try to be there when they do open it, so you can see the rays of light shine out of the box. Mmm, new electronics smell, classic style. It deserves to be opened.

Dreamcast Vanishing Point game stops at Accessing Data
16-bit replied to calfranklin's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You could try cleaning the disk or taking it somewhere to get it polished/refinished. Otherwise, it could just be a bad disk. I had a copy of Hydro Thunder for DC that did the same kind of thing. It just crapped out on me one day, without any obvious scratches or damage. -
What parts are they cribbing from Chromehounds? Also what interview did you read? The one from IGN makes it seem really promising. When two of the main people involved with the game are a co-founder of FASA and a guy who grew up playing the pen-and-paper(BattleTech)game, that just seems like a good situation. If anything, it's not going to be a MechAssault 3.

Non-stop The Bigs2. Best baseball game ever! Also a little Battlefield 1943 mixed in.
