I don't care what you all say. I *heart* my 360, and I'm sure it will still be running in 20 years, just like my Dreamcast (almost 10 and still going). Or... I'll buy parts to fix it so it does. So nyah
Btw, still have love for the 2600 too. lol

On a side note any idea if you can play US games on a Japanese Saturn? I wouldn't mind getting one myself. Those white ones are nice looking! You can not play US games on a Japanese Saturn unless you either use a cartridge like an ST-Key or you region-mod the system (which is pretty easy and only requires off-the-shelf parts).
Chris
Excellent! That's what I was hoping to hear. I knew the ST-Key worked for US systems, but wasn't sure about overseas ones. Might look into the region mod too. Thanks for the info!

I feel your pain. My Saturn started doing the same thing not long after I bought it last year. Granted, it's not an import, but it still sucks. Like you said replacement parts are few and far between online too.

Yay?
lolMaybe I'm misreading the article, but it seems like it's a little misleading...The Atari VCS sold over 30 million units.
Microsoft has shipped over 30 million XBox units. How many of those sit unsold on shelves and in warehouses, I wonder?
Yea, it doesn't make much sense. They even state later, " As of July 27, 2009, VGChartz.com's weekly updated total shows 17.82 million (17,821,823 to be precise) XBox 360s sold in the American continents. While the NPD Group's accumulated totals show under 15.48 million in the U.S. all alone (15,477,100 is actual lifetime estimate). "
You'll get there eventually 360...

Is the text of the cards set, can you increase the size to read it easier?Yes you can choose a card and it will pull the card out and front and center zoom.
Very nice for reading cards.
Also when damage is being dealt between creatures, the cards are both brought up for you to see up close. Not quite as close as the zoom view moycon mentioned, but they should be readable on a 20" TV.

That's awesome! I'll have to look for one after this Christmas.

It glitched many a time on me but I enjoyed defeating each and every Planeswalker lol...One thing that really ticked me off was their phases... in actual magic tournaments you would get many phases
Untap, Upkeep, Draw, Main Phase 1, Attack, Choose Attackers, Defend, Choose Defenders, Main Phase 2, Cleanup/Discard/End of Turn
In this game you get 5.
Begin, Main, Attack, Defend, Main/End
ALSO, you could not choose what land to tap. It was tapped automatically.
Yea, the lack of phases takes a while to get used to, especially with activated abilities like regeneration. I think there was also one instance where I couldn't play two cards I had in hand due to the auto land tapping.
Again, I guess it comes down to simplifying the game enough to get more non-magic players into the game. It's not a bad start for now. Hopefully at some point they'll have some new decks available as downloaded content. It would add some more variety.

Ditto on The Orange Box. Good mix of shooting and puzzle solving.

Sounds pretty cool. I'd definitely be interested in buying one of the two. I'll be looking forward to your comparison nathanallan, whenever they're both on the market.

What's getting me recently (recently, I've been getting into the NES) are the graphic glitches. Why on earth do the games seem to deteriorate? You can tell immediately when you plug a game in and see the title screen. Take Castlevania for instance, right when the bat on the right side starts flapping it's wings on the title screen there is a vertical line that follows him. Others look like puke because nothing is matching up.They are damaged carts. Yeah I cleaned them, no effect. I'd say Colecovision is a close second when it comes to the "percentage of it not working on the first time?" question.
What's sad is that the SNES is probably the most reliable cartridge system. It took Nintendo a video game generation to get it right. Plug it in, turn it on. It works. 99.9% of the time.
Do the NES top loaders have these graphic problems?
...
This is what gets on my nerves these days with the NES . It takes forever to get a lot of the games you find in working condition (if they end up working at all). It's not like I don't clean the games when I buy them or clean the system on occasion, but it seems like once they sit for a while you have to go through the whole process again to get them working.
I grew up mostly with NES as a kid and have a lot of fond memories of playing it. I loved it to death until I got my Genesis. However, these days when I sit down to play some old school games, I want to be able to put the game in and play. I actually tried to play my NES and just gave up after the 3rd or 4th cart with "the blinking light". I ended up playing some Dreamcast.

... So you get things like date rape, rape in general, Maxim Magazine, and other hateful, disgusting expressions of straight male sexuality....
What's wrong with Maxim?

Just downloaded this game. It reminds me of Star Wars: Battlefront (never played any of the other Battlefield games). It's Imperial Japan VS the United States. 3 soldier classes and up to 24 players in a game. Capture flags points on the map to win. It's not too bad for 1200 MS pts. The graphics are good, especially for an Arcade game. I also love the destructible buildings and landscape. The only issues are that the vehicles are a little a little quirky (especially the planes), and the shooting accuracy seems off at times. Otherwise it's a fun game.
Anyone else give it a try?

1. I don't think that's true. The easiest way to play imports without modding is using a boot disk. If you Google search "Utopia Dreamcast", you should come up with a few places to get it. It's free, so it's better than paying for a DC-X Import Game Adapter.
2. Not sure about the English subtitles, but I wouldn't count on it though. Most likely just has Japanese subtiles. In case you were wondering, the only difference in the birthday edition is that it comes with a disc with music from the game, Sonic History Book, and a gold medal. The game itself is exactly the same. So if you're just looking to play it's easier and way cheaper to grab a US copy of SA2.

Just bought some SMS games from Nimtene. Well packaged and super fast shipping! Thanks again!

Had an original Pro w/ the 20gig, then when it died. After that I got an Arcade (Jasper) that came w/ an extra controller and hard drive on black friday special. I'm loving the Arcade more than my old Pro. It's a lot quiter!
I'll eventually get around to picking up a 120 gig drive. Running out of room on the old one.

I figure they are probably on par with these:http://www.amazon.com/EyeClops-Vision-Infr...1926&sr=8-7
Both see around 50 feet. 162 reviews and they have 4 stars. If they do work as well, I think it's night vision > toy batarang.
The batarang is cool and will look good on display, but these function for real. If you throw the batarang, I expect it won't come back.

See? Now we can get the regular versions of both games. Take your pick of Batarangs

WOW! Frikin' Night Vision Goggles!! lol
I almost thought it was some sort of spoof or joke when I clicked the link. Definitely best special edition bonus ever.
Goggles > Batarang

They go for a pretty good price on eBay. Last year it took me a few weeks of auctions to finally win one w/ some games at an affordable price.

Here's Mine:

-
CoD: World at War (plus the Natzi Zombies mode).
Scene It - makes for a good multiplayer/party game.
Also any of the Smackdown Vs. Raw games. It's not split screen but there's a lot of multiplayer modes for up to 4 players (royal rumble, fatal 4 way, tag team, etc).
Maybe even Culdcept Saga if you're into that type of game.

If anything I would say Civ Rev is more on the AoE side. It really only gets fast (often too fast) on the higher difficulty settings like Deity. Sometimes certain races will declare war on you early in the game, but you usually have plenty of time to prepare before their forces arrive.
Also, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed just dropped to $20 new, so I'm sure it's pretty cheap used now. That's another good one.
-
Ditto on Fallout 3 and CivRev.
Though personally I find it hard to save and continue later in Civ, only because it's so hard to put down.
The PGR3 that you have is another good choice. You can't save the middle of a race, but none of them are that long anyway. You can squeeze in a race here and there when you have time when you work through career mode or just work through the arcade challenges.
GTA 4 might be one to consider getting. Plenty of save opportunities and it's just fun to play, even if you're not working on jobs for the main story. It's going for around $20 now on eBay.
Also Orange Box (if you like shooters) and Viva Piñata (if you want something a little more casual). Both are cheap these days on eBay
