  1. Atari 5200 (when I saw that console in 1982 I thought it was the coolest looking monster of a console) Sega Genesis Model 1 (still my all-time favorite system) Atari 2600 6-switch wood-grain (my first video game console in the early '80's) Odyssey 2 Atari 7800
  2. Got two original Sega Genesis 3-button controllers cheap that were a dirty mess - I LOVE the original Genesis 3-button controllers! The Start and fire buttons didn't work and the D-pads barely moved when pressed. After opening up the controllers (and it took a good while to get some of the rusted and mostly stripped screws out) I washed all plastic parts, cleaned all contacts multiple times, used a few sprays of electronic contact cleaner, re-assembled, and they both work fine now.
  3. Choosing two of my favorite zones each from Sonic 1,2, and Knuckles Sonic 1: Green Hill Zone, Marble Zone Sonic 2: Emerald Hill Zone, Hill Top Zone Sonic & Knuckles: Sandopolis Zone, Lava Reef Zone
  4. Thanks so much for the ROMS and manuals. And a Happy and Healthy New Year to all of you!!!
  5. No doubt Axelay is a top 16-bit shooter and one of the few excellent shooters on the SNES. Like Gunstar Heroes for the Genesis, it's too bad a sequel was never made.
  6. It's something like 5 years ago at this time that Retro-bit and Sega announced a new Nomad prototype. Another one for the "vaporware" column in video game history. Reminds me back in the early 90's when a SNES CD-ROM was announced...
  7. Enjoying my top 3 Sega Genesis games today: Gunstar Heroes Sonic 2 NHL '94
  8. Frogger - Genesis Sonic 3 - Genesis Madden 93 - Genesis (got a punt block for TD by Miami against Dallas) Madden 93 Miami72 vs Dallas77 Punt Block for TD.avi
  9. This was played on the Kega Fusion emulator last night. Didn't feel like setting up a Genesis system and wanted a little Sonic 1 playtime before shutting down my PC. The original Sonic The Hedgehog on the Genesis is one of my Top 5 video games of all time to this day and I have the original cart with along with the system in its box from Dec. '92 (bought from Electronics Boutique for $119.95). As for MUSHA (also among my Top 5 video games), I owned two original copies complete in box and sold them for a few hundred $ each probably around 10 years ago. I got very lucky acquiring one copy as I bought a Genesis system (complete in box) with a dozen or so games all complete in box and MUSHA and Mega Turrican were included. I paid around $100 for it all from a local guy who was moving and he posted it on Craigslist. That was a very rare stroke of luck because that haul would easily go for a good $700 today, if not much higher. I do, however, own a Repro copy of MUSHA with its box, manual, and extras that I bought about five years ago from a guy who was doing high-quality reproductions of Genesis games using the standard ROM boards, not the Chinese-junk thicker boards that can damage the cartridge slot and as far as i'm concerned it's as good in every way as the original MUSHA cart. I paid something like $20 for it. Here's a few pics of it...
  10. It's Sega Genesis night! MUSHA Rolling Thunder 2 Sonic The Hedgehog 1 (look at this marvelous pic from Zone 3 of the Starlight Zone!)
  11. Is anyone doing Mattel handheld game repairs?
  12. GamePro was a very good magazine too. Many copies is the early 1990's were huge and covered lots of games in an issue...
  13. Electronic Gaming Monthly. Mostly the 1992, 1993, and 1994 issues when the Genesis and SNES were in heated competition and the games were pouring into the market. EGM had the best layout, reviews, and images of the 16-bit games and hardware. I still have mine from those years and look back at them periodically and have been motivated to try games I never played before. Here's a few images...
  14. River Raid: Atari 2600 NHL '94: Sega Genesis Sonic The Hedgehog 1: Sega Genesis

  16. New and Mint, factory sealed. This has been in my personal collection since the 1990's. $100 with free Priority Mail shipping within the U.S.
  17. 1000% agreed! Best video games, movies, and music. The tight designer jeans (worn by girls, of course) looked GREAT!!
  18. Really nice job, the classics keep getting better.
  19. I've found that the Mega SD plays every ROM (.md, .bin,. smd, .gen) while the MEP doesn't. Also every game Genesis genie code i've tried works on the Mega SD but not the MEP. It sucks that Terraonion stopped supporting the Mega SD - if they would only do a firware update to allow SMS save states it would be far superior to the MEP. I'm very happy with the Mega SD but it could be so much better.
  20. I've got a Sega CD marathon going on today with my Mega SD cart. Would like to see another firmware update. Hope Terraonion didn't drop support for it.

  21. Thanks for the link. There's a download of the snapshots in folders for each system. I assume each snapshot needs to be placed in the same directory where its rom is located. I'll check that out.
  22. Does anyone have a guide to displaying snapsots for each game on the GUI for the Mega SD? I love this cart and Terraonion said they are working on a firmware update to include more options for SMS games like an in-game menu and save states. Thanks.
  23. Can anyone explain to me how to get the cheat codes to work? I have the latest version (SNES9X 1.60 and 64 bit). I've tried entering the codes manually as well as selecting codes from the included list and they don't work. Even resetting the emulator after loading a game and then selecting a cheat code won't work.
  24. Would be nice if it included the library of Sega CD games. Downloading ROM's from the internet seems to be a thing of the past.
  25. Maybe one day we can play Sega CD's on the Sega Saturn console.

I've always felt that Sega should have made the Saturn be able to play 32X carts to avoid the instant obsoletence issue...

      save2600

^ probably would have made a nice segway and softened the sting of the super short shelf life of the 32x.

No one wanted to make Sega Saturn games when Saturn was in stores, so why would they port things now? It's supposedly hard to program.

I'd like Sega CD games on solid state, no spinning.
