  1. You can find a scan of that entire catalog (and more) in my Facebook group! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1367...gid=26887025879 I downloaded the requested page for you though and uploaded to Flickr for you:
  2. Uhm OK, thanks for all your input people, great to get advice form the experts, I am half tempted then to simply remove the RF shielding for both the look and easier future access should I choose to upgrade, but one final question then : Is there any danger or downside to removing the shielding completely?, I mean it was put there for a reason correct?
  3. More importantly, is it dangerous? Do I or rather can I DO anything about it? Should I bother?
  4. So it seems I need a floppy drive for my 520STm since most games and programs are on floppy. What is the recommended external floppy drive for this machine? Are there more than one? Are they hard to come by? Not ready to buy at this time as I am broke but need this info as I am considering in future (perhaps a couple months) THANKS as always!
  5. First I want to make it clear, I am not a programmer at all, just a game player and fool around with various programs. Do I need an floppy drive for my 800XL? Or are most of the titles on cartridge? Is it worth it and if so which floppy drives are for the 800XL?
  6. Of course it didn't take long to have a peek inside the 800XL and 520STm I just received, in both cases I just wanted to pop the covers off, not too dusty inside but the metal shielding seems fairly rusted, in this typical for such old computers?
  7. Ah thanks for the info! It will do for now then, kinda broke LOL! The 800XL seemed to look pretty good through the RF!
  8. If I run games or programs once on the ST will it display those OK on a TV in color?
  9. Well yesterday I received my first ever Atari computers!!!! First and foremost an Atari 800XL, this came with just and PSU and joystick and Dig Dug cart along with an RF cable with one of those cable adaptors to replace the switchbox. I can confirmed that it runs and plays perfectly well. Next an ATARI 520STm, fortunately it is one of the later models including OS in ROM and RF out built in. That is all I have so far, I have PSU yet but one is on the way (thanks walter_J64bit! ) so I have not tested yet. I guess I will need an Atari monitor for the ST and I assume some type of external floppy disk drive? I assume most ST software/games are on floppy disk? It appears to have a cartridge port on the side but I assume it is not backwards compatible with 8bit, is there anything useful on cart for ST's? Anyway these are my forst Atari computers ever in my life. Like many back in the day I went from Commodore 64 to Amiga and never crossed over to the Atari side of the tracks. These days as a collector and hobbyist of classic consoles and computers I new my collection would not be complete without some Atari computers. I must say first of all these things are heaveier than expected! Seem very sturdy and well built, I am assumming quality was high with Atari computers. I also like the look of both machines, both definitely can use some cleaning up and I hope to find the ST functioning well when my PSU arrives. I am so glad to finally own some Atari computers along with my Sears video Arcade II and Atari Flashback II, I now feel I am a "real" Atari owner and fan. Any opinions, comments, suggestions are greatly welcomed and appreciated THANKS!
  10. Were these the fellows that made the unofficial versions of Donkey Kong and Popeye for Amiga? If so they rocked!!!!!!!!
  11. Well a CBR file is just a pack of jpeg files, you can actually unzio them with WINRAR but the better option is to download Comic Book Reader, think of it as Adobe reader for CBR files! Much better than displaying each jpeg....... Get it HERE: http://www.geocities.com/davidayton/CDisplay
  12. LOL! Yeah I too hate MySpace but I admit I love Facebook, Facebook is what you make of it really! I cannot believe the people I have connected with. The good thing is you can ignore or delete those you are not happy with and it's great to start your own Facebook groups too! I joined the ATARIAGE GROUP and if anyone would be interested please look and consider joining my FACEBOOK GROUP: MaximumRD's Classic Gaming and Computing http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=26887025879 THANKS!
  13. Ever try one of these? I just picked up a pair yesterday. Beats the heck out of the regular controllers. Agreed, these are my controllers of choice, of course I have huge hands and I liked the original Dreamcast and Xbox controllers too!
  14. Well, actually there IS one other video regarding the new Coleco Project, actually this was posted first, it;s longer and NOT voiced by me LOL! Guess it slipped my mind! Seriously though, this is all so far I swear................... New Coleco Cartridge - Vote for Color!
  15. Thank you so much for the kind words, yes I really DO want to get that second part and more wrapped up soon. Trying to get my butt in gear, working or not I will say as of this Saturday my wife is traveling and will be gone for a month so that is sure to free up some time huh? I will see what I can do, yes the second part would be a great way to start off my videos in 2009 for sure...........................
  16. Seriously, all I know is the video he asked me to narrate, I know nothing more than you, but I am sure more info will be forthcoming, yes he just wants to wet peoples appetites for this and I was just honored he asked me to be involved if only in a small way!
  17. Check it out! Daniel Bienvenu contacted me to narrate a video for his latest COLECOVISION project. He is a homebrew programmer deeply involved in programming new titles for the classic Colecovision system. This title will be worked on throughout 2009 and hopefully debut sometime in 2010! Here is the resulting video, it is just one of a series of sneak peek teaser videos to get the word out on this exciting new project for Colecovision enthusiasts! MaximunRd Narrating for SPECIAL COLECOVISION PROJECT - SECRET 1
