My wife has been just discharged from hospital with a terminally ill prognosis for her lung cancer. 😪 Feeling bad.

For those that give a rat's ass, ebay has over 4,000 Apple II items for sale. Highest it's ever been. As are the prices too!

Youtube is down.

Had a big-toe nail removed today because it was ingrown. Just in case anyone is interested.
-
I was rather shocked as I initially read BIG TOE but missed NAIL, I mean sucks, I certainly would not wish that on anyone but better than what I initially thought. 😛 So, do they freeze the toe first I assume, must be tender, entire nail removed so I guess those don't grow back? Morbidly curious. Sorry for your troubles.

What's better, the 2600 or Intellivision, and why?

Emulators are only imitations of the real thing.
-
Goes without saying BUT that said, they have their place and while they CAN be bad (poorly optimized, bad emulation) they can also often ENHANCE games with better textures, higher resolutions etc. Also, they can be cheap and very convenient compared to the "real thing" and all one to experience a platform in some form at least that they might not otherwise be able to. In short, they come a long way and are not going anywhere.

The animated Pirates Band of Misfits film on netflix is supposedly meant for kids BUT, there's many adult things in it. I was shocked to be honest that we can be so blind to what we show our kids. I'm not a Strict traditionalist but i'm also not an advocate of guns, references to blood, sexually suggestive material and other crap being shown to kids. Maybe move the rating more towards PG-13. It has more in common with Robot Chicken then it does with Wallace and Gromit.
Truly appalled that they allowed it on Netflix and tried to slap "family movies" on it. Now i'm a hypocritical bastard and i admit it but for heavens sake, some films are meant to be edited into oblivion

A lot of comedy I watched as a kid doesn't seem that funny today, but just watched Dave Allen clips and nearly choked on my sandwich. That Irish fella was a comic genius.

Many areas of the site outside of the forum are screwed up so much that you get a 404 error, even now. 😥

It is starting to get on my nerves that when I try to be helpful, all I get back is criticism.

Am I wrong on this or are you finding this with mostly the same people? Someone pointed something out and I agree, at the very least a couple of those people are likely actually one and the same (sock accounts) and their only objective is to start threads in the guise of wanting discussion and feedback when in reality they have already made up their minds about everything and simply want people to post their opinion / views for no reason other then to tell them why you are wrong and they are right. Best avoid even being baited into such "discussions". It's getting tiresome and would be nice if they end up getting the ban hammer, but that's just my observations and opinion.

So I bought a lot of nes games off of craigslist, and the guy wanted 800 dollars for it, came with probably 2000 dollars worth of stuff, He said I was the only person that didn't offer under 500 dollars, it never ceases to amaze me how much of cheapskates the majority of craigslist users are.

NASA announced this week a plan to send a woman to the moon. They gave no credit to or even mentioned Ralph Kramden the man with the original idea.

Yay, my PC Engine works again. I thought it was toast, but I had simply connected the wrong pin for composite video. It is delicate though.
-
My Famicom collection has grown to the point where I had to remove my NES collection from the shelf. If it gets any bigger, I'll have to start removing my 2600 games.

Finally that cancerous thread, energy draining thread, distracting thread, has been shut down. Now people can get back to doing real classic gaming things!

Anyone, in these covid times, notice how less-sick they are? Think no colds, no flu, no sniffles, no sore throat!
-
Actually was just mentioning this to my wife the other week, neither of us has been sick since this all started, between going out only when necessary, social distancing and wearing face covering in unavoidable high traffic areas we have definitely noticed a drop in getting any cold, flu, virus or even some allergies. Oddly for us and even more so in my case, as people sometimes joke, I been training for this my whole life, being highly introverted and someone who avoids big crowds etc, besides the occasional face covering there has been little change in my daily life. I would have no problem with some of the new rules of social behavior staying as they are, EXTROVERTS seem to be literally dying right now apparently.

My mom passed away this morning. She was not only my mom, but a friend.

Anyone read "Delete: A Design History of Computer Vapourware?" Looks interesting.

I just bought a Genesis mini! I really like this. There's a sale at BestBuy for $49.99. I thought it was a steal. Just beat Mega Man 2 on Wily Wars. Next is the first Mega Man. Save states definitely come in handy!

Cool, now do the Hakchi mod and add all the games.

Just completed Secret of Evermore on SNES for the first time ever. Have played it many times and made it to the final boss a few times but never completed it til now. What a feeling and what a game, very fun!
