Replaced our old DELL with a ASUS budget gaming laptop so I installed Garuda Linux on the old DELL. Looks and runs great, when considering some aesthetic options I just HAD to go with these AMIGA themed login/load screens for my own nostalgic pleasure.

😎Classic 80's Vacuum florescent display tech - Loved VFD tech for displays in electronic games and stereo components and even clock radios etc. I know it was more expensive tech but it was so bright and colorful and sure maybe somewhat retina burning but nothing else looked like it, very much of it's time!

That is the main issue, nope it doesn't auto center but sort of "floats" it's like a little disc sitting over a sensor type touch. This makes it not so great to use for traditional up/down/left/right maze type games where you need precise direction but according to some game that use diagonals as well it's OK, like a space shooter however, it takes getting use to and a specific touch is needed anticipating how it works. I've known many to despise it and really have never heard anyone approve it it at least nothing rating it higher then "Meh, it kind of works" 🙃 Now I know some people to mod it into a proper Dpad but to me that kind of defeats the purpose, I have plenty proper controllers already, that's no challenge, at some point I want to test it with several types of games and see for myself just how bad it is 😆Sadly, pretty much everything about it IS an improvement over the stock controller if it had just included the standard Dpad. https://nintendo.fandom.com/wiki/NES_Max

Ya know what the problem with NES controllers is? Aside from spending $15+ on a D-Pad to fix your $10 NES MAX,😅....Branding! Knockoffs can be crap or good, but the most generic ones just look like the original ones minus the Nintendo name. I bought a couple I dug,...But have to find the box to find the brand name...OK They're called "Sj Commanding Player" or Simple Jet Commanding Player...Controllers made in China, but the company is Canadian! Anyway, give or take some textural differences in the plastic (hardly noticeable), once you're playing, you'd swear it was just an original controller! Of course it is changing now with Hyperkin and Old Skool, etc....(Please avoid Retro-bit, they make crap)...

Goofing around with ManyCam software, certainly better than Windows built in camera software. 🤔😜
My WEBCAM software needs are pretty light but it is nice to have some extra options.

Well 2am here now and a nice evening, wife went to bed earlier, I am enjoying some bubbly with little sleep but enjoying the slight buzz so with that I will say, for whenever you see this, just, thanks again guys for being there, being friends, understanding my craziness and issues, I really appreciate you guys and just know you are definitely a part of making life bearable. I really mean it. Cheers and hope 2023 is at least a little kinder for us then 2022 and hell the last couple years have been. I am not the smartest or best person but I try THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING THERE ND PUTTING UP WITH ME.

Tues night on the old 2011 Macbbok now running ZorinOS currently, I love PopOS! the most on it so far but I just cannot stop tinkering and Zorin is working great so far. It's by no means a daily driver so I don't mind testing different Distros on the hardware.

Crazy! We got more than we bargained for here too! I was doing deliveries and my truck kept nearly getting stuck. I stopped by the hardware store and of course they no longer carry sand bags!...I bought bags of concrete (which I'd later put into trash bags) just to put some weight in the back of my truck...Most of it is now melted.
