Question about Gateway to Apshai cart
OldSchoolRetroGamer replied to robcatron's topic in ColecoVision / Adam

An SD card slot would certainly be awesome but after buying the first my criteria is: 1. Good lineup of titles 2. Proper backwards compatible controller out of the box as was intended with the original, They have had enough time now. unless those two conditions are met I will pass until they release one that meets those requirements, same goes for future Colecovision Flashbacks. Oh and also I need to be working again to have extra monies for such indulgences

Is RETROPIE the end of real Atari gaming?
OldSchoolRetroGamer replied to alortegac's topic in Atari 2600
Because many are duplicates and many still that claim to be original are knock off's of similar games and still more a just poor wierd roms from hacked games etc. By the time you sort out all the junk you are likely lucky to find many original titles. These cheap Chinese knockoff handhelds just contain ROMS of questionable origin and very few are worth your time, so really you are not getting 10000 worthy roms , you are getting MAYBE 500-1000 and the rest are filler garbage. TRUST ME I SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE as I purposely collect and tinker with such gadgets of my own free will but even so I am not going to pretend it is a sane thing to do. As for complete ROM sets....there are various sources from torrents archives, FTP sites or even direct download sets like ISO . com with just a little effort and caution anyone can obtain them freely. But hey I am just being honest with you, feel free to order such a device and see for yourself. -

A silly waste of time and money, you would be far better off just getting the ROMS elsewhere, not a hard thing to do. The add says you can add / delete GBA / NES / SMC roms so just go download complete sets of GBA / NES / SMC which would amount to minimal size and you are good to go, no need to buy this garbage. And YES all those units are garbage, TV out or not. -
Pictures would be good.

You are doing a fantastic job ignoring apparently -
I had a few of those! Sadly no turntable but I also found videos like that on youtube as well as downloaded the MP3...here is my video of it I did back in 2010 with my real crappy camera... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTo5M6Am6jg But anyways....I see the Switch more as a continuation of Nintendo HANDHELDS than really a new console and so they follow the rest of thier handhelds with carts instead of optical media.

Well I would call that a find in the wild
OldSchoolRetroGamer replied to Professor Gull's topic in Sega Genesis
Well it pretty much IS just SIDE POCKET with the Minnesota theme added, perhaps they thought it would make it more desirable to Pool fans. Side Pocket has always been my go to Pool Game on NES / Genesis. First time I encountered it staying over at a friends back in the day, I ended up pretty much playing it all night lol. Nice purchase. Funny ever since I got into Everdrives / Flashcarts I started giving away / trading / selling original carts but SIDE POCKET (NES / Genesis) along with Mr. Do! (Colecovision) are two originals I will never part with since they just have too many good memories associated with them. Anyway, nice pickup imho, looks to be in great shape -

Release: DNSwitch – a utility to hijack the Nintendo Switch browser http://wololo.net/2017/03/05/release-dnswitch-utility-hijack-nintendo-switch-browser/ -
Ah thanks guys! I swear I went up and down the thread 2X! Haven't had my morning coffee yet and apparently I am still asleep. Thanks for the link! I think the auction title is somewhat misleading, it is not a Japanese Heavy 6'er but supposedly the Epoch sticker simply implies it was imported to Japan by the import company Epoch. The stickers seem to indicate as much, I am no expert on such things but is that so impossible a claim? Do the stickers not seem authentic?

HELLO? I will ask again - Link to auction? Name of seller? UPDATE NEVER MIND - ATTENTION FAILURE.

Why is the TI99/4a so popular here?
OldSchoolRetroGamer replied to BassGuitari's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
Honestly as with most things I do not think it is so popular, rather a few fanatical people just keep bringing it the front lol. Not a bad thing at all but just notice every time there is a new post or thread it usually involves a few specific hardcore TI99/4a "fanboys" that post constantly about it, posting every crumb of news about it etc. Thus giving the illusion it is much more popular than it actually is, again not a knock, the same can be said about other platforms. -

Possibly though Chinese Android tablets with in built controls were around before WiiU. Being Chinese electronics manufacturers of course they do tend to style things after whatever is the current trend. There are literally dozens which look like PSP clones etc. For my needs though I'd take this device over a WiiU any day.
