Here is the link to the other post http://atariage.com/forums/topic/255750-behold-the-atw800-i-just-bought/?view=findpost&p=3568817 Uhm, for clarity, in that post you said : "Good day I recently purchased a large lot of computer stuff and this was part of the lot" - Sooo....you are saying you paid $4000 CAN specifically for this unit or you paid that for the entire lot? Just wondering how you have that specific amount applied to this item? Perhaps I missed some detail somewhere.

Fair enough, funny how everyone interprets things differently, I was confused by the term Backup Adam CPU, which is why I clicked the auction link and read the description, I was thinking "Wha....like a special chip to backup an ADAM? Or just the main processor (CPU)?, to be fair at least it caught my attention lol. Sorry don't mind me, I am one of those sticklers, like when people point at a modern computer case calling it the "CPU", yes the CPU is inside but it's not "THE CPU". I guess in my mind I'd have said simply Coleco ADAM main unit only, it was the BACKUP CPU term that threw me. Well, I am old and crotchety and stuck in my ways, only one specific way of thinking these days. Good luck with the auction then, At least it is a free bump and all will be clear for everyone else if it was not already, might have just been me.

lol it is just ADAM or COLECO ADAM, to much use of the word "CPU" going on here

Colecovision Steering Wheel Mod?
OldSchoolRetroGamer replied to Petey5877's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
As I just said in your status, you can track down the Coleco Perma power kit, this consists of four fake plastic batteries which connect to a power supply. Otherwise find a power adaptor with the correct voltage and wire it up to the terminals in the battery compartment. Or you can do a mod as shown here , http://www.colecovision.dk/turbomodule.htm -
New Atari Gaming Hardware?
OldSchoolRetroGamer replied to Marc Oberhäuser's topic in Dedicated Systems
Yeah actually two other topics, my only suggestion? Don't get too excited for any announcements from Atari, they no longer are or will ever be the Atari we knew and loved, just companies whoring out the name to grab attention, time to remember fondly and move on....... -
Still my favorite for everything up to and including DREAMCAST. Just amazing. Only might be hard pressed to find one these days, it is supposedly surpassed by the GPD XD but my aging eyes and big fumbly hands will take this over that any day. One of the best reviews for this ANDROID based devices with many platforms tested. HONESTLY this device with the big bright 7' screen and great sound is why I have ZERO interest in things like AtGames Atari or 2600 handhelds with those tiny screens , incompatibilities, horrid sound etc. So many litte annoyances overlooked JUST for the sake of having an "official" license / logo for companies that barely exist outside of an copyright / IP licensed to crap hardware producers like AtGames https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnAc0lXPq2s&t=482s

Where can I download Doom for the Vic20?
OldSchoolRetroGamer replied to eebuckeye's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
I found this direct download but not sure it is what you were looking for? https://github.com/Kweepa/vicdoom/archive/master.zip -
Oh that would be nice wouldn't it? Many Nintendo fans would like to believe that, some even do heartily believe it. I am pretty sure in the end Nintendo is in the business for the same reasons and motivations as any company. It's a nice dream though...........

The Positive NES Classic Thread
OldSchoolRetroGamer replied to atarilovesyou's topic in Classic Console Discussion
If I could find one at actual retail price (or lower) I would consider it ONLY BECAUSE this is now possible. If I could find one at actual retail price (or lower) I would consider it ONLY BECAUSE this is now possible. I KNOW the die hard Fanboys / purist hate this kind of thing, they are happy to keep paying Nintnedo over and over for the same games they bless them with and NOTHING MORE but this hack ADDS VALUE imho. I have heard you can put up to about 80 games (or was it 90?) That many games of your own choosing is pretty cool. NOT that I do not have a million other ways to play the roms just as well but as always to be different, a conversation piece especially for those not aware when you fire it up with not only a better selection of games but more than intended. -

Escape 2042: The Truth Defenders
OldSchoolRetroGamer replied to Orion_'s topic in Homebrew Discussion
Ugh another game that does not even begin to use the power of the system? OK I'll give you GAMEBOY but DREAMCAST? COME ON! Whatever, I guess the gamers will back anything that feeds their platform, good luck? -
Mame not found errors = mismatched versions between rom and version of Mame being used, how many times must this be mentioned?
