??Was just heading to bed when I looked over on my shelf and noticed my Dreamcast with the weird custom lid and modem cover looks even weirder in the dim blue light emanating from the Christmas star decoration hanging in our living room.

It is funny how often I forget to fire up MAME to compare the arcade version of home ports, soooo many great arcade classics at our disposal in MAME. It is always interesting to see how different the original arcade version is since those were typically designed to challenge you to keep trying while consuming your coins and so home versions though maybe not always comparable graphically sometimes made up for it with additional features. I will definitely check out the link you mentioned. All these arcade games at my disposal, literally thousands so no matter how many times I fire it up even after all these years there is always something new to check out or great classics to re-experience. Puzzle, side scrolling shooters, racing, fighting, obscure Japanese and even clone and knock off games, though I COULD do without all the Mahjong titles I don't need.LikeCommentShare

Woo Hoo! I am now a member of the Atariage DISCORD server and I have no idea what that means honestly. Maybe I will figure it out at some point ?

From whenever I've tried it (not lately),...It was like a complicated "Chat". I'll have to try it again, but on the old one, there was subjects for various interests (i.e. Atari 2600 or Arcade Games, each like an individual chat room), but that was probably just how that particular Discord deal was set up...If it's set up as just a place for AtariAgers, Maybe it'll be Great! I'll have to try it again so I know...

Whelp, time to dispose of the old VHS and tapes of old home movies! ??

Yep, years ago bought the cheapest low end standalone DVD-r recorder I could find and did just that, sure nothing was enhanced and it would be yet another generation of recording but I figured at least once on optical media it would no longer deteriorate (well outside of Bit rot or something) and also easier to load into video editing programs or players. I can back up or even make disc images of it all. The original tapes have sat collecting dust since.

RE: N64 ? I am a huge Resident Evil games fan so of course even though my first experience of it was on Playstation I simply HAD to own a original N64 cart as shown. It's just loose cart and I have not played it in years (Hope it still saves?) but it is one of only a handful of original N64 carts I still own as I use my Everdrive mostly. Still, look forward to trying it out again soon, what they achieved on a N64 cart was impressive. ?

Just showing not selling or trading, also have a question and appreciate your comments, thoughts, opinions ??Now, I typically use my Everdrive but I have a pretty small but ok collection of original carts. I think I got most in a lot some time back, Ogre Battle 64 was sent to me from a fellow youtuber who said it was a good one. I would definitely play most of these happily though Quest 64 I have heard is not so great? Also, I am not much of a Pokemon fan in any capacity but I think it requires a separate accessory pak which I have but it is missing the Mic that plugs into it. Anyone know if I can plug any mic with a plug that fits? Maybe the mic from my Dreamcast vmu for playing Seaman? That would be a funny alternative. Of course Shadows of the Empire, Resident Evil 2 and Goldeneye are my favorites, of the rest does anyone have a favorite or even one you cannot stand? Thanks.
