Nice auctions here, especially his lots
Mindfield replied to RickHarrisMaine's topic in Auction Central
I was watching (and trying to win) some of his auctions today. I don't think he knows what he's selling exactly. There was Spy Hunter here (and also a small text Star Ship, which I still need) that went for a good price. Even more interesting, there's this lot with both Miner 2049ers, Jawbreaker, and a few other moderately interesting titles. This lot however, was the one I really wanted: Stronghold, plus a few other cool titles. -
Nice Atari 1040STF on Ebay, shipping from Canada
Mindfield replied to Vetek's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Nice clean ST. I'm almost tempted solely because my 1040 is a little discoloured and has a frew cracks in the case. Looks like a first-run model (red LEDs, different drive mech). -
I'll give Dragonstomper for being what it is -- a game that couldn't properly be done on a cart. One with the kind of depth you really don't see on any other game. Plus, it's just about the closest thing to a real RPG you've got on the VCS, which is saying something. And I love RPGs, so it's definitely top shelf stuff -- but the best? I can think of others I tend to pull out and play more than that. (And not just because playing Dragonstomper also involves dragging out the Supercharger, CD walkman and SGANB) Not that Dragonstomper isn't fun, it's just a different genre entirely, and one you probably just don't pull out and play as often exactly because it's more involved.

I bought this two weeks ago, and recieved it quite promptly (and it's a very nice camera, too). Now I just discovered he's been NARUed. Looks like I got it just in time.

Great BIN on 2600 Pengo (at least, I think so)
Mindfield replied to tiggerthehun's topic in Auction Central
That was a good price, certainly. I can't remember what I got mine for -- I think about $15 or something, and even that was a good price. -
When does it expire? I've got my eye on a few pricey items and this would be good to save a bit of cash.
-
Sweet! Except it's spelled "Discs." Not the first illuminated carts to be done, but most appropriately they're TRON carts, and if anything deserved an illuminated acrylic shell it's those games.
-
That's precisely why I snipe. (The man's way -- with my bare hands at three seconds to the buzzer -- not the sissy software way. )
-
Three words: Giganormungous video wall. Just imagine: Yar. Six. Feet. Tall.
-
Correct; the B&W Telesys games had no end label. I made my own custom ones (though mine at least match the main label -- which they should, since they're made from the main label. )

Came across this while searching for an SD card reader as part of a Christmas present (don't ask me why it came up in the search). I don't think I could eat the amount I want to vomit right now.
-
That went cheap! I paid quite a bit more for my B&W label only a few months ago.
-
Feh. I bought mine for $5. Canadian. The cart was the expensive part. Now, if you see a CIB Track & Field for $20, be so kind as to point me in the direction, then get out from underfoot.

Retrogaming + newbie bidwar + holiday season = fish in a barrel.

The sad thing is, I firmly believe that while in the future she may indeed pack better, it will be because she doesn't want another thread like this popping up on a forum catering to the demographic she's trying to sell to, not because she truly feels bad that her crappy packing job allowed damage to goods she sent. You might say it's arguing semantics as the end result is the same anyway, but as it speaks to the seller's moral disposition, I'd say it's an important argument to make.
-
Whoops! I'm a mathemagician. Yes, $38k... how utterly charitable of him. He evidently pulled the auction anyway. Maybe he really meant $40k and didn't know how to change it? Ha, sorry... hot flash of optimism there.
-
Count me in for one of those Xenophobes, too. One of the few Atari-branded games I still need.

I like Christmas. I like it so much that I end up spending too much money on it. Oh well. I guess that means I have to sell some spare stuff! First, yer basic boilerplate stuff: [1] All prices are in US funds. [2] I'm in Canada. Shipping abroad may take a little longer than you are accustomed to. Please be patient. [3] I would prefer to ship only within the US and Canada, but will consider shipping outside North America -- be warned that shipping costs may be high on larger orders. PM me with your location and desired item(s) if you would like a shipping quote. [4] Payment by PayPal only, please, except Canadians, who can also pay by Interac E-Mail Money Transfer if they prefer. Trades may also be considered. [5] Everything is in the condition shown in the pictures which, despite my best efforts probably don't show perfect detail -- I tried to keep image size down (they are reduced from their original size) to keep file size and load times reasonable. Even so, some images are over 500k and 1600 pixels wide. I've provided thumbnails you can click on to view the full images, however. I'm not bothering to add descriptive comments (except in cases of missing or severely damaged labels or notable label variations) to each entry simply because I'm trying to avoid contracting carpal tunnel syndrome any earlier than absolutely necessary. If you want specific shots of something please PM me. [6] Numbers in curly braces indicate the quantity available; if there is no number in curly braces, there's only one. [7] First come, first served, in order to be fair. This will be cross-posted on two other forums. [8] If I don't answer your PMs right away it's because I've been flooded with a mess of them and I need to sort out who sent what when and what they wanted. I will get back to you with a list of what is available from your list of requests. You couldn't make a case against St. Nick himself with that. And with that, we come to the good bit! Hardware Atari 520STFM - [ $25.00 ] - [ SOLD! ] 1 meg RAM, TOS 1.02, RF port, internal DS/DD (720k) drive. Unit, AC cable and RF adapter. Functionally, the unit works perfectly -- the drive and all keys are fine, as are the LEDs. Ports all seem to be perfectly good too, though I am unable to test the cartridge, MIDI, ACSI, serial or parallel ports due to lack of hardware to plug into them. Monitor port works well. Physically the unit is a little rough; one of the fins on the rear of the unit is cracked, and there is a thin crack in the plastic below the navigational keys (slightly noticeable in the pic). The keys are also discoloured from exposure to sunlight -- an unfortunate reality for many Atari XE and ST units (or for that matter most light-coloured plastic from the era). Still, it's fully functional and going cheap, so if you've been after an ST here's a good chance to get one. Weight will make this a bit of a bear to ship, however, so be prepared. Atari SC1224 Colour Monitor - [ $25.00 ] The classic 12" colour monitor for the Atari ST. Image is bright and crisp, and all controls work perfectly. Weight will make this a lot of a bear to ship, but if you want the ST and need a monitor for it, you can combine this with the ST to help reduce the sticker stock on the shipping bill. Atari 130XE - [ $20.00 ] [ SOLD! ] A lot of people prefer the classic Atari 800 or 800XL when it comes to 8-bits, but me, I loved the 130XE. Not that I had anything against the XL line -- my first machine was a 600XL and my second an 800XL -- but when it came to becoming an 8-bit power user, the 130XE was tha shizznit, yo. This unit comes with AC adapter and RF adapter. I'll even throw in a spare SIO cable if you want it. Functionally this unit is perfect -- no issues to speak of. I couldn't test the PBI however, but I see no reason it shouldn't work. Similarily I couldn't test the monitor port. Physically, the shell, function keys, tab key and space bar are discoloured from exposure to sun, but it seems the rest of the keys were from a hardier mix of plastic as they're perfectly white. If'n you want a good 8-bit, this is it. I'll definitely take one when it's ready. I like Christmas stuff. I like Christmas Atari stuff even more.
-
They won't do jack until he ships the goods back. I ran into that problem a while back myself; same issues applied.
-
Probably has something to do with eBay's touchy policies regarding feedback. They won't remove feedback, after all, unless there's something overtly offensive in it -- and even then only if the recipient of said feedback complaints about it. (They could just as easily police naughty words with a simple search, but they don't) Zathras got the neg I left him removed (solely because of the link) -- obviously he complained. But Zathras saw the response to the neg he left me in my feedback, yet it's still there. (I don't know if he complained or not but it wouldn't surprise me in the least, knowing Zathras' clinical anal-retentiveness) Either way give it a shot. I wouldn't post the link in the seller's feedback -- if she's smart (and probably still reading this thread) she'd complain to have it removed, but if she leaves her neg it can be responded to with a link to this thread. Works for me, anyway.
-
No, but eBay don't exactly police such things. They rely on complaints. The link I put in my feedback is still there almost two years after the fact. (Look for the lone neg on that page)
-
Haha. Cancer research. That's a good one. At four hundred grand this is one seller you won't see again if you BINed that. (I'm sure he'd send you the package, then hop, skip and jump to the bank, giggling all the way, with the remaining $380,000) I like how he even says that 90% of the sale will go to cancer research. Given that the package he's selling probably cost about $2,000, even if 90% really was going to cancer research, he's still pocketing $2k for himself.

She's dug her hole too deep. If she admitted she did a piss-poor job of packaging, not only would she drive her potential customer base away, she'd also be admitting she framed her "About Me" page saga in selectively edited sound bites crafted to make RR look like a scammer. Pointing people to this thread would 180 everything she's said. I say, do what I did with the infamous zathras_eleven (with one modification): When she does her retalliatory neg, reply to it with a link to this thread. You could neg her with a link to this thread too, but she can get that removed by eBay. On the other hand, you aren't going to comlpain to eBay about your own feedback, so the link in yours will stay put, thus vindicating you to anyone reading your feedback. (She can complain about the link in your feedback too, but eBay won't do anything about it unless the owner of said feedback files a complaint) It's obvious this has progressed beyond the point of redemption -- she is clearly content to lie in her bed of BS and quilt herself a blanket while she's at it -- so the options are few at this point. Might as well make the most of them.

I've done that once -- not because of damage, but because the seller declared $20 worth of merchandise at US$200 on the customs form (which meant I owed $45 if I wanted to pick it up; so, back to the sender it went) Evidently this is one seller here we'll all be putting on our block lists. God knows I wouldn't want to deal with this wench -- she's a crappy packager, vindictive, and lies like a bad politician. Makes me feel ashamed to live in the same region as her. Just imagine how bad she'll be when she grows up...
