Don't you miss the days we could walk outside and not fall apart? I sure do... I miss my back and knees. Stay strong! :)

    3. GoldLeader

Yeah Stay Strong Drac!  Sending Best wishes and Good Vibes!!

    4. Inky

I wish I knew what to say other than I hope things get better for you. :(

  2. Wouldn’t mind reading Commodore: The final years, but did hope there was a Kindle Edition for space, expediency reasons

    1. mksmith

This was the kickstarter edition Brian release just before Christmas - apparently contains more than the final hardcopy release as a bonus! Happy reading 😁

Thanks for posting. Commodore is one of my favorite systems, and a fitting tribute to DracIsBack.

  3. While my Cuttle Cart 2 is on the fritz, any recommendations for 7800 emulators on the Mac?

  4. Today has not been the best day. Besides being punted around the hospital, the SD cart guide came loose in my Cuttle Cart 2. :-S (annoyed)

God, I hope you get out of there soon...

  5. Two overnight hospital stays in close succession is enough for me. Glad to be home! Whew

I believe in you Drac!  Get better!  Ya can't keep a good man down.

    4. DracIsBack

Thanks ... still trying to figure out where the cables for my systems were packed during the move so I can play more Atari too

  6. I’m loving the responsive design of AtariAge forums

Seems to be about the same speed for me.

I like that little "Bloop" sound when something goes on.

    4. save2600

That bloop sound took me right back to the original Lost in Space...   #lovemesomepenny

  7. Loving the new forums! Great work, Al!

    1. Albert

Glad to hear that!  Glad you're enjoying them.  :)

    2. jd_1138

Yeah I love the new functionality and look.

    3. save2600

I haven't figured out how to post a status update yet... can only reply!

  8. Internet finally back! That was a long, long week!

  9. Certainly will be happy to be discharged from the hospital. They’ve been treating me well, but two weeks is enough to not be sleeping in my own bed :-)

So sorry to hear of your troubles Drac. Hang in there buddy! We're all pulling for you.

    3. AAA177

Great to hear this, best of luck to you. Hospitals tend to be depressing.

    4. Flojomojo

I'm happy you're finding comfort -- you've had a bad time of it. Hope things get better.

  10. My wife really spoiled me this weekend. After the "not so good" medical news, she booked an impromptu trip to New York to see Billy Joel at his birthday at MSG. Had a great "long weekend" getting away as a tourist

    2. save2600

Wow, Billy Joel... that's so cool you're going to see/hear him. Kudos to your wife and have fun!

    3. PacManPlus

That is very cool, Drac - hope you had a wonderful time

    4. DracIsBack

      We absolutely did. Thanks everyone!

  11. New radiation treatment plan starting Saturday to manage pain in shoulders and knee. Fingers crossed that this works!

  12. I think it will soon me time to prune my classic game collection. Likely Jaguar, XEGS and SMS first on the list

    2. Machine

I miss my XEGS. System going?

    3. Flojomojo

Letting go of the Jaguar will probably give you more money than keeping it would give you pleasure.

    4. CaptainBreakout

If you've got Another World for Jag, Im into it. Actually tempting to ask for your whole cull list.

  13. Well - it seems my lymphoma diagnosis is such that I'll never get to play my Atari 7800 XM. Kind of a bummer but may be looking for a new home for this soon.

I hope only the best for you in this trying time. If there was ever a reason to send someone a proto version this would be it. Getting you one before you actually pass away should be reason enough for anyone.

    3. CPUWIZ

Wow, that is exactly what I suggested to Al, who is still out and about. He will bring this up to Curt. ;)

    4. RevEng

So very sorry to hear this. Try to keep a positive attitude, and let us know if you need financial help... it wouldn't be the first gofundme here.

  14. My wife - who's been watching Marie Kondo and all about purging - asked why I possibly need an old CRT tv. I'm afraid to point to the 8bit consoles underneath, lest she ask why I also need them!

It is times like this you wish your wife had been into anime, in case she should care about Japanese women at all. ;-)

  15. Bumblebee the movie is a lot like Bumblebee the character. Easy to write off yet surprisingly tenacious.

  16. Why would people pirate and resell games from a homebrewer? They're supporting our old classic systems as a labour of love, not to get rich.

    1. Show previous comments  6 more
    2. DracIsBack

      @CyranoJ I suspect some people just don't know what's a legit game and what's a pirate copy.

    3. save2600

Why do people still shop at WalMart or other worthless big box stores, when they know it'll put the smaller and family owned shops out of business?

  17. Re-watching: The Terry Kath Experience. Great doc. Gets away from the normal 'Chicago spin'. Dispels some of the persistent myths about Kath and Chicago

    2. DracIsBack

Doesn't seem to be. I saw it at the world premiere and own the DVD so I'm rewatching. It's really good ... a touching story about a daughter trying to learn about her father through the documentary process. All the surviving members of the original Chicago are interviewed and James William Guercio is too. Plus it benefits from not having that annoying Chicago "spin" that they do.

    3. jd_1138

I just checked, and it's on Google Play for $2.99 to rent. I will rent it this week and watch it. thanks for the heads up. I guess it's not available for rental in Canada. Darn international copyright BS.

    4. DracIsBack

Glad to hear you could rent it. I bought it on DVD myself. There's a few extras (ie. the Terry Cam) but you aren't missing much by not getting them

  18. I honestly believe that there are few things that give me more anxiety than turning on an XBox One and navigating the UI. So convoluted, unintuitive and always changing. Absolutely atrocious design.

Games (I mean movies) today aren't even worth their updates. Silly, nonsensical shit that you're bored with sooner than later.

    3. SlidellMan

The original X-Box dashboard will always be tops! (I have no opinion on the '05-'09 X-Box 360 dash.)

    4. GoldLeader

save2600 couldn't agree more,...But I have some new PS3 games so I should probably try sometime haaaa...

  19. While my wife is wrapped up in a reality show, I'm having fun playing Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest on the 7800. Bob and the entire team did such a great job on this homebrew. So well done.

    1. adam242

Nice. While my girlfriend watches her trash TV, I'm here or playing on my 800.

  20. Someday, the Atari 7800 versions of Toki and Electrocop will be playable by all. (I can dream, can't I?)

  21. It's an unpopular opinion, but I always dug 7800 Basketbrawl

    1. BassGuitari

      Unpopular? Who DOESN'T like Basketbrawl?

    2. wongojack

      I'm with BassGuitari

      Another game I need!

  22. Lymphoma treatment is really beating the crap out of me and sapping my energy. Looking for suggestions for comedy tv shows to make me laugh a bit more

  23. Rewatching "Voyagers" from 1982. Loved it as a kid. A bit hokey now. Jeffery is really whiny and you can tell it's a "family hour" show, but still fun nostalgia and a cool idea.

I loved that show as a kid, that and "Doctor Who" got me interested in time travel. There was another show like that a couple years ago called Timeless...

    3. DracIsBack

      @Jess - here's a story about it

Did you try holding down the power and home buttons together for 30 seconds?

    2. GoldLeader

I heard that throwing them up in the air, at least 40 feet, might help...LOL
