I'd love to know more about the impact "backwards compatibility" has in the grand scheme of things? I suspect the feature is considered important by some buys at purchase time, but a lot fewer actually use it much in practice. No data to back up though.

  I suspect you're right but I personally play far more ps2 games on my ps3 than ps3 games. I'm probably in the minority there though.

  For me it's not a dealbreaker, but it is a good thing to have. The added convenience of having 1 system instead of 2 or maybe 3 that you swap around the cables for is a great thing.
