  1. some developers have left the forums ,but do still work on jaguar titles sometimes the suspense makes the final product even more exciting hah hah
  2. Wolf 3D didn't utilize the "Wheres all the Data" modules for it's data storage medium, I can't remember the tool for editing the game but the bigger question is.. did ID release the JAG Wolf3D source? I know the original source is available but they optimized the code for the JAG and 3DO versions so it's slightly different. I would love to see games based on the Wolf 3D engine on the Jag, Particularly Blake Stone Spear of Destiny would be pretty easy to port over since it didnt add much more then new maps, textures and new boss sprites if somebody has the Jag source.
  3. You could build one of those for about 5 dollars give or take, maybe less if you have parts lying around or just build an adapter sans cable.
  4. Would you concider selling that Shining Force II seperate?
  5. Thats how I got suckered into it, though when I got charged for 4 freakin magazines subscriptions from 4 different magazines I didn't remember subscribing to I had the charges disputed and cancelled yet I still get them in the mail for free lol thank you billing department errors
  6. I wanted to like Fight for Life on the jag, the Graphics were great but the gameplay and animation blows monkey chunks.. the fighters walk in baby steps and matches take upto 20 mins to beat since you do so little damage.. apparently the real version of the game does exist lol.. the designers gave Atari a crippled copy out of revenge for laying them off and with holding their pay for all the work they did.
  7. Just got the new issue of EGM in the mail, of course in the mail section somebody wrote a letter about a crossword puzzle which contained a reference to the Jag in the previous issue.. and I quote (loosely) the guy says.. "I found an error in your cross word puzzle, for line 12 "Worst Jag game" theres only 7 squares, you cant fit "all of them"." Well EGM's answer to the letter wasn't any better. If they don't like it why the hell can't they leave it alone? It seems to always pop up as the butt of some assinine joke to them.. one issue had a template for a Jag faceplate for the 360 "gifts for those you hate". Can't they grow up? I thought about writing them a letter but whats the point, their entitled to their opinions (whether down right biased) but do they gotta keep bring their opinion back up in "Top 10 worst games", Crossword Puzzles or one of Sean Baby's craptastic articles.. whatever.
  8. Commercially, it sold a lot better than the Jaguar did on a lot less many. On the other hand, they paid for their mistakes with the 7800 (and Lynx and XEGS) with the Jaguar. On the other hand, for all their faults, I think the Tramiels did try with the Jaguar whereas they didn't really with the 7800, which was thrown to market to make a quick buck. Yes..too little too late..should have been release ASAP after Nintendo offered the NES to Atari. Atari was right to say no but wrong to sit on the 7800 for the next two years...IDIOTS! It also would have helped if Nintendo didn't use shiesty licensing contracts with it's 3rd party developers. The Lynx would have outsold the Gameboy if developers could have developed for both without Nintendo breathing down their necks..
  9. Didn't realize that, thanks for letting me know Carl.

Hmm... Atari 7800 C128 NES SNES Genesis PC Engine Duo (wish I had a US Turbo Duo :/ ) Saturn Neo Geo AES Atari Jaguar x 2 (one broken from a botched BJL mod) PSX x2 (one with I/O port and a 9000+ series) PS2 Xbox Xbox 360 N64 Gamecube Handhelds: Gameboy x 3 (the original with all 4 shades of green ) GBA DS Game.Com (I don't care what everybody says about it I love RE2 on it and Tiger Solitaire and Lights Out kick ass) Nomad PSP R-Zone x 2 (since it has interchangable software) NeoGeo Pocket Color Game Gear I need to get more of the older consoles :/ though I may be getting a 5200 from a friend soon Edit: forgot about my C128
  11. It has a screen adjust option, you hold down a button and then you can move the screen. Somewhere on the title screen it's listed.

good example, the retro scene is becoming more popular Actually...that's a pretty bad example. Awful actually. TG-16/CD/DUO wasn't popular in the US, but PC-Engine/CD/DUO was at one time the most popular console in Japan, and thus has a ton of really great JP games. A ton. Large library of titles, and a great deal of quality titles at that. Especially the shmups, and those are the games that have the large niche fanbase where NEC's console(s) get most of their love currently. Compare that with Jaguar which, god bless it, wasn't popular anywhere at all, doesn't have a large number of titles that satisfy large niche fanbases, and has a low number of games to begin with, and there's a world of difference. If anything, prices for Jag games and hardware have gone down over the years. I remember when a loose copy of AvP would fetch around $20 if not higher, and sealed copies over $70. Now they seem to have gone much lower, if the shittyspeculator4U doesn't drive the price up. well everyone has an opinion and obviously you will find good and bad deals, thats ebay....but for the most part i think the jaguar items are going up in price, even without SS4U bidding on them.... yes but ShitStain is accelerating the inflation.

Don't be surprised if you see a flurry of sniped bids in the last few moments. A lot of Jag collectors have taken to sniping to avoid dealing with SSFU's bidding wars. Maybe...maybe not. Really, I won an auction yesterday for a Jaguar and Jag-CD, both boxed and in excellent condition, not to mention around 7 or so games, most unopened, including Defender 2000. For the entire set, I only paid $122.50, plus 30.00 s/h. I expected a fight for it at the end, but no such thing. Oh well. I think everyone just needs to ignore the guy. You can certainly find similar deals to this one. How can you ignore him?? He's embedded himself in whatever Jag auction he thinks he can profit off of.. The only way to do that would be to only buy from retailers who don't always have the rarer titles..

I think not.. it wasn't popular when it was actually on sale, it's after it's time that it's become worth more.. If you look at the auctions on Ebay you'd see my point.. look for a complete copy of Devils Crush in great conditon for less then 100.. TG-16 systems are not worth alot.. Duo's are. Dracula X: Chi No Rondo? $150-$200 Bonk 3 CD? $100-$140.. I could go on and on
  15. Hey, posting this here cause well not alot of people read the programming thread.. Anyways, I've had some experience with making little demos with BLL, and well I've forgotten some things lol... it's been awhile. My current problem is something that I've scoured my code for over and over again.. can't figure it out (I'm editing my old code for a demo I made using the cv2fighter source, which didn't have the same issue). My problem is that I can't get it to display my background image or any of my sprites after the titlescreen loop is finished, it displays the title fine and everything after that is a blank screen, I checked my draw mode (that was one of the issues I ran into when i first started messing around with BLL) and I don't have a clue what I did or didn't do thats getting me this result. heres, my asm file so far, not alot to it currently but I can't really add anything until I get this draw crap worked out. EDIT: Wont let me attach asm files.. so uploaded in txt.. plutodef.txt plutodef.zip
  16. The first time I saw the intro screen I thought "Hey! That's cool!" Me too!, I think the Jag intro is awesome!, I still do the little code to spin the block around!! Strange how I never forgot it for it being such a silly little trick. With a BJL modded system you can even replace the Jaguar graphic on the cube with your own what other system has that little "extra"? hah hah

Hello.. look at the TG-16/Turbo Duo scene, the prices keep rising every year, it generally costs 200-500 dollars to get a US Duo I had to cave and get a PC Engine Duo cause I didn't wanna spend a bunch on a US model and got one for 130 from a guy on this forum As time goes on demand usually increases, nostalgia gets people to want to buy them thus others can take that to their advantage charge more then it's worth (at the time) thats how collecting goes.. look at the price of certain NES games now, even they are getting alittle pricey..

The first time he got removed was for good reason, he threatened Albert that he was responisble for Slander (the fact is Mr.Sweet knows nothing about the legal system) and was gonna have AA shit down (lol) Gloated about his "huge" collection and how he was a businessman and didn't care what people thought as long as he was making money. Yeah, he's a real "class act" and deserving of all of our scorn.
  19. Darn... I forgot Raiden. I love that game! I've got the PSone compilation (great) and the SNES port (sucky) so I'd love to play the Jag's version... I hear it's awesome. I think I played the first Iron Soldier a long time ago... all I can remember are the tiny explosions and that you couldn't crush buildings. Isn't someone on the board (Gorf?) working a game that would utilize the underused graphic processors? The technical jargon goes WAY over my head... something about all the current Jag games going through the 6800 processor instead of the better GPU's. Tiny explosions?? While you couldn't trample the buildings you could punch them till they crumbled in a huge explosion of blocks.. beautiful. and Yes, it's Gorf who is pioneering sans-68k games on the Jag
  20. Have to wonder how he got it and what he paid for it.
  21. Which gives the better picture? I've been using a set of composite cables for the longest time. I do have an S-video cable here that I don't use... S-video gives the best signal over composite, but to the eye, its not much difference. I'd be interested in which ever one you want to get rid of if your interested and not using it. Your vision must not be the best(or your TV sucks), becuase the S-video gives a MUCH sharper image than composite, and all the edge-crawl disappears and color is richer too! I refuse to even use composite, let alone RF, after using S-video, it's that much better. I have actually installed S-video circuits in my VCR, LaserDisc and RCA Selectavision CED players (which only had composite or RF out) becuase I couldn't stand watching them with composite, after getting used to my other equipment like consoles and DVD that had S-video. I've upgraded every item I own with RF or video output to S-video if it didn't already have it! It's THAT much better, IMHO. And it's no easy task to do all that, you HAVE to know a LOT about electronics to do such modifications and the circuits are relatively complicated. You have a Selectavision deck AND you modded it for S-video, hah hah awesome.
  22. The Jag intro is unique, thats why I like it. The Saturns intro is some polygons and then sprites.. same as the Jag just flashier, the Playstations intro was all sprites. Also.. 2 years later.. even a year is long enough for certain advancement and change of taste of the consumer.
  23. Doesn't the standard battlesphere have a bug that makes the game unbeatable which was fixed in BSG? Doesn't it freeze after wave 40?
  24. as long as it's not one of ShitStains4U's auctions, go for it
