  1. UH.... that looks like the Game Gear/Master System Handheld Curt developed. Coleco and Playpal released it but in a different casing. Sonic Blast is a Game Gear game not Sonic 3D Blast for the Genesis which is an entirely different game. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...94760&st=60
  2. These are the kind of people that have made me NOT collect for the Jag as much as I did a couple years ago. I only collect to play so I could care less about the Catbox which is no real use to me.. who actually uses one constructively? Or is it just a "crown jewel" along with that Ultra Gold Plated Battlecube Alpha w/ Leather interior?
  3. I asked a similair question about the FPS games that were on the CD32 in another thread on this forum. I did alittle research and found that they never did a Doom port because the system couldn't handle it very well, from what I read Gloom and the other FPS were the best that could be done on the Amiga with the scrunched field of view and heavily pixelated sprites. If they had made Doom port for it, it could have been worse then the 3DO port which was horrendous. But then again with good coders it may have been pulled off but with alot of cut corners :/ Isn't Jaguar DOOM mainly running on the 68000 only according to interviews with Carmack? It isn't fair to compare GLOOM to a port of DOOM actually done by Carmack. Well it's not just the CPU.. the Genesis had a 68000 as well but they didn't make a DOOM port until the 32X came out which added alot more functionality that made it capable of running (but still stripped down). It really comes down to the cpu, memory and most importantly the graphics processor. Doesn't mean some enterprising programmer couldn't have pulled it off back then.

  5. I use paint for all my pixel art too, it's a simple program but you can do wonders with it if you try.
  6. all I have to say to this question is
  7. you'd have to a "diehard" collector if you'd want one of these.. I didn't even think it had any games because it was basically DOA in the gaming scene. This is more of one of those things for somebody to gloat about but really lol who cares.
  8. It's like a $25 charge from whatever you get back.. and anything under that won't be acknowledged. I think that defeats the purpose of a refund.
  9. The original Power Rangers is linkable, I own it and the versus mode would be lame without 2p play. All the official GG Mortal Kombat games supported link play.. MK3 I'm unsure of, I remember it only got released in Europe on the GG then released in Brazil on the Master System.. I would think it had link support as a fighting game with no 2 player support is rather lame. Have you checked out SMSpower? They have alot of info on GG and SMS including alot of international box scans which may have the link cable symbol missing on some games.. the early games before they added the Purple border design had a green box that said 1 player or 1-2 players on the cart label
  10. I'm curious, I saw screens of FPS games on the CD32 from MobyGames and they looked all scrunched up and heavily pixelated. Is that what those games really look like or is it from poor emulation?
  11. It's just another franachise that Sega never did anything with :/ like Eternal Champions.. the Saturn version they canned could have been amazing and they were making a new Chaken for Dreamcast which they also canned.. i saw prelim videos of Chaken's character model and animation.. looked like it would have been a really great game..
  12. Thats what keeps me from buying off Ebay alot lately.. Shipping Gouging... hate it. Ebay claims they do something about it but they don't which is why so many can demand 20-30 shipping for an item that costs 5-9 to ship
  13. Amen to that I have both the Genesis and Game Gear versions, too bad they never continued that series
  14. Anybody know of any C compilers for Sega Master System programming? I've gotten into it through some great guides on ASM by Maxim on the SMSpower forums but theirs just not enough documentation on programming for beginners and most of the sources I've found are in C, gets frustrating when you want to learn how to program :/
  15. This is a common one, I think this guy is just wasting his money :: most people only fall for the ones pertaining to a hot must have item not a system.. if you need a system that bad try google lol
  16. A Baseball game for the Jag, now thats an awesome development
  17. I've been working on modding a Game Gear plug n play system into a console that can play both Game Gear and Master System Games on my tv. It seems pretty feasible with the use of Game Gear on a Chip technology in these PnP games. I've already wired the P1 controller port as you can see here, which functions perfectly project in it's current state I can't quite figure out how to put in support for a 2nd player port. The Game gear did 2 player games through the gear to gear cable via the comm port, I dunno if the 2 player signal is accessible through the GGoaC also.. the fact the GG had a start button and the SMS didn't is another issue. Thank you for any help
  18. Are you serious? That game was horrible... actually to call it a game is doing it a favor, goes for $10 or less used. Good luck getting your asking price.
  19. Wow.. just wow. This is a nicely done remake It'd be cool if he had used mp3 or wav for the music but it's still good
  20. am I too unreasonable? :/ If anybody has a semi working unit they want to sell for a fair price I might be interested but what I really want is just the cartridge connector for an hack project I'm working on. Thanks.
  21. Started my project with a simple controller port hack (how do you resize images on this forum?) It works great so far, since I didn't have a genesis controller I plug in an Atari 2600 joystick hah hah let me tell you.. playing Sonic with an Atari joystick is smooth. Some minor problems though.. I wired it according to the Master System pinout which creates the problem of no start button, I wired that wire to TH on the DB-9 but since I don't have a Genesis pad with me as of now I can't test that. My next step is to incorporate a second player controller port but I have no clue how to wire this to the board since the unit was built for a single player game.
  22. Yes you heard me.. a broken game gear. I need one for parts and don't want to dismantel a working unit. If you have one and want to get rid of it I'll take it. I won't pay more then 9-10 for a broken system if moneys the object.
  23. Ebay prices are always inflated... I got my PCE Duo off of a member of this forum for 132 he originally wanted 160 but didn't have a spare A/V and AC which I had laying around. But.. since it's a Turbo Duo we're talking about here, don't expect to get one with all the included stuff for under 250 - 300 :/ Turbo Duo's are alot more valued by collectors (for obvious reasons hah hah)
  24. I like what Ben Heck has been able to do but it's so bulky and ugly :/
  25. Took the thing apart, two large globs... I can assume the central glob conceals the cpu but interestingly enough the second in on top of a small pcb with a glob in the middle, I do believe this is the rom chip.. (sorry about the picture quality.. only had my cell phone for pictures) heres a crude picture of the rom chip It has 44 pins, a few unused. The original Game Gear had 45 for it's cartridges, the last 3 (43,44,45) being used for the TV Tuner, I think this is quite hackable
