Sega Nomad Type device coming out July 25th fro $50
EmOneGarand replied to Gavica's topic in Classic Console Discussion
That's actually a ripoff of the Hyperkin version which is the one with the SD card capability. -
I decided to fire up my colecovision today and I mistook my TI-99 power supply for my Colecos, I plugged that in and I could smell that something fried... with the proper AC I'm not getting picture or sound now. Is there anyway to fix this or am I left with a dead Coleco?

Sorry for this noobish question Can you explain to me exactly what that does? Thanks. it erases all the data on the EEPROM, however this doesn't do anything for the EEPROM's memory (i.e. how many times it can be written to before it won't hold any new data)

thats something I'd like to know too..

Mega Man clone on the 8-bit: Is it possible?
EmOneGarand replied to ApolloBoy's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
have you seen Space Harrier XL? If that can be done as well as it is.. Mega Man would be a breeze. -
What are the boxes with the orange strip at the end of the box? I've never seen that on any Jag boxes before.

'gas' is short for 'Gasoline' that is not the 'gas' that is in your digestive track. Petrol is a shortening of Petroleum Spirits.. which if you look it up is nothing more then a synonym for Gasoline.. for you to say that my term is incorrect is very ignorant, I think you need look at it from a culturally unbiased point of few before spouting your BS about how we 'yanks' are incorrect.

you know this game was released.. but as that awful Wu Tang Clan game with all the characters changed into rappers.

so your holding pause on both controllers at the option screen and it's not working?

I had a pretty similar experience dealing with them.. their rather rude when their behind on their orders and seem to treat new customers making inquiries with the same attitude. Can't say I'd want to do business with them only if I had no other choice..

that section is rather neglected unfortunately

A Dos emulator like DOSBox would help with that issue, though I'm unsure of any that were written for Macs though their probly are since their are Windows Emulators for Macs.
-
Toys R Us sells them for $20

Don't forget AtlantisGameGroup however.. since we may be needing a new coder I have nothing to show but sprite animations for Obliterator...

I have seen many oxidized mylar ribbon cables and they work just fine. My suggestion would be to take the KB apart, remove the mylar sheet and spacer sheet and clean everything gently with rubbing alcohol. (Get yourself a small cup to put all the screws in so you don't loose any) Also check to make sure the silver function keys slide up and down easily. Then reassemble and try again. If That does not work, let me know I think I have a spare 800XL KB. Its yours if you need it for the price of postage. I can't tell whats wrong with it, the mylar looks intact, no breaks in the leads either just alot of oxidization on the outer leads

Thanks, It must have been the keyboard. I unhooked it then booted it up, it went straight to READY. It also booted up a cartridge immediately. The Start button didn't seem to be stuck though I havn't taken that apart yet to see what may be wrong with it. I noticed the ribbon wire contacts are oxidized, could this be part of the problem as well?

1. Make sure the power supply you are using is good. Check the 800XL with another PS. If you don't have one then put a meter on the power supply and make sure you are getting 5V DC and no AC. 2. I would also open it up and reseat all the socketed chips. 3. With the 800XL open and turned on, check for any extra warm RAM chips. 4. Question: Is the 800XL hanging when there is nothing connected to its SIO bus? I was unclear if you disconnected everything. nope, all I got with the unit was the PSU so there was nothing hooked up to it.

Just got an 800XL I won on Ebay, when I turn it on it makes this obnoxious long beeping sound then stops and hangs on a blue screen with the cursor static, sometimes it will display "Boot Error" then display the READY, sometimes it just locks up. I've gotten the Memory Test screen a couple times already (didn't get any red squares). Is the ram bad? I just got Yoomp in the mail and have only been able to get it to boot the cartridge twice.. (I do not have the tape deck or disk drives btw)

I got #16. I enjoy it but yeah I agree with most that have mentioned the sometimes frustrating difficulties with that blue [email protected] getting you when your just about to complete the level...

There isn't a code that makes this game bareable

Fine! Fine! Just dont post any pictures, ok? And if it's really causing you to pop chubbies, maybe its not a Jaguar....maybe its a Shagaur. Good point, as Battlesphere for all it's brilliance will statistically ever be seen by just about zero percent of the population. Hard to showcase a system that way. And good point about Buddies too. Its not Buddybuddies fault. The truth of the matter is only 1% of the Jag community can afford the incredibly ridiculous Battlesphere prices. When I think of a showcase game for a system it should be something that every fan of the system is able to acquire at a reasonable price. Not something when friends come over that I have to hop on youtube to show them some mythical game from a faraway land where people are far more wealthier than I. It's not available to the masses easily at all so like you said, its hard to count it as a showcase game. well lets just hope whatever copy protection gorf and his constituents are working on is enough for Thunderbird to reconsider a re-release.

What's the bump about? The veswiki.com is up and working... Just raising the thread because of the useful code info you had given me awhile back. May help other people.
