    I'm planning on attending but I might stay long just to hear you speak

    I had the same problem last year, they don't put out a schedule of events

    and I had no idea when the guitar hero guy for C=64 demo did his or anything else.

    so if there's no schedule of events again this year,don't expect me to wait to hear

    your speech. so I'm basically with everybody else even though I'm not overseas

    have somebody record your speech to you tube this way every one will get a chance to see

    it.

    (also I usually come right after I get off work around noon)

     

    WOW! The schedule gets posted in the expo hall around 9 am. This expo is FREE to attend, Jason pays for the room out of his pocket. We commodore guys tend to be a little more free flowing as more cool things happen when there is not some rigid schedule. Our clubs expo has an event list, its a blacnk sheet of paper with the times written on it and whoever wants to talk can add their name to the list. or if they just popped in, grab the Mic.

     

    We also tend to have a pretty big after party, I think we crashed around 4am (thought the cops and fire trucks had a little to do with that)

     

    Not attending or staying because of a schedule is your choice, but it GUARANTEES you will always miss something cool!

     

    BTW, we are thinking of opening the Cincy expo up to all classic computers/games. Cincy begins 8am on a saturday and stops at 4 pm sunday. We also usually have a pre-expo setup friday until about 10 pm.

    UIEC is the way to go. I have 5.

     

    I also have a 1541 ultimate, but have no real need to use it as all my c64 disk images are of cracked games. you only need 1541 emulation if you are playing d64s that are not cracked or g64s. The uiec can do disk swapping, I played phantasie 1 just the other day on it.

     

    Juffydos should be a prerequisite so you are not typing long commands to change directories.

     

    As far as not comparable to what the atari has, I'd say false. you can put your disk images on the uiec and change diretory to the file name and it opens as if you were loading the floppy.

     

    pretty cool and useful stuff.

    This post was not well thought out at all. NO research could have been done due the the wide (and wrong) assumptions. I received a homebrew 7800 cart in the mail just last week. Also, if we needed 6502s, there is no reason to "re-create" them as you can buy BRAND NEW ones right here: http://www.westerndesigncenter.com/wdc/w65c02s-chip.cfm

     

    We have used these chips to repair broken consoles and computers with no issues.

     

    Would I buy a 100% clone? yes. Just get someone with a grasp of the english language and capable of doing actual research to make it....

    I posted weeks ago that Curt had contacted me, but the doofs just keep on coming. I'll post as often and about this where ever I please, and no amount of badgering from naive anonymous forum users can do shit about it....

    First, everything I posted was a valid question to be asking 6 months after the fact.

     

    I get that it is a small operation, I get that Curt has real health issues. I get that this is a niche product.

     

    What I do not get is the rampant campaign to keep the nasty side of this thread alive. Almost all of the posters here have such blinders on when it comes to discussing this, that there is no discussion. Do I have a reputation for stirring the pot, you bet, morons bring out the worst in me.

     

    Curt and I had civilized private messages regarding the status, and that was posted as satisfactory. Still the attacks come.

     

    For the record I am involved in "niche hardware project" much more complicated than a Joystick (no offense Curt) I'll be happy to post the pics of the boards here once we receive them from the fab. I know what it takes to get this kind of a project from start to finish. I know what a hassle it is to have to plan for every contingency. The only difference besides time frame, is that I communicate with our customers on a regular basis. I understand there were extenuating circumstances this time, but, and I have said this a million times, trusting the word of some random peoples assurances on a message board is foolhardy to say the least.

     

    For the record, I could not possibly be one of these people you found out about on message boards, as I am primarily a Mac user, promote BSD based firewalls and make a hell of a living supporting customers "wintel" systems (apparently if you use windows, somehow, in your mind, that makes you opinions less valid)

     

    Perhaps you should start a fortune telling site, you seem to have a knack for processing the truth into fantasy...

    Yes, thank you for pointing me to the webpage where I ordered the joysticks from, it was most enlightening. Clearly I haven't been there and needed the url pointed out. I mean, why would I check the site where I ordered it from? I certainly would not have looked there first.

     

    I am also aware of who designed the flashback 2, My questions were somewhat rhetorical. See it can't be both ways, alot of people here have tried to tell me this is not a business.... It clearly is.

     

    Anyway, I am going to assume that now that my lost order has been found and Curt and I have exhanged emails, that my stuff will arrive shortly.

     

    If someone wants to ban me from AA, go for it. My concerns are valid, I think waiting until about 10 days ago to start asking was pretty damn patient on my part.

I'd say plenty of people count pointing out the question had already been answered before it was asked as being in the useful column, and moronic flame fanboy comments in the useless column.     Yes, it had been answered, by someone that doesn't *REALLY* know the answer. Now we see that they apparently do not have detachable cords (or at least there is no way to kow which you are getting)

     

    So, if you are a part of Legacy Engineering, then why did you not know this revelation? Of course, you probably did and decided to to pile back on, because how dare someone question something on AtariAge? Why, we must be be made to see the light.

     

    This is a fucking hobby, not a religion. There is no royalty, there is no blind trust. Its unfortunate that Curt has health problems that are clearly going to be lifelong, noone wishes that on anyone.

     

    But if you cannot understand the frustration felt by the "non-believers" then you are wearing blinders. It seems the list of problems gets bigger.

     

    What I would like to know is this:

     

    Is Legacy Engineering a company? or is it a group of like-minded hobbyists doing something for cost.

     

    If the answer is a company, you are a poor public face for them. It does not matter how much shit is flung, in customer service you address the issues only and try to bring peace to the situation. Your posts are inflammatory and insulting and imply that people "don't read the posts"

     

    Also, if the answer is company, then there is a contractual obligation to deliver what is advertised in a timely fashion after accepting payment.

     

     

    Curt: I personally hope you get/stay healthy and I don't care which sticks I recieve, but an ETA would be great.

    I received a reply from Curt, and it looks liek all is well.

     

    What I find annoying is all the people that are getting shitty that we would dare question someone on this forum. Do some research on cmdrkey.com or Maurice Randall, and perhaps then you will understand. 4 years ago, he could do no wrong and was a savior to the commodore community, where is he now? Still nit shipping 5 year old paid for orders....

     

    and it does not matter to me if I paid $5 or $5000, I treat the transaction the same. Doesn't matter that its not a lot of money. can i afford to lose $60? sure. But it would have still pissed me off if that were the case.

     

    And like I said in my post, I do not know anyone from Legacy or any of the supportive posters here, so forgive my initial apprehension. You are an anonymous person on the internet, why the hell would I assume since you say its ok, then everything is fine.

    Hrm, I think I just covered that. Also, anyone that accepts Credit cards should be expected to be treated like a real business, I assume he is not doing this as a community project or we would be getting them at cost.

    Clearly the October orders have not been sent, or I would have mine. If you didn't know this guy and the only reassurance you had was a bunch of people you have never met telling you it's cool, you might be a little weary of getting something you paid for 6 months ago, especially since there has been zero communication.

     

    The bitch of it is there is no recourse because the transaction is so old.

    I have no idea what is going on, other than its almost 6 months after I ordered and I have not even a reply....

     

    Top that off with no confirmed shipped sticks makes you wonder. The rough math is somehwere around $150k that people have laid out to get nothing for the last 5 months...

     

    There was one guy claiming to have recieved his, but his pics are suspicious...

    I did read it, you are just as out of line as anyone else in this, especially making assumptions. There should be a marketplace section and an auction section. I see no need for ebay/ctcw posts in a for sale area, if you are into this kind of stuff you already know what is listed on ebay/ctcw....
