Since nobody's replied, she's going to have them recycled. Please close this thread. -
Holy necrobump, Batman! But thanks lol

Most 1TB 2.5" drives are too tall at 12mm (and NewEgg has a 2TB one listed but it's 15mm tall).. 9.5mm drives fit the best. I keep thinking about taking a SATA extension cable and cobbling together an external enclosure to get over 1TB. Not sure how the file system would handle it tho. Sony uses a funky proprietary file system for PS3.

It's called high-speed cable internet and background downloading. Not to mention the fact that you don't HAVE to use the HD they include with the system. I have the biggest drive that would physically fit in the machine and it works fine.

Wntermute replied to Atarigal70's topic in Show Us Your Collection!
I see some extras of the same title.. are they different somehow? -
I just took another look at that page.. there's a Kindle version much cheaper than the print one. ($19 and change vs. $71 and change)

Just to update, I put up a sample of how this is progressing on my website. It can be reached at: http://obroa-skai.net/source/index.php It's pretty much up to date with what's on the wall as far as games and videos go, not so much with the Star Wars stuff, which is blocked off at the moment. Once my closet gets completed and the wall freed up again, I'll take some new pics. Then hopefully I can get more than 2 systems hooked up to the TV.

I have a 750gb in my original 20gig BC model. Biggest drive you can physically fit into the machine as of a year or two ago. 1TB laptop drives are usually too tall (12mm instead of 9mm). However, since it's standard SATA, I'd imagine it'd only be a matter of using cables and an external case to plug a 2TB drive in there. Not sure the formatting/partitioning scheme the PS3 uses could handle anything bigger.

I got both back in the day and still have them. There was theoretically some issue with playing them on the original model PS2s but I never had any problem with it. Quirky and fun.

Either of these look great..

Yes and yes.

Wow.. sorry it's taken so long to post this. Here's a clearer shot of the wall with the games in sleeves.

Sounds like there'll be more XM enhanced/required games at launch than the 3DS had 3DS games. lol

Wntermute replied to cimerians's topic in Sony Playstation 3
Looks like some people are buying these at least.. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/11/07/psn-top-sellers-october-2011-edition/ Odin Sphere and God Hand both made the top 20 list for October. -

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/11/06/the-drop-week-of-november-7th-2011-new-releases/ Continuing the stream of releases: Full Spectrum Warrior Stuntman: Ignition Gonna pass on these, but it's good to see they're making an effort to have a steady stream of content. Oh, also Chrono Chross on PSOne classics .. but I already have the original. -
The pic in the first post looks like the European style SNES controller. The US one had lavender and dark purple buttons instead of RGBY.

This is being created by MonkeyPaw Games, the company behind all the non-Capcom PSOne Classic Imports titles.

The way they choose which games to put on PSOne Classics (and now PS2 Classics) sometimes seems like they're throwing darts at a board full of game names randomized up.. Castlevania: SOTN and Final Fantasy VII were no-brainers.. but Motor Toon Grand Prix? Yakiniku Bugyou? XS Junior League Football? Also, why did they have to use the import version of Tall Unlimited and Blockids? or the Mega Man games? Those were already localized.. though to be fair, the Mega Man ones were on the PS2 compilation rather than released separately. -
"Online" passes are now in single player games
Wntermute replied to xg4bx's topic in Modern Console Discussion
The only pack-in download codes I've ever had problems with were iTunes Digital Copy codes in WB movies. They set a lot of their early Digital Copy releases to expire on March 30, 2010 with no exceptions. Many other studios also put expiration dates on the code pages but still allowed Apple to redeem them. The only game-related code I've had problems with was one for a pack of avatars from the Ratchet & Clank All-4-One game, but watching a video gave me another code that was good for them anyway. -

This is something that bugs me nowadays. Places like iTunes, Qriocity, Spotify, and the like are all going "we have MILLIONS of songs".. sure, you may have millions of songs, but not any of the ones *I* want. My tastes in music, games, and other entertainment are varied and eclectic. Since my tastes aren't mainstream, they don't get catered to, whatsoever. I'll be steering back to the topic here.. while others are quite happy to sip content and move on, I like to enjoy it at my own pace. That's why my wall is dominated by hundreds of titles for a myriad of consoles, audio/video devices and.. yes, good old books. I make it a point to buy whatever I can new to let the creators get their fair share and when there's content only available for a limited time, I do my best to get it then. Companies like Microsoft and Activision are killing the "long tail". There, I said it. You want DLC for that old XBL-aware Xbox game? Sorry, you can no longer get the Dark Jedi Cuisinart that is Asajj Ventress in your Battlefront 2. You want to play as villains or Juggernaut in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2? Sorry there too. The "long tail" is there for a reason, it serves a purpose, but it's sad that they can't foot the bill for an extra little server in the corner to let people get old content, even for free. I'm not advocating making all old DLC free, but it does have its pros and cons, just like making it available does.
