  1. Nice additions...I'd say the Track & Field Box is probably the toughest..
  2. As a child, the mad scientist in me took over one day when I was told to clean the garage. In the garage I found motor oil, ammonia and chlorine crystals for a swiming pool (we didn't have a pool). I mixed them together and the oil started to bubble with a white smoke. The next thing I knew, the garage was filled with smoke. My father came out and asked what I was doing and told me that I could kill myself if I inhaled that gas. He opened the garage door and let the gas out. I learned my lesson that day...the next time I tried it was in a big hole that I dug in the backyard....fun times!
  3. You are off to a good start, but things can change when there is a ring on the finger and when kids enter the picture.
  4. This has never been a problem for me. My wife loves purses and has an extensive collection. It began with Coach, then Burberry, then Louis Vuitton and now Hermes. She has a few very expensive limited edition ones. Anyone ever hear of a Birkin? I collect video games, she is as disinterested in my video games as I am in her purses. But we both recognize our desire to collect things...so there is no problem.
  5. M-Network is probably the easiest. Activision has alot of fun games and is not too hard on the wallet. Subterranea is the tough one for Imagic (not including Cubicolor and Atlantis II). Mr. Do's Castle and Frogger II are the keys to Parker Brothers.
  6. Some pretty nice items...you need to figure out a way for people to bid remotely. I'm sure those items will go for more if you do.
  7. I think the essence of the original labe should be preserved. However, I think it would be prudent to alter the label so that it is easily recognizable as a reproduction. A variation of the colors or perhaps a colored border. I hate to see new classic game enthusiasts overpaying for items they think are original or authentic (i.e. Hozer carts). It is bad for the hobby...
  8. Actually, it does matter. Paypal will report you to the IRS. But you only have to pay taxes on net income. That is why you have to keep track of your expenses. Gross income-expenses=net income. The net income is what can be taxed. So if you received $20K in sales, but you had $18K in expenses then you can be taxed on $2K. In simpler terms, if you bought a game for $10, sold it for $25, but paid $5 to ship it, you would only pay tax on $10.
  9. The key to this is to keep accurate records. Make sure you know your costs. You only have to pay taxes on the profit...if there is one.
  10. Don't worry, the bank is required by law to notify the IRS of any transaction over $10,000.00. It is called a Currency Transaction Report (CTR). So, the government will know about both of these sales and the sellers need to keep records and expect to pay taxes on the profits. Medium Bob's has the advantage of rolling the profit into their business and they can offset the value with any losses or other business expenses.
  11. Kudos to you for contacting the programmer for his permission.
  12. I believe that this is second highest amount for a public sale of an atari cartridge. The boxed Air Raid is the only one higher.
  13. We have different opinions of near! Worth every penny to end this 5 year ordeal! May we presume we now know who the winner is? No...I didn't buy it, but I do know that it sold for several thousand dollars less than nagn was offered privately.
  14. We have different opinions of near! Worth every penny to end this 5 year ordeal!
  15. I actually don't think you want to sell it. I think you have enjoyed all of the attention it has brought you during these last five years. I think that it will be hard for you to let all of that go.
  16. I think his reserve is not based on legitimate offers, it is based on speculation by people who have no intention of buying the item. The price is obviously overinflated at this point. 6 months ago, he could have gotten substantially more for the item. At this point it is probably worth significantly less than the current bid.
