  1. Well, my collection is far from complete, since I've only had a Lynx for about four months. But I'm doing pretty well so far, and I've managed to pick up a few rare games. So far I have: Awesome Golf Batman Returns Blue Lightning California Games Chip's Challenge Desert Strike Electrocop Fidelity Ultimate Chess Challenge Gates of Zendocon Gauntlet Hydra Ishido Klax Lemmings Ninja Gaiden III Pacland Paperboy Pinball Jam Rampage Rampart Roadblasters Robotron 2084 STUN Runner Scrapyard Dog Shanghai Super Skweek Todd's Adventures in Slime World Toki Warbirds Xybots
  2. I'm not actually sure, I imagine PAL though as that's the system here in NZ.
  3. It was on an auction site based here in New Zealand, price would be just under US$20 I guess. Cartridge only unfortunately, but I still think that's a pretty good buy for a really rare game!
  4. I picked up a cheap sealed copy of Chip's Challenge, assuming it would be the curved lip version. I opened it up and it turned out to be the rare ridged cartridge version! So anyone else got any good Lynx buys lately?
  5. Putting aside the additional features of the Lynx II, and the fact that the paint on the Lynx I rubs off, etc, which basic design do you prefer? I definitely prefer the Lynx II, I think it remains quite a stylish looking handheld.
  6. I have this game on a '2-on-1' cartridge for Game Boy Advance (coupled with Gauntlet), so when I saw the Lynx version in an online auction, I was hesitant to buy it as I already had a handheld version. Thankfully I did get it, as despite being about 15 years older, the Lynx version is MUCH better than the GBA version. The GBA version has sharper graphics (because of the GBA's higher resolution) and more speech, but lacks the animations and cut scenes of the Lynx version, and the Lynx version just seems to play better and has a certain 'something' that the GBA version lacks.
  7. Haven't had a Lynx for very long, so far I have managed to pick up: California Games Ishido Klax Hydra Paperboy Batman Returns Lemmings Warbirds Ninja Gaiden 3 Shadow of the Beast Rampage Pac-Land Pinball Jam Scrapyard Dog
  8. Does anyone know the story behind this? Was it a 'homebrew' port or was it intended for commercial release?
  9. #1 was a Superman video game, "Not from Atari" :!: :!: Was it Superman 64 on the Nintendo 64?
  10. I love simple tennis games. I'm also a big fan of 'Tennis' on the NES. I have 'Andre Agassi Tennis' for the Sega Master System, but that's a bit too complicated.
  11. The rarest that I have would be the infamous 'Custer's Revenge' and 'Beat 'em and Eat 'em'.
  12. So far I have picked up (all quite cheaply)... California Games Ishido Klax Hydra Paperboy Batman Returns Lemmings Warbirds Ninja Gaiden 3 Shadow of the Beast Rampage So what should I look for next?
  13. I can't seem to get this game to run in colour at all - would this be a PAL/NTSC problem? I have a PAL 2600 so I'm guessing it may be an NTSC cartridge. Or might this be a different problem?
  14. Yeah, that's right, it's on this site under the name 'Bloody Human Freeway', and the ROM is downloadable as well.
  15. I believe that the blood on the GBA version of Doom was changed from red to green, hence the lower rating. Although, interestingly, Wolfenstein 3D was released uncensored and with an M rating, in contrast to the games earlier fate on a Nintendo console...
  16. Thanks for all the recommendations, looks like Conquest of Mars is a 'must buy', and I'll hopefully check out some of the others under emulation.
  17. Don't forget that you can 'try before you buy' with emulators. That way you can make sure you like it, then show your support (and love of playing on a real VCS) by buying a cart. ps - are you a XTC fan? Yep, sure am, they're my favourite band!
  18. Hi there, I'm new here so sorry if this question has been asked before. I'm planning to buy a few homebrew carts, and I was just wondering which were considered to be the best, most 'essential', etc. I'll definitely buy Wolfenstein VCS as I'm a Wolfenstein fan, but I'm not sure what else to get.
