Atari 2600 homebrews converted to ColecoVision
purenergy replied to Pixelboy's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Another Skeleton+ fan here, as I would love to see it on the Colecovision! Fall Down would also be an excellent choice, as it is hard to stop playing this game. -
(Updated July 10) Thanks, more to come....

Any other Rayman fans here? The trailer looks good: I loved the first game on the Jaguar, and this 2D game looks very promising.

Wow! Very nice job with your pause switch Yurkie. Being able to stop gameplay, and mute the sound, would be a welcome addition to the Colecovision. Keep up the great work!

Team Pixelboy news bulletin - May 27th 2010

Everything sounds great. Hope the new boxes come out well. -
So which should I get.. Coleco or Intellivison?
purenergy replied to psquare75's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Colecovision. Although I enjoyed several Intellivision games in the past, the Colecovision simply received more gametime. Arcade and platform games, that would always "pull me into the gameplay", and sometimes lose track of time. As for controllers, the Intellivision were fine, but the standard Colecovision controllers got more gametime from me. Yurkie's "Ball Top" controllers for the Colecovision make a huge difference in accurate control, and make the arcade games even feel more "arcade like." Colecovision Ball Top controllers -
I hope this makes it to an actual cart. Arcade sounds, added to a great game, should have everyone wanting to buy one.

ColecoVision Controller rebuild and joystick ball offer
purenergy replied to Yurkie's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Yurkie did such a great job on these Colecovision controllers that I had to buy another set! (Yes, they are that good.) This controller, with the ball top and straight line cord, simply enables you to enjoy a classic game again, as well as truly experience the recent homebrews on your Colecovision. I tested the ball-top controllers on several games, and enjoyed the better control, and not having the coiled cord pulling back while playing. A big "THANK YOU" to Yurkie on his fine work for Colecovision fans! -
Very nice Yurkie!

I remember that old 2-page ad. Your very large Colecovision poster looks clean and very professional. Keep up the great work!

Bought some dyed 2600 joysticks from AX (which turned out great!) They arrived quick, with no problems. AX is always highly recommended in my book! Thanks.

This Colecovision Game Checklist is put together very well, and great for all CV fans! Very handy, and exactly what I needed to start some serious collecting again. Thank you Yurkie, and everyone else for your help/additions. -
Just bought 2 carts to help out. Hopefully the goal will be reached, and she will be able to attend CGE. Thanks.

Prototype ColecoVision Controller PCBs with spinner componets
purenergy replied to Yurkie's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Nice controllers Yurkie. I would love to see a spinner put into them, if possible. -
Thanks for making this available, as I missed the first edition. PM sent.

3 most obvious choices would be Berzerk, Wizard of Wor and Bosconian. And yep, the OKI is going to the SGM. Always wanted to have them, but couldn't find a source. And they are good not just for voices, but for all kind of very complex sound effects. Donkey Kong Arcade should use it for the walking and jumping sound FXs for example. The two more convenient sampling frequencies are 6.4kHz and 8kHz. Both don't require much memory (3.2kB/s and 4kB/s respectively) and the sound FIFO can be loaded just once per interrupt, which is perfect for the CV. Arcade like voice sounds on a Colecovision! Excellent! Berzerk, Wizard of Wor and Bosconian, speaking from a Colecovision! Great choices that everyone would love to hear. If there were any way of creating better voice sound in the Q*bert game (maybe Q*bert Arcade version?), Yurkie and I would grab the first two available! Thank you for your continued excellent work on the Colecovision.
