  1. There have been some awesome homebrews released on the Atari 2600 these past few years, many of which are original games. If you were to pick one (or maybe two) of those 2600 homebrews to be converted to the ColecoVision, which one(s) would you pick?

I myself have a soft spot in my heart for Eric Ball's Skeleton+. I think it would make a cool CV homebrew. :)

Another Skeleton+ fan here, as I would love to see it on the Colecovision!

    :D

Fall Down would also be an excellent choice, as it is hard to stop playing this game.

    :)

  2. Colecovision.

    :)

Although I enjoyed several Intellivision games in the past, the Colecovision simply received more gametime. Arcade and platform games, that would always "pull me into the gameplay", and sometimes lose track of time.

    :D

As for controllers, the Intellivision were fine, but the standard Colecovision controllers got more gametime from me. Yurkie's "Ball Top" controllers for the Colecovision make a huge difference in accurate control, and make the arcade games even feel more "arcade like."

  3. Yurkie did such a great job on these Colecovision controllers that I had to buy another set!

    (Yes, they are that good.)

    :D

This controller, with the ball top and straight line cord, simply enables you to enjoy a classic game again, as well as truly experience the recent homebrews on your Colecovision.

I tested the ball-top controllers on several games, and enjoyed the better control, and not having the coiled cord pulling back while playing.

A big "THANK YOU" to Yurkie on his fine work for Colecovision fans!

    :)

  4. Super Kewl!

I vote for Berzerk to be the first game that uses this little beauty! The game itself wouldn't be too hard to program from scratch, and with the proper speech samples, the fans would just eat it up! :D

So anyway, how are you going to add this new chip to the SGM? Will you need to take some existing features out?

3 most obvious choices would be Berzerk, Wizard of Wor and Bosconian.

And yep, the OKI is going to the SGM. Always wanted to have them, but couldn't find a source.

And they are good not just for voices, but for all kind of very complex sound effects.

Donkey Kong Arcade should use it for the walking and jumping sound FXs for example.

The two more convenient sampling frequencies are 6.4kHz and 8kHz. Both don't require much memory (3.2kB/s and 4kB/s respectively) and the sound FIFO can be loaded just once per interrupt, which is perfect for the CV.

Arcade like voice sounds on a Colecovision! Excellent!

    :lust:

Berzerk, Wizard of Wor and Bosconian, speaking from a Colecovision! Great choices that everyone would love to hear.

If there were any way of creating better voice sound in the Q*bert game (maybe Q*bert Arcade version?), Yurkie and I would grab the first two available!

    :D

Thank you for your continued excellent work on the Colecovision.
