I just got one of these a week or so ago, and haven't yet assembled it. My question for now is, can someone point me (and other CC3 owners) toward a website that has Intellivision manuals typed in ASCII format? I would like to take advantage of this feature (i.e. being able to store the instructions on the CC3 along with the games themselves). I am in the process of selling my Intellvision library and am keeping certain overlays; if I knew I could have access to the instruction manuals somehow (either in ASCII format on the CC3 or just physical scans of the manuals on the web somewhere), I wouldn't have to keep any of the manuals and could sell them with the games, helping their value. Of all my systems, I found the Intellvision to be the one where I would need to go back and refer to the manuals often. (It was a well-named system!)

Actually, I think this is the fourth or fifth boxed Quadrun to pop up in the past 6-8 months. Are people all of a sudden deciding to cash out or is it just the law of averages, I wonder? By the way, did you find that PS1 paddle controller? -

I have ended the Flintstones SADP auction early and have relisted it with the corrected spelling; it will start again tonight and be a 5-day auction, ending at the same time as the others. CPUWiz, thanks for the heads up. In your opinion, would that other Quadrun auction cause me to lose out on a big time amount of money? I just can't believe that another one would appear right after I posted mine. This is going to make it look like boxed Quadruns pop up on eBay all the time, like mushrooms after a spring rain. I've discovered that I can't change the ship-to options on auctions that have bids on them; what I am able to do is lift the restriction of non-U.S. people of not being able to bid on my auctions, allowing anyone from anywhere to bid on them. I wouldn't be able to limit the regions. I am leaning toward doing this so I could be more inclusive (I've already changed it for the relisted SADP cart). I'd appreciate any input before I went ahead and did that, maybe later this evening. Thanks for all the help; I'm learning a lot about the selling side of eBay. -

Holy dear mother of crap. I just realized I had made a typo (twice!) and misspelled "Surprise" on my Flintstones auction. This is incredibly ironic as I am an English teacher and am a stickler for spelling; doubly so because I typed everything up in a Word document and carefully proofread it beforehand (should've used spellchecker). I think I will end that one early and relist it with the correct spelling. And the one time where correct spelling is the most important. I might as well have spelled my Quadrun auction as "Kwaadruhn". -

How often does a complete in box Quadrun come up for auction? I was afraid something like this would happen. I tried to pick a clear time with no other Quadruns up for auction--wish he could have waited a few more days. -
Several golden video gaming nuggets for sale on eBay (ROUND TWO)

I really hated excluding overseas members and I've had some second thoughts about my listings. I've bought a lot of stuff internationally myself, and I bought a few things from the U.S. when I was living in Korea. But I've hardly sold anything in the past, so my selling experience is limited and I wanted to minimize any risks. I decided I wanted to go back and include bidders from Canada, UK, Germany, and Australia. Unfortunately, it appears that I can't change that option once any auction has been bid on, and most of them have been. If I can't change all of them, then I don't want to change only 2 or 3. I don't understand eBay's rationale for not allowing me to change that particular option once an item has been bid on. Does anyone have any insight? In the meantime, I once again apologize to any interested person outside of the U.S. for excluding them this time around (next time I'll be more inclusive) and hope that I didn't appear to be a Nervous Nellie or Xenophobic Xerxes. I know that I get frustrated when there's something I want to buy in another country and can't (e.g. I wanted to buy some licorice and treacle toffees from a place in the UK but they wouldn't ship to the U.S.). -

My apologies; I wanted to keep it simple this time around (especially with the customs forms). You're right about Paypal, of course; but I was thinking, with non-U.S. bidders, it would take extra time to go to the post office and figure out the shipping to a different country, then contact the buyer again, and I didn't want to deal with the hassle. But your response is causing me to rethink that, and delving deeper into the US Post office website, I see comprehensive shipping rate information for each country, so that would save me time and trouble right there. Actually, there's not much reason to not ship to another country, as long as the winning bidder could pay with Paypal. I think I might go back in the next day or so and lift that bidding restriction (will eBay let me do that?). -
I have several auctions on eBay right now: 1. Congo Bongo for Intellivision (loose) 2. NES Flintstones Surprise on Dinosaur Peak (loose) 3. Chase the Chuckwagon (loose) 4. Starpath The Official Frogger by Sega (sealed) 10. Super 8 Converter for SNES (in box) 11. Lot of 6 Starpath Supercharger games (complete) 12. Crazy Climber for Atari 2600 (w/instructions) 13. Quadrun for Atari 2600 (complete) 14. TG-16 TurboBooster Plus (loose) 15. TurboGrafx-16 system (complete) 16. Beeshu Joystick for TG-16 (in box) 17. TG-16 five-game lot (in jewelcases w/instructions) http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZk8track They will end one week from tonight, on Sunday, August 26th. Please note that these auctions are Paypal and U.S. only. I do apologize to my non-Paypal, Canadian, and other international friends, but for this first salvo of auctions (there will be more in the coming weeks), it is extremely important that I receive payment in a very timely fashion. Also FYI, I've already gotten an email asking me if I'd end one early, and my answer is no, I won't end any of my auctions early--sorry.

I posted some pics of the paddle disassembled in this topic. Thanks for the link to the pictures, that will be most helpful! I did indeed try that earlier link to Milkman's pictures before posting, but the link was dead. I feel a bit more comfortable giving it a go now.

I'm finding the need to have to clean my paddles and these instructions seem quite thorough and excellent. Since this will be my first attempt at something like this, however, I would find pictures most helpful. Is there a link to somewhere that would have pictures accompanying these cleaning instructions?

That was a great year. I completed my sixth and final undergrad year, got my diploma, worked as a Night Stocker (not Stalker) at a grocery store, was almost driven crazy by the incessant tunes of Hootie and the Blowfish while working there, and worked a few clerical temp jobs. Yep, Adventure II is well worth the 12-year wait.

I agree, but I also think it's important for archival purposes as well. Sure, it's a homebrew game but it's also part of the Atari legacy and history. Hope to see more before it comes out! -Ron I'm with the both of ya. I think every step of the process is quite fascinating, and it's great of Al to post each step for posterity. It never really occurred to me what kind of work goes in to making these things--sure makes me appreciate it all the more. It will make the game extra sweet for me (kind of like being able to observe Stradivari in his workshop!).

Ahh, that reminds me of autumn, when I like to rake up a big pile of EPROMS and take a running jump into them. Yes sir... the cold, crisp air... mulled apple cider... and EPROMS. It's all part of a marvelous tapestry.

I think Adventure 0 for the RCA Studio II would be pretty sweet. You could also squeeze in Adventure 1/2 for the Microvision (still waiting on a homebrew scene for that one). The ultimate would be Adventure -1 for the Magnavox Odyssey which would utilize carts #1, 3, and 9 (let's get some use out of that rifle) and brand new overlays. How's that for throwing down a gauntlet?

Wizard of Wor for the 5200.The same as the 2600 version?
k8track replied to jboypacman's topic in Atari 5200
Just want to add my 2 cents and agree with remowilliams here. Among the home versions, the Bally Astrocade is the very best--it's simply wonderful, mind-blowing. You know how great the 5200, 8-bit, and even 2600 versions are, but the Bally Astrocade version is tops, so that's saying something. -
The very one that Raindog and PongHit described sounds absolutely ideal for me. I have a Mac with an X-Arcade (which I haven't been totally happy with either, but that's another thread for another time), and I would love an analog, plug-n-ready-to-go paddle that just sits on top. The link that Raindog provided is broken, and I've searched on eBay with no luck. I would gladly pay $35 for such a controller, in a heartbeat. I got the Powermate about three years ago, and was disappointed with it the very minute I tried it. You absolutely cannot play anything with it. It is useless to me. I can't remember what I paid for it, somewhere in the neighborhood of $40-45 I think. I really haven't even used it since that time, and sort of put playing arcade paddle games on the back burner. Recently, my desire has been renewed; hence, my resurrection of this post. PongHit or Raindog, if you're still around, please share the wealth and let me know where and how to get one of these--I (along with many others, I'm sure) would be most appreciative. Thanks!

Paddle/dial games are very, VERY important to me... (Check my screename.) And I've spent a lot of time & money investigating this subject... At first, I thought the PowerMate was *almost* acceptable for Tempest -- but it is worthless for games that REQUIRE a mouse... For games like Super Breakout, Arkanoid, Kaboom!, etc., I found the PowerMate to be an exercise in frustration. I contacted the people at Griffin & they said the don't recommend it for gaming because it's incapable of using (analog) mouse drivers... the PowerMate is all digital! (You'd be better off using a mouse or trackball than a PowerMate, because they are analog.) Then, I got a real arcade spinner! By comparison, the PowerMate is useless (for gaming). And, yes, that's the type of USB spinner I got from eBay (I recognize the email address)... I love that spinner -- no, no drivers!! Totally plug & play! After you compare the PowerMate to a real spinner, you'll realize how lame the PM is. (Plus -- the PowerMate costs more!) -PongHit Sorry to resurrect such an old topic, but I've been wanting a decent USB paddle that actually works for the longest time. A few years ago I (foolishly) bought the Griffin Powermate and it is useless for paddle games on MAME. All digital, not analog. PongHit, are you still around? Can you (or anyone) tell me where I can get that good analog USB paddle controller? I would be extremely grateful. (A secondary question--can it be used for emulators on a modded Xbox?) Thanks, Kevin

I would dearly love to see Atari Age at the show; I'm very much looking forward to meeting Al in person as well as many other people. I know I haven't posted much here (I need to rectify that!), but I love this site and everything it has done for the VG community, like all the righteous homebrews, the research that has uncovered forgotten prototypes, and very helpful information (e.g. AtariAge helped me to organize my collection properly! See the pics of the plastic storage containers in my collection pictures at http://videogamecollectors.com/gallery/Kev...gaming-chamber). I'm in your debt! Come on out to Vegas, guys! Let's hang! It'll be a blast!

Are there any games in your collection for systems you don't own?
