  1. I really like Ivan Machado's entry but I wanted to suggest a change to it...

Tnx, I'm not good to draw logos, I don't know why.... :(

Anyway, if my entry is choosen and people preffer with these lines no problem to add it...

Cool labels is comming, I can't wait for see Nathan Strum's one :)

  2. I have XP SP2 as well, I bought an old copy of 4.0 that DID work on XP, I hadn't used it in over a year and now it said out of memory when trying to load (but I'm not out of memory). It would certainly help. I love using paintbrush though, as a teen I pushed it to the limits and did stuff with it no one could do at the time without big money and machines.

Too bad, I give a search in adobe site, and they support only up to 5.0 version (translation kits, in most cases)

But I love MSpaint too, all of my sprites, including 2600 stuff, are drawed in ms paint

I never draw in Paint an huge image like you did in your entry, that is impressive.

But in vetorial graphics software (photoshop, corel draw) you have good tools and filters that help alot!

If you don't want to buy a new version, then install it on a older windows or try GIMP, a free graphic software.

Yes, I read that GIMP is a good software. And welcome to AA forum, Holger :)

  3. Ivan's label gets my vote for sure.

    Tnx

Hmn. I gotta get some better programs, I made mine with windows paintbrush on windows 3.1 (yes, really).

I use an old photoshop (6.0), for me not worth buy a new version, I recomend previous photoshop versions (5.0 up to 7.0) for people that need a quick and professional program, my case. And these old photoshop are faster :) I have mine for years!

But I don't know if run in windows 3.1...

  4. Atari 2600 had 128 color pallete, in NTSC system (104 in PAL).

You can freely use all 128 colors in an object (sprite, background, playfield) but change color information by line, not by pixel.

Pretty well for 70's console. :)

  5. Take it easy Wickey, as Thomas Jentzsch said, feel honoured.

And your name is in title screen ;) Anyone who like your game, will do a google search.

Trust me, this site is better than a bit torrent file for a zip with all 2600 rom files.

    Send an email for them.

Edit: Not all programmers had the same think, there are programmers that not even release the rom, and this need be respected. If you don't want see your game in that site, just ask for them to remove.

  6. I never saw one of these, neither the cart nor the handheld (only by shots, of course)...

I'ts extreme rare, Megaboy was produced in 91/92 more or less, and nobody care about 2600 in that time.

    Tnx Batari for the rom.

    Here's a quick translation, let's learn and play! :P

  7. The carts are ntsc, run fine in ntsc consoles, but the console (handheld) is PAL-M, 262 scanlines with pal colors, so will work in ntsc tv with wrong colors information (like a PAL game in NTSC tv) but no screen roll, probably.
