  1. My first time playing this game. Well...maybe several times today. 50,833
  2. I'm inching my score up. It's gonna be tough to break 100k, but still a few days to go! 83,790
  3. My final submission. Not much more than the last, but what the heck! 38,600
  4. Been busy this week so far, but got some good playing time in tonight. This game could be A LOT better with decent collision detection. It is worse than Planet Patrol. 37,800
  5. I've beat my old score by a whopping 1k!! Woo hooo! 75,480 I'd like to put in a request for some nice random fuit please.
  6. Congrats Rick! I can't believe there is an Atari game you didn't have.
  7. I think the feature is cool because it is like a real auction. However, 30-minutes!?!?! I think 30-seconds or 1-minute tops. The other bidder(s) only needs enough time to make a decision on weather to go higher or not. Waiting around 30-minutes is not practical. IMO.
  8. Good question. I was just using the default settings when the game is turned on. Let me know so I can post a much lower score with only 3 lives.
  9. This is not a game i've ever been good at. I'm hoping to break 100k before all is said and done, but it ain't gonna be easy. 79,400 The super gravity and excessive bouncing off the ceilings is difficult for me to master.
  10. Here's my first submission on the 8-bit version. (Already posted for 2600 & 7800) 39,220 As I just mentioned in the 7800 HSC thread, each of them seem much harder than the 2600 version. The ghosts are much better at homing in on you. Also, in the 8-bit version I found the red ghost is faster than me even on the first level without eating dots, yikes! Its been so long, but is that more like the arcade? Which version is closest?
  11. Here's my first entry on the 7800 version. 44,180 This version, and the 8-bit version, are harder than the 2600. Even though you get 5 lives to start with the ghosts seem to home in on ya much more. They are smarter and seem to trap me easier.
  12. Thanks! Would the laser disc add-on have made the 7800 the first system to use an optical format? Interesting.
  13. I recently got a boxed original 7800 with expansion port from eBay. Didn't even know such a thing existed until it showed up in the mail and I opened it up. I saw "Expansion Port" with the connector pins in the unit and went "hunh?". After reading through this thread I now know there was never anything made for it, but does anyone know if anything was planned for it? Just curious. Thanks!
  14. Minor improvement for me. Damn red bugs!!! 82,380
  15. Agreed. Now Space Shuttle is on the top of my list because I just got the Crackpots one. 77,270
  16. There's another place that has friendly 2600 competitions! I'll have to go check it out. I assume DP is Digital Press? I upped my score a little here. 59,510 I'm really hoping to get the patch on this game. Does everyone else feel this is the hardest Activision game to earn the patch for? Sure seems like it to me.
  17. Yeah, its amazing what can be done on the 2600!
  18. This is a great idea. Hopefully, we can do some cross-platform stuff with other games too. My first submission for the 2600 version... 74,340 I have the 7800 and 8-bit versions too. It will be fun to compare.
  19. Here is my first submission. It's a tough game. I'll have to learn to time the red spiders better to get the patch. I think this is one of the few Activision games where I have not earned the patch yet. 55,720
  20. This is true for me too! As for the price thing, I'll have to chime in with $50 for loose, and $100 for boxed with instructions. I could pay a little more, but I know not everyone can. So, if you look at this with simple supply/demand curves then the price should fall out. If you charge too much then you may not sell very many and therefore not make very much. If you charge too little then of course you'll sell out quickly but not get very much either. The optimum is somewhere between these points. I'm assuming this thread is your "market research" as to what people are willing to pay. After reading every post in this thread it looks like this optimum is going to be in the $75-$100 range for a boxed version with instructions. Like I said some could, and would, pay more but you are then running the risk of selling only a few. It will be interesting to see the price you pick, and how many of the 250 (or 300?) sell in a given timeframe. Also, thanks for Demon Attack! I like the original with an ending personally. (Although some fancy screen with final score would be cool) I don't see a point playing a game endlessly when the difficulty stops ramping. I went up to about 450k once and finally turned it off. Ouch my thumb hurt! Anyway, looking forward to Auctionauts.
  21. Welcome aboard!! I've played this game several more times and can consistently break 3k, but can't beat my old score yet. Still a couple more days to try.
