  1. Actually it could be the TV. I have problems with just a couple games on one of my TVs, but they work fine on the other. Artillery Duel is one of them. The other two that come to mind are the NTSC version of Acid Drop and Okie Dokie.

The scrolling effect on these games is slower than if I put in a PAL game and watched the scrolling.

  2. Scoring Points in Fantastic Voyage

[*]Points are awarded for shooting obstacles and bonus points are gained for completeing each phase. The stornger the patient's heartbeat upon completion, the higher the bonus.

[*]Defense cells (similar to Scamble's rockets) get you 250 points.

[*]Blood cells get you 25 points per hit, but harm the patient at the same time.

[*]Antibodies bring, I think, 75 points.

[*]Bacteria bring 100 points per hit, that is 300 points if completely killed.

[*]Clotlets get you 1 point per hit, though they're indestructable.

[*]The clot gets you 200 points per hit, that is 3000 points in total.

I played around some more tonight, but still couldn't break 300k. However, I did figure out all the scoring by shooting something and using the pause feature. The above information is mostly correct.

Defense Cells: 250 points, these can pass by without harming the patient.

Blood Cells: 3 shots to destroy, 1st=10 pts, 2nd=20 pts, 3rd=25 pts, Total = 55 points

However, you do not want to shoot these. Damaged Blood Cells will harm the patient.

Bacteria: 3 shots to destroy, 1st=100 pts, 2nd=50 pts, 3rd=50 pts, Total = 200 points

Shoot these or the patient will be harmed.

Enzyme: 500 points, these can pass by without harming the patient.

However, you want to shoot these as they will heal the patient a little.

Antibodies: 75 points, Shoot these or the patient will be harmed.

These spwan if a wall is touched.

Clotlets: 1 point per hit and are indestructable.

Blood Clot: 15 shots to destroy, each hit is worth 200 points, Total = 3000 points

The randomness of the maze can make the game very hard sometimes. In the wave I died on (bacteria) there was a long diagonal part that had 5 bacteria in it. Because it was diagonal I could never get under them before they left the screen, even by going minimum speed and waiting for them to come back. That wiped out A LOT of life. The patient died soon after.

This is my last submission for the week. I'm going to need a day to rest my hand in preparation for next week's game. :(

By the way, there is a level 6. You do get 600 points for each burger you complete when bonus is being counted up.

    Great score man!!

I;ve got over 120k a few more times but still can't best mey 133k right now. I have a few more tries in me saved for tonight. ;)

  5. That is true, this unit does not have the "reconditioned" sticker usually (always?) found on units that had service performed. Of course, THAT sticker could've been removed. But if the homeowner took the time to remove the reconditioned sticker then why not remove the little Sears sticker too?

In any case, I will keep this little oddity. :)

That must have been an exhilarating couple of minutes!

I don't usually swear, but NO f*%#@^g WAY!! Those were some amazing buys for very hard to find CIB titles. The seller must not have known what he had. I think most of those could've gone for 2x-3x times those prices.

Looks like an early Christmas for ya'!

  7. Holy smoke, that went fast! I was basing that BIN price on an earlier one I saw a couple months back, I recall it being between $200-$250, I think.

Congrats, I guess it is around the price range. Your price on the Quadrun is very good and i think you should get the BIN price on it. I just know i would have offered more for the Boing but its gone now and sometimes it works for the best to be patient and find things at deals.

I was willing to pay $150 for this til i found this one late night. Good thing i have the hours of a vampire or i wouldn't have found this and 8 other deals from the same seller! He listed them around 2:00 a.m. my time.

Its only the 2nd time I saw Cosmic Commuter CIB up for auction on ebay......the last one i remember seeing was Video Game Addict's listing. I think this is by far the hardest CIB Activision one there is to find. The rest of them u can usually find for under $50 with the exception of Beamrider although that one has been appearing more and so is dropping quickly down in price. I have both versions of Beamrider now U.S. and Canadian version (which i didn't know existed until i got one)

Wow! Nice grab on that Cosmic Commuter! Looks like I'm not the only bandit. ;)
