I have actually never seen one for sale, I haven't looked very hard though but I think that one is pretty tough to find. I have only seen one and it was up for $200 Buy it now. I should have grabbed it then i guess but i thought it was a bit much. I did buy the Frogger II complete from the same seller. Also passed up a CIB Guardian. That was me. I've picked up a couple boxed Cosmic Commuters both for under $50 through ebay. I did sell that one for $200 toymailman bought it off me. I will eventually buy another but I don't want to spend $100+ on it. You just missed one on ebay this week. Sold for $150+ Yup! That was me! I got the Guardian, Cosmic Commuter, and I think one other then. That finished Activision and Apollo for me. Yeah, the Cosmic Commuter I was watching last week went for $156 and some change. I have only seen those two ever on eBay.

Maybe it has a "Holy Grail" boxed Combat or something!

Picture of my complete Tigervision collection.

Congrats and nice pictures from all of you! I am still down 3 CIB titles and don't have those loose either. Springer, Miner Vol II, and River Patrol -
This is a very well done game. The cart and manual are really cool and gameplay is fun. Maybe this is the one I will make a box for next. Anyway, my best so far is 155,450.

Argh! One less on my watch list too.

A bit better than my last entry and new personal best! 2,951 Heart breaking when you're so close to a multiple of 500. I hadn't even tried this game until this weeks HSC and like it. This game feels similar to Kaboom; simple but very addictive. My Tip: DONT BLINK!

So far 1751. This is a tough game! This high score club is a great idea. Wish I started sooner. - How long does a "season" usually run? - Is there a thread that has a summary list of the games played in the past?

The Atari 2600 collector Hall of Fame (2007)
toymailman replied to homerwannabee's topic in Atari 2600
I would agree that toymailman could actually be the rookie of the year for the 2600. I think i would be more like rookie of the year for Atari collecting i have pretty much finished my collection for the 5200 and 7800 in one year. Only need a couple more titles for each of those. Wow, thanks guys! It is an honor just to be mentioned in this thread. It has been tons of fun collecting 2600 stuff too. The Flashback 2 is what brought back all my childhood memories early last year and got me into it. I was really happy to find this site and amazed at how strong the Atari 2600 was still going after 30 years!! -
Repro's 4hrs left: 2600 Stunt Cycle & Kabobber $20 ea. BIN
toymailman replied to Shawn's topic in Auction Central
I got a Kabobber a few days ago from you, and I can't wait for it to get here so I can make a box for it! I will also try to make a manual with what AtariAge has here too. I will post pics when done. -
Thinking of selling off most of my collection!
toymailman replied to Atarimania75's topic in Atari 2600
Wow, I had to read your post twice to make sure I read it correctly. I am very sorry to hear this and can't believe it. You are a great guy and I have always enjoyed dealing with you. It looks like there is a lot of good advice and views in this thread already. All that I would like to emphasize is to do some calm thinking. Sometimes, stress can make people make quick decisions. I just want the decision you make to be the right one for you. Whether this is selling everything, taking a break, slowing down a bit, etc. Good luck with it man, I know this would be tough for me to deal with. -
Whats a boxed NTSC Espial (NIB) worth?
toymailman replied to Cassidy Nolen's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
It may even fetch over $200 if u were to place it up on ebay. I think its along the same rarity as Spriinger and Miner 2049er Volume 2 and i was desperate enough to pay about $275 for my Springer and i really don't regret it i rarely see a loose Springer or Espial .....although Espial i do see a wee bit more. If Homer had to offer $65 before someone found him a loose one i would say a complete would definitely fetch $200 or more if the hefty bidders like Toymailman, Decypher, or a newbie that i have been noticing going after the completes Dragoduby. I am really glad i have mine already so i don't have to compete with these guys LOL. You wouldn't have to worry about me on this one as I have a CIB Espial (thanks to the 5th Ghost!). Fair game on the others though! -
Ha, I wish. It took me a year to build up the courage to buy the CIB Waterworld. I also have a problem with NIB games. I don't have the heart to open them if they are rare. This forces me to find/buy cart and manual to play it.
-
I don't have anything rare this time around to list, but there are some Activision, Imagic, and Parker Brothers games available. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZtoymailmanQQhtZ-1 Thank you for looking!
-
Yeah, I think all I have left are the really rares! I think the last 1% will cost more than my current collection combined, yikes! As for the wrap it looks to be in really great shape. No breaks, tape or glue.
-
I just got the CIB Waterworld that has been taunting me on the Atari2600.com website (some cash/some trades). Anyway, this item must have been sold in stores as well as through the Video Club. Mine still has the original shrinkwrap with a price sticker of $23.99 reduced to $9.99 from Kay-Bee toys. That was a great deal for someone!

I print them out at a local print place and then make them on my dining room table at home.
-
Thanks man! Yeah, it took me awhile before I decided to buy unboxed homebrews (seeing how I like boxes ). Then when I got them, I figured I'd try it myself. It would be nice to do it, but the time per box is a big obsticle. I need to start having kids and in a few years put them to work on it. Like people used to do on farms.

Speaking of Atarimania 75, I forgot to give someone else credit for some of my boxed items, him! Thanks Shawn. - James

Oops! Sorry 'bout that. You should still be able to see the three titles you mentioned in my pics above. I believe all of those were thanks to Atari2600.com. I wish I lived closer to see his place first hand. Great selection, service, and always seems to get some interesting or hard-to-find stuff. Ah ha, now I know. Thanks, and love the wall paper!

Thank you for the compliments guys! I really appreciate it.

After posting the pics of my boxed collection, there was intrest in seeing some close-ups of the custom boxes spotted in there. I have attached them below. Fall Down, AStar, and Four-Play Inside shot to see how nice the cart stays in place! Here are the contents with everything taken out. The cartridge holder I designed works great for making sure the cart doesn't flop around inside the boxes. I use it for boxed prototype released stuff too such as RealSports Basketball, Stunt Cycle, Combat Two, etc. I am very sorry if I left anyone off the credits section of the boxes that should be on these. I tried to use what was in the manuals and in the AA Store description as best I could. I am also hoping this is not illegal! I mean using proprietary logos, designs, etc. If so let's just say no one ever saw this post, okay?
-
Yes, thank you very much, I will take good care of them. I also got a couple from the 5th ghost. Atari2600.com is a major contributor, Video 61, and of course eBay. I will start a new thread, probably tonight, with some pics of the boxes I've made. I would love to make them in quantity, but each box is pretty much hand made. Cutting, gluing, measuring, etc. It literally takes me about 45 minutes per box! And that's the time after I made the image on the computer and printed it out. Also, I still feel relatively new here so what's "The Wall"??

Thanks for all the compliments everyone! To answer a few questions... The Cooper games are Bobby is Going Home and Mr. Postman. Again most cooper games are not high on my list, because I think most were just knock-offs of other games, right? The Froggo games I got a good deal on so I figured what the heck. The homebrew boxes for Combat Rock, Fall Down, Gunfight, Swordfight, etc. are all custom. As you can see I like boxes (ooooo pretty). So when I get a game that never came with a box (mostly homebrews) then I feel compelled to make one. I actually own most of the homebrews available in the Atari Age store, but haven't got around to making boxes for them all yet. The way I make them takes a bit of time, but I do want to make a box for them all eventually. My wife really likes the way A-Star turned out. Not much to look at from the side (white box with "AStar"), but the front and back are pretty cool. I like my Fall Down and how I made the front-side red and the back-side blue and the colors meet along the side. On the front I usually try to put the same image that's on the cart. For the back I use screenshots, descriptions and credits. I also made a nice little cart holder that fits snugly inside these boxes. It works well with other games like Combat Two, RealSports Basketball, etc. Before, the cart would just flop around in the box. Now it stands front and center like a good cart should!

Yeah, no kidding. For my purposes, I am calling my XONOX "complete" for now. I at least have all the games. Two as singles the other 6 as doubles. At this point, I am mainly trying to get boxed games that are distinctly different from anything else. Hence, my small Sears collection. The big Sears titles I wanted were the 3 exclusives. You can see in my pics, I even put those in the spots where their Atari counterparts would have gone rather than with the other Sears. (sorted in CX# order) Call me crazy!!
-
Thank you. As you can see a few titles are high on my want list, because I only need one to finish off certain sets. Subterranea - Imagic Stargunner - Telesys Universal Chaos - Telegames Up & Down - Sega (I lump it with Sega) Picnic - US Games Some titles I have conceded the fact that I will probably never own. It has been a very rare occasion to break the $150 mark for a single game. There have been a few exceptions and there will probably have to be a few more! Titles like Quadrun, Out of Control, etc. will only be possible if everyone here falls asleep for a year and I can snatch it on eBay with a single bid for $9.99! One can dream, right!
