  1. Probably looking for used, but I may go new if I have to pay almost as much for second hand machine. Prices (on ebay, graigslist etc) seem crazy right now; not just the usual expensive suspects like Addams Family or Medieval Madness, but more common machines like World Cup Soccer or Doctor Who seem to be fetching $2K+ Anyone know of a reasonable source within 200 miles of Philly? Tried TNT, PA Gameroom and quarter arcade but they're either low on stock or pumping up the prices. Perhaps it's caused by tax refund season but $2.5K for a high-issue 15 year old pinball seems a bit off. Interested in (in no particular order) preferably has a DMD but not essential Terminator 2 Jurassic Park Gilligan's Island Cyclone Getaway HS II etc If you're nearby and want to off-load a machine or know someone who does let me know. Thanks!
  2. Found it! THE DRIVER Note the car pictures on the flyer - that was the actual footage.
  3. A lot of folks may remember F1 (1976) With the never ending left turn. But I remember one older than that - it was mechanical and had real footage of a car in front of you (it was red or white I think). You were supposed to 'follow' it my steering with the road. If you didn't get it right a light would streak across the screen. I think it would have been a 60s sit down machine.
  4. Posting flagged down by craigslist users What does that mean?
  5. CC - if you really want to wow the guests... BUILD your own pong game. No I'm not talking about cabinets, mame or any of that nonsense. I mean actually solder up the PCB from scratch. Not too shabby for twenty bucks! http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/8546/ (Out of stock sadly) .
  6. If you decide to sell it, please take pics of the screen and inside the cab and upload them to klov before it goes out the door.
  7. I've got the anniversary pacman/galaga and yes it has a continue option. Fortunately, it can be toggled off, along with a plethera of other options (speed pacman, rapid fire etc). I'm old school and obviously play 'pure' and in fact haven't accessed the options since it was purchased.
  8. Sounds like multiple problems and you've tackled just the first one. Try popping the erred chip back in and seeing if you get the original error.
  9. Here's another cab that shows it. It's almost like they couldn't decide between upright or horizontal. Technically, I think it's possibly 16 pixels of black either side that is covering the 'construction' of the graphics as the screen scrolls. In my old days of programming the c64 and dragon et al I used to utilized that trick. In every mame pic I see of MM it looks to be the case. http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&...G=Search+Images See the black vertical border?
  10. I think the game not filling the screen was the norm for MM. I seem to remember it that way anyway. This screenie seems to validate that -
  11. Thanks for the help. Didin't realise Wild ride was horizontal - thanks for that. I know Castle works for sure. My cab is original though and I'm kind of keen to keep it that way so I'm not sure how much use a jamma switcher is to me - unless there's a universal/taito pinout to jamma (I know there's connectors that go the other way).
  12. The pinout on my Mr Do cab is universal and so I could take Mr Do's Castle and swap out the game out without problem. But I want both (and maybe wild ride in there too) in at the same time. Mounting the extra PCB inside isn't a problem but does anyone make a switcher of some sort? It wouldn't have to be software - just something I could hook up and actually flip a switch to choose between PCBs? Thanks.
  13. Star wars full-sized sit down Donkey Kong (as with my pacman/galaga I'm going to buy the anniversary cab - why mess about?) Star Rider sit down
  14. Some mods for the midway cab including replacing the rubbish controls and adding a marquee light. http://www.retroblast.com/articles/BEGMods.html
  15. Wow - nice find. Here's an ebay auction for one http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-Nintendo-Pro-Play...1QQcmdZViewItem And some more pics http://www.videogameconnection.com/index.p...92f2777bc345249
  16. Given that each 2x2 tile on that floor is just 12" square, I doubt it has a 13" monitor. It doesn't nearly fill the width of the cab, nor the length (due to the CP) and since the monitor is placed vertically it should. I'd say 9" like the kind in some darts machines..
  17. Whilst I don't think it's what you're looking for, Nintendo did release a modified NES in an arcade cab - it's was called the PlayChoice 10. Maybe that will help with your search.
  18. Okay take a look at this pic in an ebay auction I just found... Funky side-art and colour right? But it's nicely done... Plays the games listed So aside from it being pink what's so weird? Well here's why... http://cgi.ebay.com/Princess-Arcade-Video-...1QQcmdZViewItem WTH?
  19. Marco - give these guy a call http://www.arcadeshop.com/ Highly recommended
  20. Yeah the more I look at it the more I think you're right Cassidy - sorry!
  21. I assumed the power supply was beneath the isolation transformer...? But now I look at it there does seem to be a strange gap - and isn't that a ground I see hanging.
  22. I'm not sure why Cassidy would think the psu is missing when it's clearly there, plain as day. Erm. And if it wasn't then what's juicing the monitor - fairy dust?
  23. Check the usual -fuses, connections, look for freyed wires etc. Reseat any chips that look loose. Also check for cracked solder joints or leaks from capacitors (you might notice a fishy smell) or acid from batteries. Someone should be along with more specific advice regarding checking the power supply etc too. FWIW that looks like one clean interior!
  24. Fairly easy to put it back.
