    The power is provided from the cassette interface and a serial cable is added to the unit.

    This is a very simple mod requiring nothing more than a drill and a soldering iron.

  4. Atari 400 SVideo Mod

    These pictures are the installation of the 5200 A/V Mod inside an Atari 400.

    The mod was sold by www.8bitdomain.com and as the name suggests, was designed for the 5200 game console.

    I installed this one inside an Atari 400, which required a good bit of lateral thinking.

    An Atari 800 purchased for $15 from Craiglist and found to have the usual defective space bar. After trying to re-solder the original leaf contacts, and failing, I opted for a more brute force approach.

    One of my Amiga 1200s, now with an all-black case from the Kickstarter campaign run by Philippe Lang and Marcel Franquinet, next to my other Amiga with it's original white case.

    The case badge is from retro_passion on eBay.

    The black key caps are from a CDTV keyboard.
